I have had an outstanding complaint unresloved since November 2024

I have had an outstanding complaint since November 2024. In the 1 year 1 was issued with two very large bills over 1k each time (I live in a 1 bed apartment and work in the office for reference) so this just did not make sense to me. The issue is still on going, that bill was suppose to be frozen until the issue was resolved but as of last week I am now down 1k as the amount was taken from my bank. I have found it very difficult or at all possible to get updates on this situation from the complaint team. the Customer service operators have tired their best to help but as there is no direct contact to the complaint team this issue is just causing unnecessary stress and anxiety.

I am really happy with the level of customer service Bord Gais provides. Also, the Electricity and Gas rates are good!

Disgrace of a company

Customer service department and collections admin are absolutely shocking. Calling them a week straight sending them in every detail they want and still asking for more. Just trying to remove the €1000 debt by the previous owner and actually have heat in my house but they refuse to help and then charging me for the reactivation when I’ve been told I will not be charge joke of a company

Ludicrous bill of €2500

I received a ludicrous bill of €2500, with an estimate usage of 8350kWh. After sending photographic proof of my actual reading which was for about 400kWh. How the hell this estimate was so far off is beyond me. Over a month later this still hasn't been corrected. Its always "We've escalated" or "re-escalated" the issue but nothing is done! I still have this ridiculous bill outstanding on my account. At the time Bord Gais had the cheapest option available but no discount is worth this much incompetence. Edit: this has been sorted with the latest billing cycle, but the lack of communication is still appalling. I've been stressing over this the whole last 2 months, if they'd let me know that it would be corrected this billing cycle then that would of been fine, but alas, not a word.

I believe they hire people based on…

I believe they hire people based on their inability/ unwillingness to work! Had horrible experiences with them. My gas is cut off because previous tenants closed the account and they rejected the request from the supplier I chose to switch to them. They would not send the request to GNI to unlock my meter unless i signed up with them instead of the one I chose.

An absolute horrible company to deal…

An absolute horrible company to deal with and are completely ripping people off with the current bills. My customer service issue was something out of amateur hr. Our regular gas bill would normally be €100 to €200 and we actually cut down our usage and received bills of €800 even with our cut of usage. Shop around people and stay clear of Bord Gais

Landed with a huge bill in Feb 2023 for…

Landed with a huge bill in Feb 2023 for Nov-Feb, during which I was away for at least 6 weeks, I live on my own and my usage has always been pretty steady but for this period is randomly shot up to X4 times what it was during this time period for the last three years. Of course this bill arrived a few weeks after I was changed to a smart meter so there is no way of checking that the meter was working. Anyone else having similar problems? I rang up about it and was told to "check the meter" (which is now gone) and to contact ESB. Useless

Bord gais have been robbing me blind…

Bord gais have been robbing me blind for my last two bills and I have no way to prove it. My bills have tripped and gone for e200 up to E700 just like that. No matter how many times I speak to them on the phone nothing is ever done. I'm just told this is what the reading is. I've had ESB out to check my meter and have been told that I'm not the only one having this issue with outrageous bills. We are a family of 3 and have used so little electricity for this current bill that we rarely even turned the heating on, and yet still my bill is over e600 for a tiny 2bed cottage. Can anyone help or advise what is best to do here.before this new smart meter I never had this problem before. Please help I can't afford to pay these bills.

Horrendous experience trying to get…

Horrendous experience trying to get security deposit returned on our businees direct account. Details of the payment were lost by credit control department therefore we had to provide the proof of payment. Still pursuing this almost two months later and have spent hours on the phone and emailing trying to get it sorted. Each contact involves someone new who has no idea about the background to the situation so all has to be explained each and every time. It is extraordinarily mismanaged and is the worst service provider experience I have ever encountered.

A very professional company/Dedicated.

My personal experience today over the phone was very approachable & the issue was resolved. I was onto customer service , got through within minutes to Customer Service and spoke to a real professional gentleman by the name of Patrick. He was very patient,very professional, excellent knowledge of the business he is working for. Mr.Patrick solved the issue. He also educated me in terms of how to save on bills for electricity & gas. I would highly recommend them. Well done Mr.Patrick & all staff for looking after clients like me. Absolutely 100 out of 10. Thank you.
