2FA driving me mad & not needed

I am fed up of having to setup 2 factor authentication, to view the dna section of the already logged in account, it is purely for their benefit. I login via my PC, mobile AND the Mac, I can turn it off on my pc, but have to set it to access via my iPhone This means that I will be closing the account after several years as a contributor and to think I was going to upgrade to pro. So you want us to not delete cookie as no doubt that is how you set it rather than in my profile, good for you so you can then track us irrespective of my own personal security of regular deletions of browsing data (often place of spam ware etc) even deleting the dna data, you still hold info to share with others.

Uneventful- seems like if you want to know who you could be related to it costs $$$. I guess I’m from Europe. Pretty broad span.

Fee, Fee, Fee

I knew I was of Irish and German origin, but I had hoped there would be some additional information I could obtain through the DNA process. It seems like every other bit of information carries an extra/separate charge.

Very disappointed in my DNA report as it gives very little information. I thought it would be more indepth information for the price and I'm certainly not paying anymore. Most of the traits weren't even correct. Wish I hadn't bothered as I was excited to do this but I've got no actual useful information. Even the so called cousins definitely aren't as both sides of my family are small so I know who my cousins are!

Incredible data with very dated tools

Ancestry has a remarkable repository of data, and has made a profound contribution to genealogy over the years. So if you've never done any genealogical research, this is a powerful place to start and you will have a four star experience. On the other hand, if you've been at it a while, as I have, Ancestry has merely plodded along as a tool. Its search capabilities have not changed appreciably in 20 years despite at least two new generations of search technology being commonplace on the web since they created their search- hence 2 stars. There is so much more that could be gleaned from their data, but they are down the rabbit hole on DNA features that have nothing to do with genealogy. Even there, their testing could be much more valuable on the Y-DNA (paternal) side, but their testing seems to favor mitochondrial DNA (mother's side). But they can tell you if your pee smells after you eat asparagus. Seriously. How does that help genealogical research?

Disappointing

Disappointing. I got this as a Mother’s Day gift but the results don’t tell you a great deal. It access any more information then you need to pay extra. Waste of money in my opinion.

Registration process isn’t a good experience

I’m coming from 23andMe, and the experience so far is disappointing. First the app refused to activate my kit unless I created a new account, and then I got an email a two days ago saying that my analysis is done, the the app claims that it’s it’s not. It took 3 attempts to set up multi-factor authentication, and it only worked when I gave up on using MS Authenticator, which works fine for every other service. I’m hoping that things smooth out if I ever get my results. I’m hoping that the interface makes more sense once there are results, but I’m apprehensive.

Piecing together lineage

I really love being able to piece together my lineage. The ability to ask for help from others that may be in your family tree is nice. I do wish there were more hints and features available without the monthly fee.

My oldest sister (Sylvia) born in 1941 & u report on someone born in 1940. I have another brother & he's not mentioned at all. I would like a refund.
