Claro, aquí tienes la traducción al inglés del comentario: --- I purchased the DNA kit from Argentina and had multiple issues. First, the kit took much longer than expected to arrive. I couldn’t track it on the Ancestry website. In fact, I contacted them, and they told me they would send another kit. A few days later, the kit arrived, but I couldn’t activate it because it was the original one they had already deactivated. When I called customer support, they didn’t seem to know much, and I had to pay customs duties twice. They refused to take responsibility. Finally, when I tried to ship the DNA sample, the postal service required me to go to customs and present a medical certificate because it contained human material. Everything was very complicated. In the end, I had a relative traveling to Spain who mailed it from there. It took me over 5 months from the time I bought the kit to when I finally received the results.
I have attempted to discover why I cannot access my information on here, but despite numerous emails, I have had NO response. My experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth. If there was a ZERO str rating, I would have clicked on it. To sum up, my experience has been a complete waste of money, and quite frankly, it has been disappointing. Maybe it's because I'm based in Vietnam?.....
I cannot log in to ancestry now that my data is in place
When I looked at my DNA matches, I realized my cousin had also completed a DNA test. I got the impression it was a gift to him from the kids/grandkids and our family has always been about the children!!!. In general, my family has always been more private and guarded. What lead me to Ancestry was the fact that Ancestry's main business model is helping people find their family tree and DNA is fairly new tool an arsenal of many. (For other companies DNA is their main business.) I was also looking for confirming documentation of a connection to relatives in a time when the documentation was sparse. I was only able to obtain a few documents, but none that proved a relationship with my grandfather’s brother. When I looked at my DNA results, I found cousins that were direct descendants of my grandfather's brother, my grand uncle. It was a confirmation of some of the family stories. I was also able to confirm the connection to my great grandfather’s mother's family. I had located a census that had my great grandfather, his mother and his half-sisters. I knew he was married later in the same city as the census. What was difficult was reaching back to his mother's family, other than the census document’s I was able to find. I found a last will and testament by one of my great great grandmother’s sisters, with all of her sister’s names. I reached out to the Surrogates Court I was able to obtain the documents that proved my great grandmother was part of that family. The DNA was a bonus! I am genetically related to my great great grandmother’s sister's family. It was a confirmation! My only wish is that people who have their DNA done take a moment to put together a tree. Yourself, your siblings, parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. I can assure you living people’s names, as long as you make sure the toggle for living is on, do not show up on another person’s site, even if you have a public profile. I checked!!! I put my sibling’s names in and my cousin checked her Ancestry and, on her site, it showed “private” for living people. The more people in a family that add a tree with the people they know, the more everyone in the family can connect back to their ancestor's!
I have used ancestry.com on and off for years. I have quit using them because their price continuously increases and customer service has declined. Today they charged me for an account that I had already cancelled and they refused to refund my money. Credit card company is taking care of it. Also, their DNA test is a joke. Stay away from this company they are nothing but scam artists.
Difficulty Listing Spouses
I didn’t know that I had so much cousin and where my family comes from. Thank you for this opportunity to learn more about them
I was expecting more of a process, it seems that you’re trying to sell me something more than what I’m trying to accomplish, and a hard time reading your statements about myself and where I come from.
Knowing my DNA
Saludos.
I CANOT find /get my DNA file!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been trying for a week..i ge the message "ACCESS DENIED"
You ripped me off. You took out $99 from my account he second month, and it wasn't suppose to be hat much. Also, I haven't sent my kit in yet, nor have I used your services yet. I will be sending my kit Tuesday. You owe me that!! The end of April.
I wasn’t to happy I did my DNA and got the results and I had a free trial for 1.00 for 3 months and I was charged $39.99 and you were supposed to give me a refund and you never did
I bought the DNA test and it was not useful. Ancestry asked if I wanted to apply the results to my tree. I said no. All of a sudden my tree disapeared and it wanted me to begin listing my family by each person again. I had over 4000 entries at the time.
viewing photos of my grandfather, his brother and other relatives was a very special moment.
I signed up thinking I would have access to my family tree. Instead, I received minimal information as a teaser to sign up to pay (>$200 per year, ongoing) for the real information. This is deceptive and I regret signing up in the first place.
Haven't received my results yet but feeling a bit played by the £9.99 faster process item,I wouldnt recommend using it as they state 6 weeks for results ( it's not guaranteed) but 2 weeks into my purchase DNA + TRAITS i thought I'd get this as it will speed it up after paying I get notified it will now only take 4 weeks? I'm 2 weeks in already so totally pointless and a waste. I've also had an estimated results date 15th June which is longer than the original 6 weeks I expected to wait. Can't comment on outcome as results not here yet but just my option not to be taken in by the faster process
Simple from start to finish .Thank You !
Ansestry DNA has been a great guide in unlocking my family tree & facts about my family.
