We got there early, around 10:15 for an 11 pick up and were told we had to wait til 11. No problem with that. At 11 I go back up and they say it'll be a bit longer and to sit tight. At 12:15 I went back up and was told they were cleaning the windows and it'd be another 15 minutes. At 1:30 I went back up again , as no one was giving me any updates, and finally around 2 we were told to come back around 345 to pick it up. When we finally got it, we were missing the camping chairs, table, GPS, and there was a bowl of rice still in the fridge, so it clearly wasn't cleaned properly. We lost a whole day of travel and had to speed thru Arthur's Pass without doing any of the hikes we had planned. It's that combined with the fact that we weren't told any updates and had to hunt down the workers to ask what was going on.
Never again I made a reservation for a chaser but unfortunately had no luck with the first van it has a water leak so I brought it back and the team gave me another one the first day. Sadly the second van also was dysfunctional the sink was clogged. I burrowed a plunger to try to solve the problem by myself and unfortunately it didn't work so I brought it back a second time IJust so you know I'm a woman of 35 traveling on my own and this was very very stressful for me. So finnaly I took the van 24h and brought it back I sent an email asking for a refund. No answer and cab u imagine I received a message few days later telling that the fuel was not full when i brought back the van I think I used 1/5 and they charged me 80$ ! I mean seriously! This is completely rude and meanful to do this u just ruined my vacation in NZ.
3 week hire in NZ with the Jucy Chaser. Vehicle was in very poor condition - mould marks in front cabin, USB-A input not working on stereo, loose shower head and no TV mounted as advertised in photos. It was evident we had a much older vehicle and was showing a lot of age. As we understood Jucy is budget we were willing to look over these however the water pump stopped working about a week into our trip. It took two technician visits over 5 days to get it resolved. We had to stay close to an area that was not on our itinerary to remain in reception whilst getting it resolved which meant we had to restructure our itinerary and miss out on key spots/experiences that we had planned out months in advance. Call center supervisor assured us we would be compensated for the inconvenience which gave us peace of mind for the time being. When handing in the vehicle in Queenstown, the staff initially didn’t want to compensate us (???) and then eventually agreed to a $76 refund… We couldn’t quite believe it. They explained that that it’s calculated based on a percentage of the daily rate of the vehicle however this is very poor as it doesn’t factor in on the money and time lost by the customer. If you can, we would highly recommend spending the extra money and using a more reliable company as it is not worth the gamble of having the above experience and having your trip impacted by something that could be so avoidable.
Staff very nice. Just the wait to pickup. And at the same time there were a few other people waiting in the queue just to drop off. I'm sure there's a more streamlined way to manage this. And possibly an inventory for campervans. Pillows missing!
Wat een slechte firma. Vol verlangen gingen we de camper ophalen in Brisbane. Bij bekijken van de camper bleek al snel van alles mis. Stoelen die vies waren, scheuren in stoelen met ductape geprobeerd te repareren ? Schuifdeur die haast niet open te krijgen is, maar ja hij is ook maar 18 jaar oud. Toch maar geaccepteerd en de riemen er onder. Vervolgens s’avonds bed in elkaar gezet maar voetstuk blijft naar beneden vallen. De ophanghaken van de inhaaktafel hangen los, maargoed de tafel kon er toch al niet in want ook die hing met ductape aan elkaar. Blackscreen is niet goed vast te zetten omdat drukker kapot is. Door schuifdeur hard dicht te moeten gooien valt elke keer slot van zijraam waardoor inbrekers het wel erg makkelijk krijgen. De stoelen en tafel van het buitensetje vallen letterlijk uit elkaar. Maar het goede nieuws van Jucy na een week later contact op te nemen. We kunnen een afspraak maken om te bekijken hoe ze de reparaties op kunnen lossen. Nou nee dank je Jucy, dit valt niet te repareren. Jullie moeten eerst eens leren mensen weg te sturen met een funktionerende camper, en niet aanbieden iets te repareren wat al stuk is als je weg rijd. Kom maar op met je loze verhaaltjes dat we jullie geen kans hebben gegeven. MENSEN trap er niet in en boek niet bij Campstar maar zeker niet bij Jucy.

rented one for my brother when he came up to visit and wanted to go travelling around the island. it wasn't in the best condition but the price was good and it worked for the trip
We booked a van to pickup in Brisbane and were treated so strangely by the staff! The girl behind the desk was so rude, she then started speaking to her colleague making racist remarks about other customers and how they never understand road rules or how to put petrol in a van. Her colleague said ‘maybe we should speak about this later’ as it was so inappropriate. I chose 10am pickup as we needed to be somewhere and the van wasn’t ready. She didn’t apologise, just kept repeating it was dirty and we would have to wait but couldn’t tell us how long. When it was finally ready, she handed over the keys and said nothing. We then asked where the van was and she said ‘the number plate is written on the key ring’ and to find it outside ourselves. She didn’t show us where anything wad and didn’t say bye - she ignored us as we walked out the door. We decided it was probably one rude teenager working there, and just recently decided to enquire about booking again. I emailed and asked for a quote from the 2nd-21st of December 2023 and the sales team replied with the price. I then asked to change the dates to the 2nd-19th of December, so the trip was slightly shorter. I received the exact same price, so I asked them why is wasn’t less? Poly from sales advised ‘there’s only 1 quote in her system’. So I explained that I’d like 2 quotes with 2 different prices with the dates above. This went back and forth for hours, I explained over an over again, I repeated the dates, Poly never sent 2 quotes and continued to send the same one several times saying ‘I’ve sent the quote again’. I gave up and have booked elsewhere as I really can’t be bothered with games. Overall, it’s a strange company with rude and odd employees. We thought the staff member in the Brisbane depot may have been a one off, but the sales team treat you with sarcasm and refuse to send quotes when you request them. It’s just plain weird!! I took my quote from jucy and did a price match with another company. They also gave us a better van!! Highly recommend doing this and avoiding the headache with these people.
Super Speedy Pickup from Sydney International Airport, great driver and helpful too,,staff at jucy were a pleasure to deal with,did not take long to get into our Jucy Car and off on our travels :0)

Jucy FTW! Once again, Jucy provided a great home-on-wheels at a great price when we explored the Daintree rainforest and Atherton tablelands area. They even offer a shuttle to/from the airport. Everything is thought about ahead of time, and the rental includes everything you will need to have a safe, relaxed holiday. Insurance gives us no worries on our travels. Thank you again, Jucy, for another epic trip of memories!

I recently had the unfortunate experience of renting a Condo Campervan from JUCY at Christchurch Airport, and I must say that my experience was extremely disappointing. First, when I arrived at Christchurch Airport, I called them to pick me up as advertised, but their phone was not working. Consequently, I had no choice but to walk to their location. The campervan I received fell far short of the promised standards. It appeared that no effort had been made to properly maintain the campervan before my rental. On the second day of my rental, despite barely using the campervan on the first day, I found myself at a remote campsite and noticed that my clean water tank had run out of water. This clearly resulted from the fact that the tank had been handed over to me almost empty. Hours later, a foul odor began to emanate from the back of the van. Upon inspection, I discovered that the gray water tank was completely full (the source of the smell), and worse yet, it had serious issues with its pipes. The gray water tank was leaking onto the floor inside the van and onto the ground beneath the van.This situation forced me to vacate the campground, as I couldn't empty the gray water tank (which was evidently not emptied prior to handing over the campervan to me) on-site. This situation was not only inconvenient but also could make the campground unsanitary Furthermore, each time I used the sink during the trip, water leaked inside the campervan. This lack of care and attention to detail stands in stark contrast to the polished images and promises of a "top-notch" camping experience advertised on their website. To compound matters, the campervan also had a serious wheel alignment problem. Upon reaching Christchurch, I reported these issues to a representative, who was helpful at the time and assured me a 25% refund of the total rental amount. However, nearly three months later, I have yet to receive my refund. For the past week, I've been attempting to contact their customer service (feedback@) and have not received a single response. Without a doubt, I would not recommend anyone to rent a campervan from JUCY. There are other companies with similar pricing that would likely, at the very least, respond to an email.
Myself and my family have been left utterly disappointed in the service we received during a long overdue family reunion (6 years in the making) in Queensland recently. We had the holiday booked for months in advance and had booked x2 THE CONDO - Hitop 4 Berth with portable toilet and solar panels (2016 interior) - 5 seatbelts at a cost of over $6000! It initially started when we were due to collect the vans from the depot at Brisbane Airport on 26th June where we were informed on arrival that both vans we booked were unavailable and instead we would be receiving an upgrade to both vans and fuel reimbursed upon return if we kept the final receipt for fuel. Whilst we acknowledge the 6 berth was indeed an upgrade, as inexperienced campers in Australia, we did not realise the inconvenience this was to cause us on our already planned and booked trip. The 6 berth meant that all powered sites we had prebooked and paid for were unsuitable as the van would not fit. This meant in some cases we had to split up as a group and rebook alternative non powered sites whilst still forgoing monies already paid for the powered sites in peak season. This left us out of pocket by $250 in cancellation fees and a further $150 on alternative sites. One night we had booked for the trip was unable to accommodate an alternative site so the entire group (3 vehicles and 11 people in total) were forced to travel further north earlier than expected in order to have somewhere to sleep for the night. The other 4 berth van (Toyota hiace) that our parents had been upgraded too was far from an upgrade and proved totally inadequate and unusable for them. A couple in their 20's would struggle to sleep comfortably in the van let alone a couple into their 60's with only approx 10 inches between head and ceiling height whilst sleeping. You needed to do a somersault to get out of it! Again, as inexperienced campers, we did not realise on collecting the alternative vehicle how this would effect the trip and this should of been foreseen by the team members when offering the 'upgrade' to people in their 60's. They physically and safely could not get into the van for sleeping so my brother gave them their camper trailer instead and in the end, could not sleep in it either so our parents moved into the 6 berth causing further inconvenience to the group. This left the van totally unused for its intended purpose. For the inconvenience of having to wait on the morning of collection, not knowing what was to lay ahead for us, we were promised reimbursement of fuel receipts for the final tank top up as an apology. Only the van that our parents had hired was marked down for this refund and the staff member on shift appeared not to care of our complaints. We sent our grievances to the Sales Director who we had booked the campers through originally and he responded with a poor offering of a significant future discount should we choose Jucy again. What good was that to us, we were let down and out of pocket now. I decided to take the matter up directly with Jucy and haven't had a reply or acknowledgement at all! We would not be recommending this company and service to anyone based on the experience and subsequent lack of service thereafter and feel our trip was a complete disappointment as a result. What should of been an unforgettable trip of a lifetime with the entire family has been ruined and Jucy couldn't care less once they got their money. 26.10.23 UPDATE Emailed Jucy as per their reply on my review above despite having reached out before with no reply, i decided to give the benefit of the doubt and surprise surprise, still no communication from them!!! Terrible customer service, actually non existent!!!!
Bad company! We stayed in Queenstown with the car parked for two days because we were out of battery and they didn't do anything, just on a very cold rainy night they sent a guy who didn't have a battery and he said he couldn't do anything, that it was for us to continue giving jumpstart in the car (detail: the car doesn't have a jumpstar, we had to look for a mechanic to provide us with one), and when I turned off the car it wouldn't start anymore 🤷♀️ On the second day we called in the morning to find a solution and they were supposed to get back to me, they got back to me at 3pm and their employee arrived only at 5:15pm, which means we lost another whole day of travel. We lost a whole day of snowboarding and we lost the ticket because we had to wait ALL DAY for any s*** help, and you just refound us with 10%? Since the daily rate is much more than that,? Total disregard for the customer, I do not recommend this company and will not recommend it to anyone I know.
I am editing my review as I was able to get timely response. The issue was solved to my satisfaction. The car I got was outdated. Had 70k. Yea this ain't your top tier rental car company. It didn't even have a back up camera nor cruise control. You get what you pay for. They do charge a hefty 4 fee for EVERY TOLL. That is a ripoff
they were so sweet and understanding and helped us with any questions we had. since we were 19 and not many other places let younger drivers hire, this company did and took the best care of us. incredible customer service! would hire again :)
This is literally the WORST company ever!!!! I would rather walk than give this company my money ever again. I rang to ask if i could pick up at city location rather than Cairns International airport and their staff told me I had to go to airport. Went to airport where all the other rental companies are and they told me that we had to call for a shuttle as they were off site. Called and left 3 messages for shuttle that never came. Called the office 6 times before they told me to get an uber to their CITY LOCATION!!! Staff were dismissive and car has over 110,000 on it. They just gave us the keys and told us to find it outside. A few hours later we tried to wind the back window up and it was stuck. Rang them and they said they would call back,so we waited, not wanting to leave the car with window down in the middle of a tourist area... but they didn't. So we took it back the next morning to get another car...this time a 2016 model with 240,000km on it. It was not clean but at least the windows worked. Don't do it. It's just not worth the little savings you may make!
Went to HERZ was $1200 to rent a car for 6 days then went to JUCY and was $300 for 6 days, we showed up with no booking got a car within 30 minutes loved the customer service, absouslty going here from now on!! 10/10!!!!
