I have had an outstanding complaint unresloved since November 2024

I have had an outstanding complaint since November 2024. In the 1 year 1 was issued with two very large bills over 1k each time (I live in a 1 bed apartment and work in the office for reference) so this just did not make sense to me. The issue is still on going, that bill was suppose to be frozen until the issue was resolved but as of last week I am now down 1k as the amount was taken from my bank. I have found it very difficult or at all possible to get updates on this situation from the complaint team. the Customer service operators have tired their best to help but as there is no direct contact to the complaint team this issue is just causing unnecessary stress and anxiety.

Great customer service and rates!

I am really happy with the level of customer service Bord Gais provides. Also, the Electricity and Gas rates are good!

Dont look after their existing…

Dont look after their existing customers. Needed to talk to them instead of using self service. Third time in a week 45minutes waiting without getting through. I dialled the business support number and got through straight away but they told me to talk to residential. If I click new business I also get through straight away. Seems they intentially don't want to talk to existing customers

Scum bags are leaving us for the weekend without heat because of there mistake we have a new baby and no fire how are the allowed get away with it we will be taking it further

I made a complaint to Board Gaia on the 26th of November 2021 about a failed boiler service visit which I paid for by Credit card,the customer care member was less than helpful and tried to blame me for cancelling the callout saying I must have pressed the wrong button when sending the request,she said they received an e-mail by me cancelling it,when I told her it wasn't me and to pull up the e-mail she said she couldn't find it,so I said I wanted to make a complaint which she said she would log for me and I would receive a response in a week to 10 days,guess what it's now the 7th of January and despite many calls to customer service and their assurances I would be contacted, still absolutely nothing from the company except 2 called in a row from them saying my contract was ending and would I like to renew with them,so to me it looks like when they want your money they can contact me but when it comes to a complaint they don't give a dam,absolutely appaling service,I'm absolutely disgusted.Kevin O Driscoll Navan Co Meah

Account closure gimmicks !

Hi Please be careful with this company , I faced an issue with the final settlement where their link was not working when I tried to make the payment so I contacted them using their customer care and they said I can use online payment which ended up in a viscous cycle of conversations with no actual action Eventually they transferred my account to a third party and they charged my more than I was supposed to pay as it was due . So beware if you are trying to close the account Board gas will never make it easier for you which you will not experience when you sign up . So please avoid this dealer ! PS. Payment links were working for me till I gave my notice to this dealer .

Worst Company EVER

This company should be banned. Not only is there customer service absolutely horrid but they are extremely difficult to do business with if anything outside of the norm happens. I recently moved into a property and there was lots of letters belong to the previous owner stating final warning we will cut your electricity off if you dont pay x amount. I dealt with them about 5 times on the phone explaining I am not the previous tenant but it was like talking to the wall. I have phoned the council about them now and the housing department will have to deal with them. They ask for all these ridiculous things like take a photo with the date stamped in it etc to just defer you and not actually deal with the problem. It takes a good 25mins to even get to talk to anybody

Bord Gais nightmare

I have had the worst experience with Bord Gais and I would not recommend them to anyone. Contacted them in June to inform them that my mother had died and I wanted to have the gas supply disconnected until further notice. I was told to submit a meter reading which I did. Due to my health issues I was unable to collect post from my mother's house until last month. There was a bill for over 1000 euros, estimated meter reading, from Bord Gais. When I called them I was told they didn't accept the meter reading and had tried to contact me by phone but got no reply. I asked why they didn't write a letter and was told "we don't write to people about meter readings " I was told to take a photo of the meter reading and they suggested I include a newspaper to prove the date. I arranged this and sent it to them. I received a call from them to say they didn't accept the meter reading and to take a photo using date on my phone. I informed them I had already done as they asked and I wanted to know why it was not accepted. The person I spoke to told me he didn't know why and I asked for the name of the person who instructed him to contact me. He said he got instructions from the people who man the bord gais email account and it wasn't signed. The reason I was pushing for this information is because I've spent hours waiting for or Bord gais to answer the phone, spent a fortune on those phone calls, have been receiving calls asking if I want to make a payment over the phone. I now have a letter from them telling me the bill is for nearly 1200 euros and all the money I will have to pay for disconnecting gais, blocking meter and it goes on. Bord gais are the energy supplier to my own home and I will be cancelling my contract this week but will be using a solicitor to do so on my behalf. I would not recommend them.

Bord Gas Disaster

Bord Gas Disaster Board Gas Reps knocked on my door about 14/11 to explain their offers,I decided to change my electric acc to Board Gas but explained to them that my contract didn't expire with Pre Pay Power until 29/11 they said they would look after everything so I signed the contract having heard nothing I rang the rep who called at my door but no answer so I sent a message still no answer,So I rang customer care who told me my contract had not gone through and he would put it through over the phone after half an hr doing this he then asked me to check the RM No on the Electric Box,then told me Board Gas could not change this because the RM No was not within their range so he could not process the contract,so I rang Customer Care again to make sure the contract was cancelled they told me the contract wasn't cancelled I then made sure the contract was cancelled Board Gas Customer Care absolute Rubbish Ronald Mc Loughlin

Bord gas / my Son's contract

Oh my God, to read the reviews on trustpilot here is enough to turn anyone off, but I know it is said don't always believe what you read, the only experience I have in relation to Bord gas, my son has just took out rent on a home, tennent previous had electric Ireland install a prepay meter, he rang bord gas to sign up a 12 month contract, I was listening to a prerecorded message that went on for 20 mins before my sons call was answered, the person on sales team was indeed very helpful and clearly understood and repeated everything back, anyway turns our bord gas are giving a 40% discount and 16cents per K/w , that's actually quite a good offer, I contemplate now on moving to Bord gas, but seriously the reviews here would turn anyone away, but I will keep tabs on my sons dealing with bord gas now and do a follow up on this, there's always 2 sides to every story, I'm not cutting bord gas In any way, everyone will make up their own mind, the offer is great no doubt, so has anyone genuinely anything good to say on their experience with bord gas,

Really really terrible

Really really terrible. They misread my meter and tried to charge me 900eur - ten times my normal bill. They were quite happy to take it out om my bank by DD. Took a month to get the right reading, many many phone calls to their 'helpline' always busy never a wait of less than 30mins and then the agents hung up on me three times! They never phoned back. I could go on but basically they tried to rob me. Lucky for me I had the means to chase them on it. They waived my bill of 59eur in the end. They loose it costs them 59...I loose it costs me 900 ... not a bad bet for them!
