I have had an outstanding complaint unresloved since November 2024

I have had an outstanding complaint since November 2024. In the 1 year 1 was issued with two very large bills over 1k each time (I live in a 1 bed apartment and work in the office for reference) so this just did not make sense to me. The issue is still on going, that bill was suppose to be frozen until the issue was resolved but as of last week I am now down 1k as the amount was taken from my bank. I have found it very difficult or at all possible to get updates on this situation from the complaint team. the Customer service operators have tired their best to help but as there is no direct contact to the complaint team this issue is just causing unnecessary stress and anxiety.

I am really happy with the level of customer service Bord Gais provides. Also, the Electricity and Gas rates are good!

Disrespectful audience members

Went to West Side story with my daughter for her birthday. After the break those of us who had respectfully returned to our seats in time were interrupted by the late return of about 20 people who made a racket getting to their seats. I assumed if you were not in your seats in time you would not be allowed to return. Ruined the first 10 minutes of the second half for us for what was otherwise a wonderful performance and experience.

AVOID! The prices increased 400% during the…

The prices increased 400% during the period of time where the Government issued the relief. I tried to question this and got no help. My usage was lower as I bought timed plugs and was even out of the country for one month. They are stealing from their customers and getting away with it.

5 weeks delay in refund

5 weeks That's what I had to wait to get a refund of a substantial amount of money they owed me. They allowed my account to go 7 months into credit. I closed it and it took them 5 weeks to refund that money to my bank account. I work in e-commerce and a refund should only take 2-3 days. I had to contact a well known consumer rights expert in the media and they phoned bord gais on my behalf. Only then did Bord Gais sit up and take notice. I would never do business with them again. I would advise everyone else to do the same. Those of you who are still their customers check your credit levels.

Shocking

Shocking. I left this godawful company and had been paying by direct debit up to that point. Manually paid my last payment of 500 euro just to be shut of them. 2 weeks after i'd left 500 euro was again taken out by direct debit. So I rang them and they told me it was because I didn't cancel the direct debit. Why would I need to cancel it if the money had been paid!? Surely the company should have all cancelled when you leave the company and have everything paid up with them! Then I had to wait for the direct debit to clear on their side (five working days!) and then ring again for the 20th time to ask for a refund. Finally the woman on the phone tells me I'll get the money back in 10 working days! Beyond ridiculous. Don't know how these people sleep at night.

Lied about meter, charging a fee to stay with them

We moved about 2 months ago and found out last week that we have a day/night meter even though Bord Gais said it was a 24h one and only gave us a 24h rate with a 10% discount. If we had known our meter wasn't a 24h one (we didn't have access to it when we registered the move) we never would have stayed with BG. Called them up to ask to switch to a day/night plan as I can see the rates on their website but was told they don't have those plans. I then asked if we could get a bigger discount as another agent previously mentioned we could get 15% and now this agent said we can only get 15% by paying a 50 euro cancellation fee.. A CANCELLATION FEE TO STAY WITH THE SAME COMPANY?? How does that make any sense.

They took 2 payments and refuse to refund me.

I contacted Bord Gais to change my billing date. It had been set towards the end of the month, and as my wife and I get paid on the last working day of the month sometimes this would fall right before payday. I had asked to move the payment date back by 3 or 4 days to the 2nd of the following month, which they did for me. I also asked for them to confirm that my bill would be taken on the 30th of March but not again 3 days later on the 2nd of April which was confirmed in writing. Low and behold they take a payment on the 2nd of April. I contacted them about it and received an email apologising for their error and promising that they would refund me after the 12th of April. This has never happened. I have emailed them several times and I keep getting the same response, your account isn't in credit so we cannot issue a refund. Even though I was assured in writing that this payment would not be taken and that the refund would be issued. I've sent numerous emails at this point and yesterday at my request I was promised a phone call from a manager or supervisor. This never happened. They have literally stolen an extra payment from me and refuse to give it back. During an energy crisis. When people like us are struggling to cover their energy costs and these companies are making massive profits.

Boiler repair/service - no work done, but they look for money

I ordered a boiler repair (as no hot water, but heating was working). The technician came in and acknowledged that the boiler was broken (I showed him two parts that I assumed were not working properly, and he didn't check anything else). He advised to buy a new boiler and left. He did not do any other checks (nor pipes, nor rads, nor the rest part of the boiler, nothing), he didn't leave any report or notes. He was in the house for max of 15 mins. Then I received a bill of 99euro. Customer support insisted that he did a full check and was at my house 47 mins.

I think they take government support as support for them. I had an actual reading with 4 people and it costed me €360 now I’m on my own and my bill is €705 what is that ?

No show, no communication.

Bord Gais emailed me a date and time for a Boiler Service. However, nobody arrived. No phone call. No email. No communication. Is it possible to award minus stars?? I am 74 years of age and live alone and unfortunately do not have a 'pet' service engineer in my contacts.
