Excellent car, friendly staff and good service
Amazing experience.
Listen to the reviews and do not book! I booked through a 3rd party for pick up at the Denver airport. I wasn't given the rental company name until I received the voucher 48 hours before our reservation which at that point, it was too late to cancel. If you do go with them, bring not only your car insurance card BUT also the declarations page that show you have collision and comprehensive insurance. Apparently, that's how they get most people to purchase not only Route's insurance, but the additional collision insurance which runs about $40 a day. Luckily from reading reviews, I made sure to bring those items. Pick up for us went very smoothly. So, I thought we were in the clear. There was a crack in the windshield that I made sure to video during pickup. During our 4 days stay in Colorado, where it snowed and sleeted most of the trip, somehow the windshield cracked in a new spot. So, shocker when I go to drop off the vehicle, they inform me that yes, they were aware of the previous crack in the windshield, but I would be charged my whole $500 deposit for the new crack. Mind you, there was already one crack (different spot), it was 60 degrees the day we picked up the rental and during our stay, temps got as low as 10 degrees, plus sleet/ice throughout the trip. So, you combine all of those factors, one can very easily see how we got the short end of the deal when it came to getting charged $500 for an already cracked windshield. You think you're saving money by using them, but just like everyone else has said, the initial discount/cheap price you get when booking, will not be the final price paid. Had I just booked straight through an actual good car rental place vs trying to find the cheapest, I would have saved at minimum $300 in the long run. Don't walk, run away from this rental agency.
Mr.King was super helpful and very courteous.
Really slow. We’ve been in line for about an hour. After waiting for an hour getting hollered at, getting a cat with a cracked windshield and paying $40 /day “required insurance” Never ever am I going back
Straight forward clear process at excellent pricing.
I had an outstanding experience at Routes thanks to Zee! From the moment I walked in, they provided friendly, professional, and efficient service. They took the time to understand my needs, offered helpful recommendations, and ensured I got the perfect vehicle for my trip. The car was clean, well-maintained, and ready to go when I arrived. Zee went above and beyond to make the process seamless, answering all my questions with patience and a smile. Their exceptional customer service made renting a car stress-free. I highly recommend Routes and especially Zee for anyone looking for a smooth, hassle-free rental experience. I will definitely be returning in the future!
Everything was fine but had to buy liability insurance although I believed I was covered through credit card and car insurance so in Canadian $ it was just under $700 however not bad for 3 weeks and had peace of mind.Bring your quarters. We went through 2 tolls not attended for 1$ each..I mailed a $2us check to toll company but then Routes charged me $52 us or $77 Canadian.Learned a lesson I guess.Going back to Florida in April..I’ll flip a coin to see if we go that Routes again. E.G.
No comment for now. We haven't gotten to our destination yet. We'll update our review after our trip this coming July.
Customer service was rude upon returning vehicle
TLDR- just pay for the more expensive companies that are established. It’ll save you so much time when you arrive after a long flight. Picking this place cost us an hour and a half and my good mood. Never in all the countries I’ve traveled to have I been questioned to show my entire auto insurance contract - the man did not accept my American insurance id he needed to see proof of Canadian rental coverage in writing which of course isn’t on the ID form and I don’t have my full contract on hand? He even asked us to call our insurance company so he could speak to the agent himself because he didn’t trust our word on it? I told him id take the liability if anything happened to the car and he said no. Enterprise, hertz, Avis— none of them make you go through this as they trust the customer and their insurance ID card and also allow the person to be liable for any damages in the off chance you didn’t have coverage out of country… so alls that to say, that took an entire hour after also taking 30 min to even get to the place from the airport.
SID was amazing and helped me quickly and answered all my questions! Also got a brand new upgrade at a exceptional deal
Sid provides really great rentals at best price as compared to other rental agencies. Must visit.
I would give this company ZERO stars. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. We pre-paid for a rental from Atlanta Airport for 7 days. Fine print said that it had unlimited mileage, no issues with out of state travel and if you provide your return ticket information, they won't charge a huge deposit. With this information we felt it was all right to pay for it with the non-refundable/non-returnable option. Bad Idea. When we got there, we were quoted an $80/day insurance, $16/day for going out to the state of Georgia AND $1500-$2000 deposit even though we did provided our return information. Also we are Canadians so their numbers were in USD. Upset and distressed that we could not afford it, we called other rental companies whom did NOT have these charges. During all of this we were in contact with Priceline, who tried to help us, but @Routes Car Rental did not budge. Now it is in the hands of our credit card company. What a nightmare!
Great patience with a worried traveller. Got me the car I needed with as little hassle as possible
The staff didn't know anything about online reservations. I was asked to pay an additional fee even though I had already paid in advance. Furthermore, the price was different from the price online. There was no explanation of insurance in advance, and it took an hour and a half before I was finally able to get the car. There was no explanation when I returned the car, and it was closed so I couldn't return it. I don't think I'll use it again.
Friendly staff and easy to pick up the car.
The gentleman I spoke with couldn’t understand what I was saying and kept asking me to repeat myself, so after repeating myself several times I ended the call and booked online. Much quicker and easier.
Sid looked after me promptly and got me home to my family asap quick as possible. Always a great experience
I had an awful experience with this car insurance company. The customer service was unhelpful and slow to respond to my claims. It's been over 3 months and they hold my $250 deposit. I have to call my credit card bank to dispute the charge. Also I had two car insurance from GEICO and American Family. they said I sould have $500,000 coverage. and they charged me $50 a day for car insurance. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere!
