Easy to book online with seamless pickup and drop off. Very well organised friendly staff. We were kept up to date with what was required the closer we got to the pickup date.

Car rental reviews seem to either polarize at the delighted end or the critical end of the scale. With Jucy, if you consider that the budget you're working with is far better than pretty much any other rental company at this point in time it is smiles all round even with the extra insurance added on. They have basic cars and some people might need to be retrained on how to actually drive when presented with something that doesn't have parking sensors, reversing cameras, automatic headlights, keyless entry/start, digital speedo, heated seats etc but it did come with a cruise control which is awesome for managing speed in a country that is pretty tight on their road reg enforcement (apparently). Initially it took a bit of getting used to but I grew to love the plucky little swift that got us around a great big southern loop of the south island without missing a beat. It was supremely comfortable for my 6'2" frame as a driver and my wife loved it too. The staff were awesome, promptly responding to my many emails prior to the trip including altering booking, checking they'd still be open even when I might possibly be late if my flight was late. Picking me up from the airport was easy, dropping the car off was easy. The only thoughts I have that could make this any better would be (1) a basic walkthru of car features - I discovered that the back hatch area could be made bigger/deeper on the last day I had it. (2) I think for some people's peace of mind, having an exit receipt that shows date/time of vehicle return can protect people against the stories some people have had about getting speeding fines or tolls that are not within the period they actually had the car - though if you drive directly from the final fuel fill to the depot, this kinda protects you if you pay by credit card and have a timestamp or receipt from when you paid (3) and this is probably more a police issue, is it would be great to be able to register your details against the car so that you can check and pay for any infringements directly while you have the car rather than face the possibility of wearing an extra $60 admin fee for each one you get (if you get any). Minor thoughts - no big deal. The final note about NZ driving in the south island...it's mostly single lane, the roads are mostly good, people drive better than in Australia (except the Aussie tourists I guess) so there's no need to overtake or take risks - sit back and enjoy the scenery, there's a lot of it!

Our car broke down shortly after we received it at Gold Coast airport. It was a highly used car with +200k km which should not have been rented in the first place. It took us multiple phone calls to speak to someone who could help us with organising a replacement car. The call-backs that were promised by the agents never happened so we had to spend an entire day chasing customer service to finally come and bring our replacement car a day later. We asked for a full refund of our trip which was denied by Jucy and we only got a refund for the day we couldn't use the car although it significantly impacted our holidays and kept us busy for a full day on the phone trying to organise for the replacement car. Do not recommend.

The car was very old and i wondered if i would get to my destination. You couldn't see out the back window because the tint had been removed. It drove like a bush bomb. The staff were nice.

Would highly recommend hiring from Jucy Rentals! They had the most reasonable prices without compromising on the quality and safety of the car. We had a super reliable and neat car that did quite a few kilometres on our road trip. The team were very helpful and accomodating and the pick up/drop off process was super easy and convenient, even offering after hours drop offs.

No service counter at the airport Sunday open til 12 noon and last shuttle bus to airport at 1330hrs - if return car after these hours , need to organise your transport to get into airport
