Avoid at all cost
3 week hire in NZ with the Jucy Chaser. Vehicle was in very poor condition - mould marks in front cabin, USB-A input not working on stereo, loose shower head and no TV mounted as advertised in photos. It was evident we had a much older vehicle and was showing a lot of age. As we understood Jucy is budget we were willing to look over these however the water pump stopped working about a week into our trip. It took two technician visits over 5 days to get it resolved. We had to stay close to an area that was not on our itinerary to remain in reception whilst getting it resolved which meant we had to restructure our itinerary and miss out on key spots/experiences that we had planned out months in advance. Call center supervisor assured us we would be compensated for the inconvenience which gave us peace of mind for the time being. When handing in the vehicle in Queenstown, the staff initially didn’t want to compensate us (???) and then eventually agreed to a $76 refund… We couldn’t quite believe it. They explained that that it’s calculated based on a percentage of the daily rate of the vehicle however this is very poor as it doesn’t factor in on the money and time lost by the customer. If you can, we would highly recommend spending the extra money and using a more reliable company as it is not worth the gamble of having the above experience and having your trip impacted by something that could be so avoidable.
