I have had an outstanding complaint unresloved since November 2024

I have had an outstanding complaint since November 2024. In the 1 year 1 was issued with two very large bills over 1k each time (I live in a 1 bed apartment and work in the office for reference) so this just did not make sense to me. The issue is still on going, that bill was suppose to be frozen until the issue was resolved but as of last week I am now down 1k as the amount was taken from my bank. I have found it very difficult or at all possible to get updates on this situation from the complaint team. the Customer service operators have tired their best to help but as there is no direct contact to the complaint team this issue is just causing unnecessary stress and anxiety.

(They owe me €5k!!!)

UPDATE: my issue has finally been resolved after almost 4 months. It might be coincidence that it happened as soon as I spoke about it publicly and mentioned getting legal support... (They owe me €5k!!!) As a current customer my biggest advice is: DO NOT SIGN UP WITH BORD GÁIS. Can’t give 0 stars otherwise I would. Worst customer service EVER, I’ve been waiting over 3 months to get a refund of nearly €5.000 as I was overcharged. During these months I’ve engaged in numerous emails with different staff members (Gaston, Emma, Caoimhe, Devin, Darragh, Séan, Rian, Patrick, Agneiska, Julianne) and no one was able to offer me an explanation of why this is taking so long. All I get is “We’ll escalate your request” “we’re waiting for the refunds department to update us” and just like that it’s been months. This is extremely frustrating. I have emailed, called, sent all documents required and waited and waited and nothing has been done. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! I will be closing my account as soon as my current contract expires.

Horrendous!! 365 contract can be changed after you sign the contract!!!

Horrendous - I signed up to the Boiler 365 contract in good faith. Bolier was serviced and then ten days later I got a Bord Gais letter saying my contract had been changed as requested by me!!! They put me in to the €10 per month - one service only No other support - and did not explain why!! They said the boiler (one tear old) was not up to the 365 terms. They also said "In the Small print it says we can change the terms at the discretion of the gas service engineer." I asked why was that not explained before during the visit or after and was ignorantly told 'That is in our small print - you should have read that." You sign up for a service in good faith - then get the terms changed and are told there is nothing you can do about it. BEWARE OF THIS STAY AWAY!!!!

Would recommend

Booked online and was able to pay in monthly instalments. The engineer came on time and was very good and gave us some tips on how to maintain the boiler. Overall, a very good experience, we’ll use them again

Bord Gais(Centrica PLC) not returning money they owe to ex-customers

I changed from Bord Gais(Centrica PLC) to another supplier for my gas and electricity a couple of weeks ago, I was signed up for level pay with them and I owed €344 on my gas, this money they withdrew immediately, they owed me €688 as I was in credit on my electricity bill, I waited a few weeks and when no refund was credited to me I contacted them (a nightmare), and I was assured that my money would be returned to my account, 10 days on I rang this morning to get an update and the person I was speaking to hung up on me.

I attended Alladin last Thursday 21 st March treated by my daughter for my 63rd birthday. We met a very helpful lady at the bar called "Sophie "who could not have gone out of her way more to make us welcome and polite as birthday greeting for me .

They ask by email for meter reading

They ask by email for meter reading. Website then refuses to accept it. And requires half a dozen a/c and ID items before any attention.

Extremely unhelpful

Shady, slow, unhelpful. Customer servie is a joke how long it takes, the bills are unclear and sneaky and worst of all the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing with the customer service. Team are nice, just a shame help was impossible.

Worst customer service ever

Its no wonder they are getting a one start on Trust Pilot. I could give this company 5 minus stars I would. I'm fairly experienced and professional and in all my years can honestly say I have never had worse customer service. From non-transparent contracting and billing to a 2 month issue where I continuously had to call in and got promised call backs and never getting them, to rude supervisors. We are paying HUGE bills and are good customers but they don't give a toss! Was with a different provider for 10 years and NEVER had an issue and when we moved house we decided to give BG a try.. worst mistake.. I will pay the extra and move provider. Don't know how they are still in business but DO NOT MOVE TO BG! What is still amazing me is do the senior staff at BG not care? I have no doubt they must see some of their reviews - are they sop unprofessional that they just ignore all this? Is there no pride!

Not certain if I can give a "nil point"

Not certain if i can give Bord Gais a nil point. Everyone that gave them 1 forced rating is quite upset. How can a company that practices with such ill intent for their customers continue to thrive. We have been customers with this coy for at least 15 years for everything energy and more so for their exhorbitant boiler services. The one time we missed our service, they made us pay dearly. The refused to re-sign us up for the 365 care until certain designated parts were changed. However, for the past 3 or 4 years or more, they have cancelled our appointments with no prior notice making it really difficult for one to plan adequately. This past year i tried to book with the home care team but they said it was too early. I later called the customer service later and was told it was already booked for late Jan. We made adjustments to our schedule to be there for this service and again without notice, they did not turn up. We called customer service and got rebooked for the end of February. The Engineer finally came in late Feb had loads of complaints about the age of boiler and the flue but did jack all to care for the boiler. Instead, he left us worse off than we ever were, with a now leaking valve and missing cap for flue which were never issues before this engineers' arrival. He issued a hazard and ended his home care service in less than 30 minutes and left. 2 calls later, to customer service, and we were told that they couldn't work on our boiler until an "RGI certified Engineer" deems it safe. This is also supposedly the caliber of engineers they purport they are sending to our homes. Am I missing something? I may have possibly cared for this boiler better myself. To put ones' faith in the hands of callous people with dubious tendencies is scary... To say that I'm pissed is an understatement. Could this be a particular staff wrecking havoc or is this just a company-wide intent to get rid of old boilers?
