Team 3, cheerful despite it being the last job on a humid day! All completed and tidy. Thanks Wessex 😀
Good job Ruby.
So there are a few teething problems but the customer service department when I have spoken to the have been helpful. The team who set it up were friendly and very quick service. Negatives it went down for a day around Christmas and unlike large companies the help desk is closed which is ok (ish) for home but not sure for a business. Speed is as expected but we have only been with them for 3 weeks now so hard to comment long term.
My experience to date has been wonderful. Those I have dealt with have been friendly and accommodating. Ally needs a special shoutout for his friendliness, neat work and his general attitude. He talked me though everything and explained what he was doing and most importantly why. He bent over backwards to do the best he could. I now have blistering fast internet. Thank you all at Wessex Internet.
We have had a Wessex Internet wireless connection for a few years now, which is okay, much better than the old BT connection. We have been waiting for a fibre connection which we have been told for a long time is "in the planning stage" but have had no word of when this may happen. Today I saw online that my address was eligible for a fibre connection - "Great" I thought. I phoned up to see when this was likely to happen and was told "well, it probably won't be this year or next year . . .". This is extremely frustrating, why plaster the fact that you are eligible for something that is not there, and won't be there for the foreseeable future. It is really frustrating, especially for those neighbours of ours who cannot see the wireless dish to get even a reasonable internet connection, they are stuck at the slow BT rate of 7Mb/s while being promised much much more - if you wait for a loooooooong time. The staff at Wessex are great, they understand that some people are not idiots when things go wrong, but the marketing of the fibre broadband seems a little dishonest, promising things that are not available now or anytime soon.
OK when it's working, but they are the least reliable ISP I have ever had. Outages are much more frequent than they would like you to believe and they give very little information about issues. A recent outage of many hours was never explained. As I write, their DNS servers are down, but the only information on the status page is that there is a power outage. If a power failure has really brought down their DNS servers, the Wessex Internet system architects should be ashamed of themselves.
Don’t waste your time and money on having this 2nd rate fibre connection. Had it two weeks and constantly calling the help desk to fix the drops in internet service. It might be fast when it works, however, most days it’s failed and requires assistant to get it working again. Will now dance and go back to old slower copper fiber that’s at least realisable.
Good afternoon Our fibre phone has not worked for 4days, this is the third time in six months this as happened. The good news is two members of Wessex Internet have been so helpful. They are Graham Merritt and Stephanie Newman. I am 86 years old and am still quite capable of working on classic cars. I am not so good with ELECTRONICS. They talked me through which cables to remove and replace. The phones are now working, so all credit to them. Thankyou from Colin Gosney.
Answered my query in pleasant and helpful way
From the start of my first contact to the end of instation Wessex were superb in their communication and professionalism. Dan installed on the day and I would like to say he was just brilliant. Thank you, I now have super fast Internet .
There was an issue with the download speed, and within a very short period of time, Graham Merritt Network Support Team Lead, called me back. Unfortunately I was in the middle of a field at the time, so Graham said he would wait for me to return the call. When i rang back, he was waiting, and within minutes he had resolved the issue. Thank you Graham.
Very good service as always by Wessex Internet staff - from the guys laying the cables through to the staff connecting the house through to the staff in the office helping connect the booster hub. Many thanks to Lucy in the office for her help talking us through the booster…
Being a fairly newcomer i admire the way that the company puts politeness and immediate response to any correspondence
It’s wonderful to have the full speed broadband we have heard so much about it is a transformation, we have had a few problems but all handled well with a full explanation of the problem and the solution to them, it has been a good experience, thank you all for the hard work in this installation
Installing high speed broadband in a Grade II listed church involves satisfying the Diocese that there will be no negative impact on the graveyard or the fabric of the building. WI made a video of the route to be taken and of the entry point (an existing ventilation cover) and the permission was eventually granted. The mole-ploughing was very neatly done but we hit real difficulties in passing the fibre through the 70cm thick walls. Chris from the installation team persisted rather than asking us to sort out the problem. He completed a very tidy job and left it working which it continues to do. Our congregation is impressed and very happy with the new facility.
From the guy at the door who introduced me to Wessex Internet about 8 months ago to switching on my ultra fast broadband yesterday its been a real pleasure .The phone line guys Outside garden gang Indoor fitter all have been exemplary. Brilliant service all round.
The complete experience with Wessex was excellent. Although they did not realise at first that the large junction box they wanted to install for the neighbourhood was actually on my land not the council’s they very quickly apologised for the oversight, asked for permission, and offered an attractive incentive. The installation of our own internet was smooth with minimal disturbance to our garden or house. The speed is spot on near the router and, although I have yet to check out the speed at all suitable points in our old stone built cottage I have complete confidence in Wessex sorting any signal issues. Top marks so far!
Our fibre broadband connection was completed on Friday last week. the technician , Daniel, who carried out the installation was exemplary. However our property has very thick cob walls and I had informed Wessex that we were bound to need booster units. So I was surprised that these had to be ordered after the installation and that the need for the, had to be proven by a speed measurement . To save time I collected them from their office. I ran into problems connecting them but the support team ( Ruby and colleagues) have been extremely patient and helped me through the process. It’s really pleasant to be able to speak to someone in this county not in a far away call handling setup. Our broadband speed is very much as we hoped for . I have no hesitation in recommending Wessex and indeed have already done so.
The garden team and the gentleman who installed our fibre were professional, courteous, tidy and communicated at all stages of our installation. Thanks to all the team, including Tyler.
After many years with a national British telecoms supplier for broadband, TV, and a wireless telephone system including a direct connection to a security alarm centre, I had become the cash cow! I was rather nervous about changing everything. No problems - installation went as clockwork, a new TV box (no more monthly charge !!) a sizzling broadband (old fibre plus a bit of wire for the last few metres !) and a new Gigaset DEC phone setup connecting directly into the ONT and the security line connecting directly into the router. And a great telephone package to use to speak to overseas relatives. And a big overall monthly savings. Thank you Wessex Internet.
Brilliant install from Tiago went out of his way to hide cables, in fact brilliant service from the whole of the Wessex internet team so far every interaction has been good.
