Review summary

Team RH receives a mixed reception from its users, with a notable divide in experiences. While some customers praise the app and commend the friendly and helpful staff, particularly highlighting excellent customer service, others express frustration over the company's contract practices. Many reviewers feel misled by the lack of clarity regarding the 12-month commitment, believing they were signing up for a monthly subscription. Complaints about aggressive communication and difficulty in canceling memberships are prevalent, with several users labeling the experience as a scam. Despite the positive feedback from a portion of users who appreciate the app's functionality and support, the overwhelming sentiment reflects dissatisfaction with the company's policies. Overall, Team RH struggles with significant trust issues among its customer base.

Feel scammed

I signed up thinking this was a monthly subscription I could cancel easily, but it turns out there’s a 12-month minimum term that wasn’t made clear at the time. I was told to cancel by stopping the Direct Debit, which gave me the impression I could end the subscription when I wanted. The actual process for cancelling is confusing, and customer service simply refers to the small print in the Terms and Conditions. I haven’t used the service much and feel the sign-up process was misleading.

We need a zero star option here ! What a joke! Since when is this even legal to get people to sign up for your APP and tie them In for 12 months! Let’s face it, you app doesn’t compare to others! Can’t even recognise a bag of Spinach from Aldi! Told CS (if you can call them that) I was having a operation, they would only accept a letter from a GP stating I couldn’t follow a calorie controlled diet, advised them I have all the documents regarding my operation but this wasn’t enough !! Now signed in for a 12 contract which I can’t and don’t use

12 month contract! Be Warned!

Signed up for what I thought was just a monthly payment that I could cancel should I not wish to use it. The app is not very good and I did not use it so cancelled my direct debit to then be hounded by the customer services stating that it is a 12 month contract and they will seek legal action. It was in no way shape or form clear at point of purchase it was a 12 month contract unless you specifically look for it. Extremely disappointing when I am not using the product and now have a fitness coach so do not even need it. There is no understanding from their team either they just don’t care.

If there was an option to leave 1 star…

If there was an option to leave 1 star I would. I wish I'd taken the time to read the reviews before engaging with this company. They send a lot of very friendly messages to get you signed up, what is not made clear is that as soon as you open the app you WAIVE YOUR CONSUMER RIGHTS AND CANNOT CANCEL UNTIL THE CONTRACT IS PAID IN FULL Essentially you are tied in to a contract with them for 12 months regardless. I tried to cancel after three days, no one contacted me after this until I received a threatening email advising I'd breached my contract and unless I reinstated the direct debit or paid the contract in full I would be subject to legal action. Their customer service at this stage turns quite nasty and intimidating, they are not reasonable and after a couple of messages said they were not willing to engage in the matter further. Their T&C's when you find them (the link they sent me didn't work) essentially rewrite your consumer rights. I've had no choice but to reinstate my direct debit or risk debt recovery! Since reinstating the messages have gone to being "friendly" however I've since received a further email this morning threatening the debt recovery. I'd be very careful before signing up to Team RH.

Avoid

Think EXTREMELY carefully before joining. The service is presented in a way that feels like a standard monthly subscription, but it operates as a fixed-term contractual agreement. In my experience, the level of commitment and the implications of cancelling were not made sufficiently clear or prominent at the point of sign-up. When I attempted to cancel, my communications were ignored. It was only after cancelling my direct debit through my bank that I received a response — in the form of a pre-recorded YouTube video from the owner warning about breach of contract. The video has over 12,000 views, which suggests this situation is far from uncommon. The cancellation process was not straightforward, and the tone of the communication felt intimidating rather than helpful. Instead of constructive dialogue, the focus was on warnings of legal consequences. I contacted the company within my 14-day cooling-off period, yet those emails were ignored. The overall handling left me feeling pressured and stressed over what is, ultimately, a fitness app subscription. Ask yourself: is any app worth receiving threatening legal-style emails over when you try to cancel? Consumers deserve transparency and fair, responsive communication — particularly when entering into financial commitments online. I would strongly recommend reading every single term carefully and fully understanding the contractual nature of the agreement before signing up. For the record, nothing in the app is unique or useful enough, in my opinion, to risk this level of stress of pressure. You can get extremely similar for less. Competitors like My fitness pal aren't going to threaten to take you to court for stopping your subscription to their app

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!!

I concur with all of the other one star reviews here. This company is so awful. Morally wrong, poor app and an absolute rip off. I wish the others that are taking this company down the trading standards route the very best of luck. Team RH you should be working on your business model rather than needing to spend so much time making threats to customers and responding to these one star posts. There’s a reason you have such a poor rating. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!

Please don’t fall for this scam…

Please don’t fall for this scam company. As soon as I joined I realised that the app was not for me. They would not let me cancel, saying by Email that I was in a 12 month contract, and that I had to pay for the rest of the year in full. No grace period. I’d been joined less than 12 hours. There is no contact number to ring, and they stopped responding to my email. They took the 2nd months pay out of my bank account. I started a dispute with my bank and cancelled the direct debit. They are now threatening to take me to court and threatening that it will affect my credit score. It’s a scam company. They do not act like any decent company would do. Do not join if you have any doubt that calorie counting is for you!

The best investment in myself

I joined almost 6 weeks ago and have lost 11lbs. I’m obviously delighted with the weight loss but the biggest win for me has been the change in mindset, improved health and mood and just generally being much more knowledgable about what my body needs to be at its best. The app is easy to use and includes recipes (which are so nice and really easy to make) and tips. Worth every penny and more, I’m saving on take aways and junk food anyway! My only regret is not signing up sooner.

Complete lifestyle change

My weight loss journey with Team RH has been simple, manageable, and genuinely life-changing. This isn’t a diet — it’s a complete lifestyle overhaul. I started on 6th January 2025, and to date I’ve lost 45.87 lbs. The app has been like a bible to me. It’s incredibly smart, intuitive, and well designed. You genuinely don’t need any other apps or gadgets because everything you need is right there. The coaches have always been there whenever I’ve needed support. Their advice is second to none — I’d strongly encourage anyone to trust them because their knowledge is outstanding. This is not a magic fix. You have to put in the work to see results, but the rewards are absolutely worth it. I am now the fittest and healthiest I’ve been in a long time, and I feel so much happier and more comfortable in my own skin. I’m nearing my goal and fully intend to continue using the app for maintenance. I love the Team RH approach. It’s not for everyone, but I personally find the honest, straight-talking, and direct posts on Facebook both refreshing and highly motivating.

The app itself is very basic

The app itself is very basic, but the real issue is the subscription process. It’s not made clear that you’re signing up for a monthly subscription, and there’s no obvious cooling-off period. Given that the Advertising Standards Authority has upheld previous complaints about similar practices in the industry, you would expect better transparency. After attempting to cancel, I received threats of being referred to debt collectors and warnings that it would affect my credit rating. This feels like scare tactics designed to pressure people into paying rather than resolving disputes fairly. I would strongly advise others to read the terms carefully before signing up.

Delivery issue

I had an issue with delivery of a product and while the delivery company were extremely unhelpful the staff at RH could not be more supportive and reassuring. Special thank to Carriann and Emma for keeping me so well informed throughout what could have been a very stressful journey but ended with a successful outcome.

12-month contract buried in the small print!!

Hugely disappointed! Be aware: if you choose the £7.99 “pay monthly” option, you are signing up to a 12-month minimum commitment!! TEAM RH markets itself as a brand that stands up for people. They call out trolls, speak loudly about integrity and position themselves as straight talking and transparent. That’s exactly why I signed up. I chose the £7.99 pay monthly option expecting a standard monthly subscription. After downloading the app, I realised it wasn’t what I thought it would be, so I went to cancel. That’s when I was told I’m locked into a 12-month minimum commitment and that it’s buried in clause 15 of the terms. Clause 15!! Who reads every clause of small print when signing up to a fitness app? This isn’t a mortgage application. A year long financial commitment should be clearly presented at the point of purchase, not hidden in legal text behind a small “see terms” link. If a 12-month minimum term is the policy, fine. Just make it obvious before people click buy. Don’t market it like a simple monthly option and then rely on a clause deep in the terms when someone tries to leave. It’s such a shame. I was such a fan of what this brand claimed to stand for. But this experience feels completely at odds with the values they promote. Very disappointing!

They fraudulently attempt to take money

I signed up to Team RH on 21 December and after trying the app I decided it wasn’t for me as the app itself isn’t great. I emailed to cancel on 1 January, which was within the 14-day cooling-off period set out in their own Terms & Conditions. Despite cancelling within that period, payments continued to be taken from my bank account. When I contacted them, I was told I was still tied into a 12-month commitment. Their terms state customers can cancel within 14 days, however this was not honoured in my case and the charges continued. I had to raise a claim through my bank under the Direct Debit Guarantee, which was upheld and the payments refunded as unauthorised. I also struggled to get clear responses to my emails and found communication very difficult, while still receiving automated warning messages requesting payment and threatening legal action even after the refund. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise anyone considering signing up to either not bother and download a better app, or carefully read the cooling-off section of the Terms & Conditions and keep copies of all correspondence.

I’ve been with Team RH for a year now…

I’ve been with Team RH for a year now and honestly, it’s been life-changing. Before joining, I’d already managed to lose 23lbs on my own — but I was constantly hungry, felt restricted all the time, and eventually hit a plateau. I didn’t feel strong, and it definitely wasn’t sustainable. Since joining Team RH, I’ve lost nearly 50lbs in total and the difference this time has been incredible. I’m eating foods I actually enjoy, I’m not starving myself, and I’ve built healthier habits that I can genuinely maintain long term. It’s completely changed my relationship with food — no extremes, no guilt, just balance and consistency. The coaches are also incredibly supportive whenever you reach out. You never feel like you’re on your own — there’s always guidance, encouragement and accountability when you need it, which makes such a difference. I feel stronger than I ever have, both physically and mentally. My energy is better, my confidence is higher, and I genuinely feel amazing. This hasn’t just been about weight loss — it’s been a full lifestyle change with the right support and guidance behind me. If you’re thinking about joining Team RH, do it. It’s sustainable, realistic, and it works. I couldn’t recommend them enough 🙌

App is solid

App is solid, best one i've used but also missing some basic features. Recipe sharing for members (some sort of QR export/import) and food scanner on the main page (its annoying having to pretend to log a food to scan something while shopping for example) Program wise seems solid, im down like 8lbs in the first 6 weeks which im happy with, im never hungry and feel better then i ever have on any of the normall calorie cutters, members group is good, liam sharpes videos are always good. Wasnt overly impressed with the coach feedback, i weigh everything (like take the scales out lol) and if i cant find it on the app i just weigh the closest thing, how ever my feedback seemed to take issue with the fact i like to be constsitant, so 1 spoon of sugar is 5g, i chuck my cup on the scale and always hit 5g, but apparently that means im not weighing stuff coz i always go to 5g, similer story with stuff i put in my yogurt cant be i like similer amounts daily, i must just be making it up, might video everything for the next check in.....but shouldnt be made to feel a liar. So 4* instead of 5* for me Also its a 12 month sub, alot of reviews mark them down like its a scam company for that, but its all there in black and white, maybe people should read a bit more before going full karen on here about being locked in, no one forced ya to sign up.

Great app

Great app, I'm losing weight slowly but surely. I've tried lots of other diets, lost weight but put it back on. Teamrh are great, the app tells you exactly what your food contains, you can keep track of everything you do, to eating and exercising. No food is off limits, it's just mindset. I would definitely recommend to anyone, and at only £7.99 a month, bargain
