I have had an outstanding complaint unresloved since November 2024

I have had an outstanding complaint since November 2024. In the 1 year 1 was issued with two very large bills over 1k each time (I live in a 1 bed apartment and work in the office for reference) so this just did not make sense to me. The issue is still on going, that bill was suppose to be frozen until the issue was resolved but as of last week I am now down 1k as the amount was taken from my bank. I have found it very difficult or at all possible to get updates on this situation from the complaint team. the Customer service operators have tired their best to help but as there is no direct contact to the complaint team this issue is just causing unnecessary stress and anxiety.

I am really happy with the level of customer service Bord Gais provides. Also, the Electricity and Gas rates are good!

Brilliant that you call up to leave and…

Brilliant that you call up to leave and when you prove you're not able to charge me €50 to leave a supervisor is going to be got to speak to me but magically when the call is put on hold to get them I am cut off...... Terrible service

Incompetent Customer Service

Incompetent Customer Service, i moved out of a rented house where we used them for gas and electricity. They asked for a final reading, one of my housemates sent me the wrong electricty readings by mistake. I got a bill for over 1500 euro. I challenged it and found out that reading i submitted was wrong, they acknowledged this and accepted the revised reading after numerous calls and emails. I agreed to pay €115 ( they said i owed twice this , but because i had problems with customer service they would half it) I agreed on the condition they send me a detailed bill showing what i was being charged. This never arrived, now they have a debt collector chasing me for the money, everytime i ask for the final bill they send me the incorrect bill for €1500. Moral of the story, keep away from Bord gals.

Improper invoicing, smart meters

Incomprehensible final invoice with exaggerated estimation of units consumed. There is smart meter remotely read since January 2021. Why on earth do they need to estimate the units? The smart Board Gais Energy agent decided against my wish to close the account on the day of the phone call, when all I wanted it was to communicate them with enough time that the incoming bill in two days it would be the final bill, closing the account because I had move out few days ago. In a previous occasion, Bord Gais Energy blamed ESB Networks from erroneous estimation with an exponential increase of the bills from March to June. ESB Networks has provided me with the reading scheduled for the incoming bill. And I am still waiting for Bord Gais Energy to rectify and invoice the right amount. It is not the first time of improper invoicing, it is the third time. When I moved from one flat to another in the same building, Bord Gais Energy invoiced me for the two flats in November because the new tenants did not take a contract with anyone. And now it seems that Bord Gais Energy is taken money from the tenants leaving the dwellings to cover the liabilities of the landlords. or is it a new strategy to extortion tenants to stick with them by giving a fake credit feedback to the other energy suppliers ?

STAY WELL AWAY

Where do I begin. I moved into this rented house a little over a year ago and this company has their meter in this house so we decided to stay with them. Everything was fine until we decided to top up the gas for heating. I put in €130 Bord Gais took €100 off me. I rang them up and all they said was sorry the tenants before you has some det and it's OUR responsibility to pay it back. They were dog ignorant and hung up the phone on me before I could talk.

Dreadful experience with Bord Gais..

Dreadful experience with Bord Gais... Got hit with a bill for over 800 euro recently. The reason I am been given is because they have not had a meter reading since 2019 despite the fact that they had one last year when i switched to the dual fuel bundle! The excessive charge was billed to be as soon as the dual fuel 12 month contract was up so be careful everyone. They saving that they say you could be making will be billed to you at the end of your 12 month contract.

So GLAD I CHANGED PROVIDER

Nightmare of a service..... very expensive and zero customer support. The 'level pay' system is a joke ..... you're never informed of their new random figure just a text saying " its changing". So happy to be finished with them, any other electricity supplier have such a LOW BAR to reach having been a loyal customer of bord gas before

Bad customer service

I was with Bord Gáis for three years. And whenever something went wrong. No one in their customer service was ever able to provide me with information on any matter and when they did it was either wrong or one would say one thing when I called up and someone else would say something else. And we ended up like fools in the middle of it all.

Worst utility supplier in the world…

Worst utility supplier in the world possibly. I moved into new apartment in November, and as bord gais was a supplier I hate to sign is before my supplier takes over. I was with them for 10 days. Got all the closing bills and my supplier took over. 2 months later I get a random email from board gais energy that my account was successfully open. I instantly call them and said that I didn't do that as I already have a supplier and have no plans of changing. Lodge complaint to witch I never got a reference number. I had to close that account that I didn't open, they asked me for meter read before closing witch doesn't make sense as I didn't open the account and I have no idea what reading did they have in the first place. After account being open for less then a day they send me 300 euro bill. I was in the phone with every 2 weeks as they keep sending me bill for 300 euros. Lodged probably 3 complaint in total, didn't get the reference number again and again, as the customer service person that I will get it in the email and assured me that everything will be taken care off. What a lie, they stopped sending me bills but transferred that made up debt to a third party company that keeps trying to contact for a debt collection. Now in work with CRU to sort this out for me as my approach talking to them is pointless. Save your nerves and avoid any dealings with them.
