Review summary
Celebrity Cruises has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and quality, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
First time cruiser and made an error when I booked not realising that the cabin i chose had a connecting door.
Rang straight away to change cabin and was told it was a £50 per person charge.
Fortunately managed to do it on line for free.
Then requested 3 days after booking to transfer the reservation to a travel agent for better price and management. Was told this was only available within 2 days of booking and I was on day 3. Forums and website say 30 days !!
They reluctantly agreed to transfer to an agent but as a first time cruiser the whole experience has put me off Celebrity who appear to be nothing but money grabbers.
So disappointed in them.
Just got off Ascent - I want to go immediately back on board
This was my 9th ever cruise but my second cruise with celebrity. In an avid P&O cruiser but last year tried apex for the first time for a 4 day Cruise and booked ascent around Greece, Turkey and Malta. What an absolute incredible week, I want to go back on board immediately. The staff are just suburb, everyone is so friendly and the health protocols I.e washing signs before the Buffett are taken very seriously!!
The ship itself is gorgeous - I am an interior designer so I was in awe of the design, they have done a fantastic job!!
Counting down the weeks until I’m on Apex for 2 weeks Which I am super excited for! Once again celebrity is the best cruise line, hands down this has been my favourite cruise EVER, get me back on board now
Booked a guaranteed stateroom with a veranda. The one we were referred to was an infinity. We were allocated an obstructed view veranda with a porthole. To say we are fuming is an understatement! Clearly while they are auctioning off upgrades - they auctioned off our veranda cabin. Misleading customers.
Celebrity X Millennium.
We cruised with this cruise ship called Celebrity X Millennium in July 2025 around Japan this was the worst cruise ship we have ever cruised on it’s ready for the knackers yard it’s that old and worn, the food onboard was the worse quality of food we have ever tasted on a cruise ship no taste just very cheap quality, the entertainment was so poor absolutely rubbish, we was also ripped off by Celebrity X Cruises by selling us a Veranda Stateroom that turned out to be a partial view Veranda Stateroom with no apologies or any compensation absolutely disgusting service we have received from Celebrity X Cruises we would never ever cruise with Celebrity X Cruises again or ever recommend them so we would recommend not cruising with Celebrity X Cruise or cruise on the ship called Celebrity X Millennium.
Our Veranda Stateroom was 7023 on deck 7 don’t book this Veranda Stateroom unless you don’t mind a partial view with a massive steel column within the Veranda view but you will be charged as if the stateroom was a standard Veranda Stateroom with full clear scenic views mid-sold a standard Veranda Stateroom for a partial view stateroom and we have had absolutely disgusting customer service from Celebrity X Cruises.
Beware of bidding for the move up programme. We were successful and excited for our cruise for my wife´s birthday in August as our bid to move up was successful. However once on board the privileges for a Retreat client are not given to move up clients!!! The service on board was awful except for Luminaie restaurant and the housekeeping staff. The butler was non existent for us. I called on 5 different occasions and the number was always busy. On my wife´s birthday the Champagne, Flowers and Chocolates never arrived at 8am in our cabin. I went to the concierge 4 times to chase them up during the day but nothing arrived until after 7pm that evening. Clearly their company debt is influencing policy
Be warned. Whatever you pay for your cruise will only be the start. From the moment you get onboard you will be hassled about obtaining a “drinks package”. The staff are quite open about “upselling” you and must be on a whopping commission. A drinks package will mean for $90-107 a day you can absorb as much alcohol as is possible. Without this option you are exposed to $18 gratuity every time you buy a drink. Not to mention an additional gratuity which is highlighted on each drinks bill. This is a ridiculous practice and should be reviewed by Celebrity. Other than getting charged $1600 dollars for drinks over 7 days it was pretty good.
Where to start - Celebrity used to offer premium cruising and fantastic customer service. post pandemic they have simply fallen off a cliff. they used to be our favourite cruise line but now are a shadow of what they were. customer service onshore is sadly a joke. we have now had 4 cruises cancelled - accept that Covid played a big part but on each occassion they have failed to reinstate cruise credits such that we go through a very stressful process of getting them reinstated - each time in the Celebrity merry go round they lose some of the value of the credits. you cannot talk to anyone who can make sense of it all and 5 calls / 3 e-mails over a 6 month period have been ignored -I don't know how the CEO sleeps at night - avoid at all costs and pick another cruise line who might treat you as a valued customer
We booked our "holiday of a lifetime" as a package with Celebrity Cruises and our luggage didn't make the ship Diabolical that it still cannot be found after 33 days. Minimal support and extremely poor communication from this company to support us throughout the cruise and thereafter.
Absolutely disgusting. The rooms and hallways smell like mildew. In the room, there are stains from weathering and overall uncleanliness on the bedsheets, small couch, all over in the shower, and the power outlets feel like they’re coming out of the wall. The room reminds me of a very cheap motel, and the smell of mildew is sometimes overwhelming. The complementary food from the Buffets, and the certain cafés are sometimes difficult to eat as well, for instance, the eggs we ate this morning at the Buffet tasted like they were soaked in dishwater. Not only that the staff are very unhelpful and uncaring, for instance, my wife wanted some help picking out a coffee that was sweet to her liking as she is not familiar and the staff at the little café would stare at her obnoxiously and not provide any clarity or recommendations on the products she might like, so she ordered a vanilla latte. I tested the vanilla latte and it was very water down, as if intentionally done. Then she ordered a chai tea latte that took 10 seconds to make, and was scolding hot with no warning. We were charged for both of them. We will most likely be sticking with Royal Caribbean cruises from now on. This review pertains to the celebrity constellation 9 day cruise starting from Ravenna Italy and ending in Rome. Thank God for the beautiful Italy destinations.
my husband and I have been avid Celebrity cruisers, including doing a European honeymoon cruise last year in the iconic suite on the Edge. We have no problem, paying for the premium service that we expect from a cruise line like Celebrity. But unfortunately, we’ve had a recent experience that has made us rethink ever wanting to cruise with Celebrity again. We had booked a cruise that was canceled by Celebrity .(the 2024 Transatlantic on Beyond). We were that we would be getting a refund within 30 days of the cancellation. (Cruise was paid in full-$22k) We have had to call umpteen times, been on hold for hours trying to get the refund. We keep being told that there was an error in the refund but that they would escalate it and it would be refunded within 14 days. Several calls (hours!) later- nothing!! The last supervisor we spoke with said that she is not authorized to provide us a direct phone number to follow up on the matter so we’ve had to call back several times and then on hold for hours. We are frustrated and disgusted with the way the situation has been handled, especially as loyal celebrity cruisers, who have spent upwards of $100,000 on cruises in the past two years. Disgusted !!
We spent over $7,000.00 and will never cruise with Celebrity again or recommend them.
I don't even know where to begin .... the holes in the upholstery, cracked mirrors, MASKING TAPE HOLDING PARTS OF THE SHIP TOGETHER, disintegrating weather stripping on decks, viewing windows with trapped moisture, cold jacuzzis, dented/non-working fixtures and chipped paint everywhere, DIRTY/FOOD CRUSTED SILVERWARE/DINNERWARE, a $$$ non-working internet premium package in which it's failings were justified by the price point (AKA A RIP-OFF), a left behind vacuum cleaner, used shower cap, window curtain tears, and filthy broken bathroom drawers that greeted us in our concierge package room on the first day. The cherry on top is we've traveled a lot before this cruise and never had Covid. WE BOTH CAME HOME WITH COVID. Too bad this is the kind of memories the Celebrity Cruise line creates.
Was on the celebrity beyond for a 10 day med cruise. Issues started with the transfer from the airport which was done via bus, with really poor aircon. A stiflingly hot & uncomfortable journey. From then on, day one was fab. Explored the ship, had drinks, food and partied until late in the martini bar. Woken at 2am by horrendous noise coming through the wall. Had to go to guest services. Someone visited the room and said “they’d never heard anything like it before”. We moved to a different room, just to sleep, packing up our belongings and properly moving the following day. Not a great start. Next few days were exceptional, amazing staff, food, entertainment, trips & parties. The ship is a floating work of art. I paid for premium drinks so I could have draught Stella Artois. They never had any and it’s not real draught, just a little machine you’d buy for your house. When they did have some, before it ran out, it tasted pretty awful. If you asked for champagne they tried to give you Prosecco. They ran out of premium water after a couple of days, so tinned water it was and this tasted meh. Day 6 covid came to visit. At the time I thought it was the aircon or a mild cold. I didn’t feel too bad and there was no fever or anything like that, just a thickly throat and cough. Some fatigue but again I put that down to our hectic schedule & partying. With hindsight, covid was rife onboard and spread quickly, as you could hear coughing all around the ship and it increased every day. Again, at the time, I just didn’t consider it too much. We had a trip our last day, one which was supposed to be a trip to a lovely town, Portovenere, followed by a boat trip along the coastline to another town, for a stop off. The boat trip along the coast was the only reason I took this trip. The instant the boat set off (when it was too late) the guide informed us (as if it was nothing) that the sea was too rough for the boat trip. We then drove for over 2 hours, to a little town and then had to get the train to another town. 2.5hrs travelling so far. We then had 1hr 50 minutes to explore, only to then travel another 2.5hrs to finally get to Portovenere. Bear in mind this was meant to be the first stop, where we took the boat trip from. When we got there we had a measly 40 minutes to hang around. The sea was beautifully calm, boat trips were still being sold and boats were coming & going perfectly normally. They lied about the rough seas and rearranged the trip for their convenience. We then had another 2hrs 45 mins to travel back to the ship. We arrived incredibly late, just before 7pm. 7.5hrs travelling for just 2.5hrs off the bus and no boat trip. You weren’t allowed to eat or drink on the bus but right at the end they announced the driver had bottles of water for sale - you could drink his water but not your own. Who in their right mind would pay for this, when they could be sat aboard the luxurious ship enjoying themselves. We were exhausted, stressed, feeling unwell and our last day was ruined. We got in, packed our cases, showered and went for dinner. Had a few drinks and then hit the sack. Up at 6am to travel home, on a bus where half the passengers were coughing - I felt for the other half. We are both now isolating at home, riddled with full covid symptoms, no doubt exacerbated by tiredness & stress. There were points where this was the best of holidaying, honestly exceptional but I would not do it again - the negatives are just too many sadly and I’ve no doubt cruises are hotbeds for covid still.
The only improvement I can suggest is that Celebrity Cruises be put out of business. I condemn those extortioners in the strongest possible terms, for their Foul play and Deception. They used Covid and Shengen visas and a multitude of Lies, Bullying and hustling practices on me and several other passengers in order to deny us boarding the cruise on 20 October 2022. Beware. Do not book with the Pigs led by Lisa Lutoff Perlo.
