DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY – IT IS A SCAM. I HAD TO FIGHT TO GET BACK MY $250 USD SECURITY DEPOSIT. At pickup, the agent told me that I had to purchase insurance through the rental company for $155 USD (on top of the rental fee that I had already paid), as my personal insurance carrier was not recognized by Routes. I was also charged a $250 security deposit at this time, and was told by the agent that the deposit would be refunded to my credit card within 30 business days. I signed a contract that confirmed that my security hold would be release within 30 days of the end of the rental. Inside the location was chaos – overcrowded, and a long, slow lineup, with one agent handling the rentals while several other agents sat behind the desk not assisting customers. The entire pick-up process took approximately one hour, After the rental ended, they did NOT release my security deposit within 30 business days, as the contract required them to. I called them 4 times, emailed them 7 times - each time, I was either given the run around or ignored. They finally processed my refund when I told them I would be reporting them to the police for fraud. Based on other online reviews of this company, and their terrible business practices and customer service, I do not have any reason to believe that they acted in good faith at any point during this process. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING TO BOOK WITH THEM SHOULD BOOK ELSEWHERE.

Great front desk staff and best car for rental

BEWARE! HIDDEN FEES! Checking in to get the car we booked and was shocked when I was told I needed to pay 3x what the original quote was. Watched as 2 other people next to me at check in counters had the same experience as well as 2 other groups on shuttle back to ORD airport. WILL NOT USE AGAIN.

When we went to pick up the car they wanted my insurance decloration page. I have tried online and by phone for my refund and am getting no where. I have to report this as an unauthorized charge to my credit card company

SCAM!!!! Receipt shows $131, VISA shows two charges of $380 and $410. Waiting THREE AND A HALF HOURS past our pickup time with 4 tired and starving kids! Lady at the front desk was the most smug and rudest “customer service” employee I have ever experienced. Fully cancelled our cars after hearing about cockroaches, random $1000 charges, tons of mechanical problems (3 came back on tow trucks just while we were there!) I got two papers that show “cancelled” for $110. Where is my $900 that’s still pending on my VISA?! Absolute WORST BUSINESS I have ever encountered in my life!!! I have emailed from theaspdens @ gmail please reply AND REFUND ASAP

Great price, easy pickup and drop off.Shuttle service from and to Chicago airport.

shuttle took forever wnd you have to book it online only 1 emoloyee so the line took forever

1) Hidden fees (112 usd) that are not announced, so expect this surprise. 2) I booked a Jeep, they gave me a Nissan 3) It has been 1 week and I still have 2,000usd security deposit. 4) After calling 5 different numbers they told me that it takes 5-7 business days to clear the security deposit, and after that, it could take another 5-7 business days from my bank. Scam. 5) Expect 30-40 min. for the bus to arrive to airport or to the rental car and consider 45 more minutes to give you the car. Honestly I don't know how this company still in business with this scams, bad service and lies.

The majority of Routes cancellation policy is devoted to an option (non-prepaid reservation) that is not even available on the website, with one sentence, at the very end of the cancellation conditions that is for the prepaid option. If Routes really wanted to effectively communicate they would a) get rid of any extra information about 48 hour cancellations that aren't available or relevant and b) flag the reservation when it's made that it cannot be cancelled, like other sites do.

I like this place because it gave us a nice jeep wrangler for the week we were staying here in Orlando. Along with jeeps they have many other nice car and truck rentals.
