A VERY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE OVERALL - SHORT LEAD TIME AND PROMPT SEVICE. THE ENGINEER TRACY CALLED ME EN ROUTE AND ARRIVED ON TIME. SHE COMPLETED THE METER SWOP CAREFULLY AND NEATLY, TESTING ALL MY SERVICES BEFORE LEAVING ME WITH TWO SMART METERS AND A SMART IN-HOME DISPLAY WITH INSTRUCTIONS. THANK YOU!

Had our smart meters fitted by Martin. He was excellent. He was a pleasure to have in the house and worked above and beyond. He cleaned up afterwards and was extremely helpful and informative.

My first two appointments were cancelled, and they donβt seem to be bothered about the consequences of cancelling them as some people, like myself have had to take the day off work. The first one was cancelled, then when I called to rebook, the number I was given rang out for ages the first three times and was picked up on the fourth attempt, but I wasnβt sure if it was Magnum as they didnβt bother with introductions. The agent who answered didnβt really have a clue what was going on but said he would call back and didnβt. I called back later that day and rebooked and had to go through the full induction again which was annoying as was a further two-month delay! Second appointment, about 3 Β½ hours into the time frame given, someone called again from Magnum to cancel my appointment because of a tricky job they were delayed. The call centre doesnβt seem to know what is going on as whilst I was on the phone being cancelled to one agent, another was calling and left a voice mail to call them back to rebook! Again, another two months delay. However, when they do what they say they are going to do, it all goes well. Engineer arrived, had mask etc on. Explained what he was going to do and got started. He was very thorough and also noticed two hazards with the main fuse and cables, that had not been picked up on in the past by two other companies. This was reported by him and Scottish Power Networks, who came out and fixed it by moving the main fuse to another wall and tidied up the cables. Engineer was very good, and someone within Magnum has also acknowledged my complaint. However, Magnums customer service call centre for bookings is letting the company down badly with their unprofessional service, cancellations, and unanswered calls. I had originally given them one star but have changed to three. If they sort the staff out at the call centre and turn up when they say they will instead of constant cancellations, they would be a decent company. Cancellations can happen from time to time, but I think Magnum need to get the finger out and sort this because it seems to be the normal for them to cancel instead of turning up to do the job.

Magnum initially arranged to install smart meters on 11 November 2020, but when the engineer arrived he didn't have the parts for the gas meter. Another engineer came on 10 February 2021 - once again didn't have the right parts for the gas meter but said he could "make something up". Both meters were fitted and I was left with the house monitor - which to-date only displays the time. On 21 February I had my gas boiler serviced, part of which involves a gas test. During the test my plumber discovered there was a small gas leak on the fittings Magnum had "put together". Fortunately, my plumber was able to fix the issue. I had raised a complaint with People's Energy, last December, regarding Magnum's shoddy service, which remains open. When I updated them today about the gas leak I got the impression I was not the only dissatisfied customer. Steer clear! Emailed resolution@magnumutilities on 22nd February - I received a response advising they would get back in 10 working days - guess what? -- Nothing.

Our engineer arrived on time,he had his face mask on and when he came into the house he put his over shoes on. Which was very thoughtful. Polite and knowledgable and a very tidy worker. Explaining the technology behind the system 10 out of 10. Thank you Magnum

Arthur from Magnum Utilities turned up yesterday as scheduled to fit my smart meters. This was arranged by Pure Planet so I didn't know what to expect other than it would be someone from Magnum Utilities to come round. When Arthur pulled up in the branded van, branded uniform and a mask, I felt more confident this would be a professional job. He kept his distance and was wary of coming inside as he didn't want to muddy the floor. He showed me both meters outside, explained how they work and advised on the home display and its positioning. The dual display only showed electricity for over 1hr after Arthur had left, and gas usage was not shown at all so I started getting worried. I gave Arthur a call, which he kindly answered after hours and advised to switch it on and off. Feeling silly writing this but it worked and everything is good. Arthur did say on the call that if it wouldn't, I should call him later and he'll help so that was very nice and clearly going the extra mile to leave the job completed.

Magnum Utilities have twice failed to turn up to fit smart meters at my property. I've received text, phone call and postcard telling me they're coming and then I got a phone call during the appointment slot telling that they can't make it. Re-booked an appointment for the third and final time. If they don't show up and fit the meters I shall complain to OFGEM.

Magnum are the worst - Unreliable - unhelpful - have no customer service assistance available. This company's rating is not worth registering I will never recommend this company to anyone. There communication skills are ZERO

Been let down four times by magnum to fit a smart meter, first two times the engineers turned up with out the smart meter!!!! Should of learnt my lesson and just switched provider then but stuck with it. A year later!!! Got it re booked and they cancelled on the day 10 minutes before the 8 till 12 time slot ended to say they didn't have the meter in stock, re arranged for the next day and they cancelled it again but didn't even bother to tell me this time. Call customer services and they literally couldn't care less about the situation. The first appointment was in February 2019 so that's how long it's taken them and they still haven't fitted the meter. Avoid this company and Ecotricity the energy supply that uses magnum.

A TOTAL DISGRACE!!!! We were bombarded by e-mails informing us of our up coming appointment. We received automated phone calls informing us of our up coming appointment. In anticipation of their arrival, I cleared the area around our electricity meter. This caused a lot of work and disruption. We waited in all day for their technician to arrive. At the end of the day I phoned them to try to find out what was happening. Eventually we received a call saying that their "Engineer" had been called to an emergency job. We are due to have an EV charger installed next week and we needed the meter changed to enable this to happen. Magnum Utilities now tell us that they can only fit us in in three weeks time. Will they actually turn up then? Who knows? Bombarding customers with unwanted and useless e-mails and sending automated phone calls at inconvenient times does not amount to adequate customer service. Turning up at an agreed appointment and doing the agreed job is what is required for adequate customer service and Magnum Utilities have dismally failed in this. If I could give them zero stars, I would! A TOTAL DISGRACE!

The company made two appointments to fit a SMART meter. Failed to attend both, meaning I wasted 8 hours waiting for them to arrive. They contacted me last minute to explain in the first appointment the engineer had been called to an emergency, second time (after saying they would try to make me a priority) he had run out of time. Offered to send the on call engineer but wouldnβt arrive until 8pm, when I would have to sit in darkness with the electricity turned off whilst he worked- I refused and have complained by email to Peoples energy who had contacted me in the first place to have the meter fitted- no response from them either.

Connected to Peoples Energy. Paid for a job to be carried out two weeks ago and as yet this Magnum Utilities have not even contacted me. I have raised a formal complaint to Peoples Energy about this and still Magnum Utilities have not contacted me. Tried contacting Magnum Utilities on all numbers listed on their website and no-one at the end of the phone....do they even exsist? Shocking all round, if you want a job done within a realistic timeframe then these guys are not the company to get involved. Reply 16/02/2021: Iβm Not being funny but I complained on 11/12/2020 which is pretty much 10 weeks ago. Itβs taken you this long to notice and reply to me. Gave up a long time ago, pretty shocking. Reply 17/02/2021 No, I also submitted a formal complaint through Magnum Utilities directly. More than happy to forward them in as it dragged on for weeks. It was extremely stressful and a very negative experience.
