12-month contract buried in the small print!!

Hugely disappointed! Be aware: if you choose the £7.99 “pay monthly” option, you are signing up to a 12-month minimum commitment!! TEAM RH markets itself as a brand that stands up for people. They call out trolls, speak loudly about integrity and position themselves as straight talking and transparent. That’s exactly why I signed up. I chose the £7.99 pay monthly option expecting a standard monthly subscription. After downloading the app, I realised it wasn’t what I thought it would be, so I went to cancel. That’s when I was told I’m locked into a 12-month minimum commitment and that it’s buried in clause 15 of the terms. Clause 15!! Who reads every clause of small print when signing up to a fitness app? This isn’t a mortgage application. A year long financial commitment should be clearly presented at the point of purchase, not hidden in legal text behind a small “see terms” link. If a 12-month minimum term is the policy, fine. Just make it obvious before people click buy. Don’t market it like a simple monthly option and then rely on a clause deep in the terms when someone tries to leave. It’s such a shame. I was such a fan of what this brand claimed to stand for. But this experience feels completely at odds with the values they promote. Very disappointing!
