Horrible experience. Will not being coming back. Was denied the rental and was told I would not get a refund. Was forced to get insurance and told I couldn’t used my card

Shuttle called 5 times and never showed Reserved a ford escape and got a nissan kix Had a rate of $40/day and ended up $60/day

After 3 weeks car returned no deposit refunded. Unable to talk to anyone, their phones system give you few options but its a endless circle. I am reporting them to consumer protection. They charged in US dollars while being in Canada Montreal, charged extra for driving through other provinces WTF!!! This business needs to be shutdown ..... oh please don't reply to m i can contact costumer care. This is not how we do business in Canada Shame on you.

Shuttle service was on-point in Commerce City CO. Kalki was very helpful and accommodating with excellent customer service. She was very efficient and quick on her feet in navigating through the busy hour. The facility runs well and employs great personnel!

I arrived and had to wait approximately 2 hours to get my vehicle. On top of that, they charge you additional fees for gluing outside of the state. I also received an additional $40 charge and I have no ideal what it was for. I will never go back to this rental place again. It was chosen online through Priceline and never again. The staff however, was extremely pleasant despite this being a terrible business to do business with.

I rented a car from the Atlanta, GA airport location. I would NEVER rent from this company again. I reserved a car with Routes Car Rental because of the price, but I ended up paying double the rental costs because I was forced to use their rental insurance. I usually use my car insurance instead of the insurance provided by the rental agency. Typically, I have no problem with simply providing a copy of my insurance card, and I am then allowed to use my own insurance as coverage on the rental. However, at this location, I was asked to supply the declaration page from my car insurance company so that they could view the liability limits on my personal car coverage. Who carries around the declaration page of their car insurance? I had the proof of insurance card, but that was not good enough. In addition, if I had been able to provide my declaration page, my personal car, which I am insuring, was required to be a model 2020 or newer. I wouldn't have been able to use my personal insurance if my vehicle was a 2019 or older model. I have rented from many rental car companies, and I have never encountered this type of policy.

Don’t rent car from this company because the staff lady use cheat means to charge customer twice. On 3/26/25 to 04/01/25 I ordered a rental car from routes car rental company in Chicago airport through Orbitz and paid the fee in full of $299.09 but when I pickup the car on 3/26/25 and showed the contract to the African American lady who worked in front of desk ,the contract has this company confirmation number & Orbitz itinerary number, she took my confirmation paper putting on side and asked me fill out another form ,I told her I already paid the rent fees in full to Orbitz which associated to the routes car rental company ,but she consistently asked me to sign the form and told me it’s mandatory according their company rules, I am 76 years old and lack rental experience so I signed the form to pick up the car that I need it, that was they charged me again for $432.85 on the next day. I contacted them many times to explain the situation and asked them refund the extra charge but they ignored my this reasonable request. I think this is the dishonest and worst car rent company in the United States of America . I have evidences to support my this complaint.

Expérience catastrophique avec cette agence lors de notre séjour au Canada. Dès notre arrivée, tous les clients présents sur place — que ce soit pour récupérer ou déposer leur voiture — avaient un problème. Tous. Ce n’était pas un cas isolé. Pour notre part, on a dû payer près de 100€ de frais supplémentaires pour récupérer la voiture, sans explication claire. Le tarif affiché en ligne n’a absolument rien à voir avec ce qu’on a réellement payé. On avait pourtant vérifié avec eux lors de la prise du véhicule : les kilomètres étaient censés être illimités dans le Québec, seuls les trajets en dehors de cette zone devaient être facturés. On a respecté cela scrupuleusement, mais au retour, ils nous ont quand même facturé des kilomètres supplémentaires injustifiés, alors qu’on était bien revenus rouler uniquement dans le Québec. Cerise sur le gâteau : on rend la voiture un jour en avance, avec plus d’essence qu’à la prise en charge, et malgré cela, ils chipotent, ils nous font attendre plus de deux heures pour « finaliser » la restitution. Aucun document clair ne nous est fourni, juste des promesses à l’oral : que tout est OK, que la caution sera intégralement remboursée, etc. Finalement, ils ont bien remboursé la caution… mais nous ont ensuite prélevé 60€ sans aucune justification, sans retour à nos deux mails de relance. Aucun service client, aucune transparence, aucun respect du client. Bref, c’est une agence peu fiable, aux pratiques douteuses. On a compris très vite en arrivant que ce n’était pas sérieux, et tous les clients présents semblaient subir la même chose. ⚠️ Je déconseille fortement cette agence. Arnaques, frais cachés, mauvaise foi et mépris du client. Vous risquez de payer bien plus que ce que vous aviez prévu.

Dishonest - didn't adjust my credit card charges, since they didn't have a car w GPS. The one I used didn't even have cruise control. They asked for proof of insurance and 2nd form of ID which they never disclosed in my confirm email. They just want to add extra insurance charges when not needed. It took me over an hour and still not resolved. They have good prices and that's it. I called and put on hold, but they never answered the phone.

I rented a car from them at their Montreal airport office. The online reservation process was straight forward and routes.ca kept me well informed through additional emails, setting out the terms of the contract, the pick up process, and their shuttle service to and from the airport. Both pick up and drop off three days later were quick and easy. Part of the process involved recording the condition of the car by taking photographs, and I appreciated their transparency by emailing me both complete sets, after pick up and after drop off. The car was almost new and super clean. I can definitely recommend this company and will use them again if the occasion arises.
