Great staff, helpful and friendly. A very easy going hire experience
Reasonable vans, at the lower price point compared to other camper rentals in NZ, you get what you pay for. With online check-in, it sped up the collection process. AA road watch support was welcome - we met another Jucy camper which required a call out for a check engine light. Slight change 2hr delay collecting a vehicle in Christchurch which they explained was due to same-day turn arounds. Surprised that the big Crib camper van was a petrol engine - we found ourselves refilling the fuel tank after every 5hrs approx. of drive time. Our Crib camper was problematic - terrible transmission when driving up-hill - our vehicle would slow to 30km/hr and consumed more petrol as a result. It also had a leaking grey water connection - valve did not hold and no plug so we used sink/shower less than planned as a result. Reasonable service considering we booked at short notice (3 months) but would advise others to shop around for alternatives.
Very friendly and helpful staff, they worked easily around our chaotic schedule and ensured everything was in good shape before we drove off.
Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Campervan is basic and simple. Easy to use and drive. Small so it's easy to get places/park. Jucy did a good job with a small space. Only complaint is could use a bit more storage/hooks on the walls and the grey water tank could use better cleaning (has a smell coming out of shower drain before we used it)

DO NOT CHOOSE JUCY!! Honestly disappointed ; not only did I pay extra $45 per day and didn’t get certain things packed my fridge DID NOT work the entire time so all my food went off within 2 days and mould spores I noticed were in the fridge my butter melted which shouldn’t happen if it was working took it back now I’m out of country JUCY tried claiming nothing is wrong even had multiple people that I met along the way that could vouch for it they said they would compensate but nothing has happened! Will be telling everyone not to support these people they don’t help you what so ever
5 Wochen Neuseeland mit Campervan – nie wieder mit einem von Jucy. Die Autos sind alt, abgefahren und Sicherheitsaspekte werden nicht beachtet, beispielsweise waren die Reifen stark abgefahren und die Camper haben viel zu viele Kilometer auf dem Buckel. Die wirklich schlechten Erfahrungen haben wir dann nach unserem unverschuldeten Unfall erlebt: während der Unfallsituation, bei dem unser Camper stark beschädigt wurde, hingen wir über 45 Minuten in der Warteschleife. Dann mussten wir darauf bestehen, mit dem kaputten Auto nicht weiterzufahren, was uns erst nahegelegt wurde. Nach gefühlt 20 Telefonaten und Wartestunden ohne Wissen wie es weitergeht, wurden wir nach Queenstown abgeschleppt, um dort wie abgesprochen einen neuen Camper in Empfang zu nehmen. Die dortige Mitarbeiterin war die Inkompetenz und Frechheit in Person. Sie hat uns einen uralten Camper, mit zerrissenen, muffeligen Polstern, schimmeligem Kühlschrank, ekelerregender Küchenausstattung und nicht funktionierender Zentralverriegelung als Ersatz gegeben und uns zuvor strahlend ins Gesicht gelogen, der Camper sei einwandfrei und sie hätte in so gerade nochmal abgecheckt. Im Protokoll des Fahrzeugs, welches sie uns aushändigte, waren keinerlei Makel hinterlegt. Als wir den Van dann vor uns hatten, fielen uns zahlreiche Kratzer, Steinschläge in der Frontscheibe, fehlende Abdeckkappen beim Abwasser usw. auf. Dafür hätte man am Ende dann wahrscheinlich uns verantwortlich machen wollen. Nach zahlreichen Diskussionen mit dieser jungen Frau und keinerlei Kundenorientierung stand ab diesem Zeitpunkt fest: keine einzige Nacht mehr schlafen wir in diesem Mobil. Am darauffolgenden Tag sollte uns die nächste Hiobsbotschaft erreichen: wir sollten eine Strafgebühr zahlen, weil wir im alten abgeschleppten Camper die Toilette nicht ausgeleert hatten – wie auch fragen wir uns, wenn das Auto nicht mehr fährt und wir abgeschleppt wurden?! Und wieder konnten wir uns mit diesen unglaublich schlechten und dreisten Servicemitarbeitern in Queenstown auseinandersetzen. Für das zweite Auto wurde uns eine weitere Kaution eingezogen, obwohl wir den Unfall nicht verursacht haben. Nach dem Urlaub hatten wir noch wochenlang E-Mail- Kontakt mit dem Unternehmen, um wieder an unser Geld zu kommen. Auch in diesem Prozedere sagte Mitarbeiter A das und Mitarbeiter B etwas ganz anderes. Keiner weiß, was der andere macht und man muss auf sein Recht bestehen und auch das Kleingedruckte in den AGBs lesen, sonst siehst du dein Geld nie wieder. Also alles in allem: ein unfassbar schlechter Service und die Mitarbeiter sind überhaupt nicht am Wohl des Kunden interessiert, im Gegenteil. Diesen ganzen Ärger kann man sich bei anderen Unternehmen sicherlich ersparen, dafür zahle ich in Zukunft auch gerne mehr. Auf unserer Reise haben wir zwei weitere Jucy Reisende getroffen, die auch nur von Problemen erzählten: Gasherd funktioniert nicht, Elektrizität kaputt und kein Zugriff auf Wasser. Auch hier: ewige Wartezeiten, um mit einem Mitarbeiter sprechen zu können und dann fragwürdige Lösungsansätze, wie statt Leitungswasser solle man sich Wasserfalschen aus dem Supermarkt zur Wasserversorgung kaufen. Ich kann jedem nur abraten, hier ein Fahrzeug zu mieten! Unser Urlaub war ab dem Zeitpunkt des Unfalls gelaufen und das zum Großteil dank dieses Unternehmens.

Wir haben zweimal ein Auto gemietet und zwei Mal gab es Probleme. Das erste Auto war insgesamt in einem schlechten Zustand. Die Schiebetüren ließen sich teilweise nicht mehr öffnen. Die Gangschaltung war in schlechtem Zustand und die Bettwäsche roch, als ob sie nicht vorher nicht gewaschen worden wäre. Nach 1 1/2 Wochen hatten wir einen platten Reifen. Die Hilfe über die angegebene Notfallnummer hat gut funktioniert. Aber zwei Mechaniker haben uns gesagt, dass dieses Auto in einem äußerst schlechten Zustand ist und das Auto eigentlich nicht mehr verkehrtauglich ist. Wir haben es zum Glück unversehrt zu unserem Zielort geschafft. Wir haben die Rundum-Versicherung abgeschlossen, inkl. Reifen. Wir haben die Rechnung für den Reifenwechsel und den Sachverhalt an Jucy gegeben. Vor Ort in Sydney wurde uns gesagt, wir bekommen unser Geld innerhalb von 48 Stunden wieder. Auch nach zweimaliger Nachfrage habe ich bis heute, mehr als 4 Wochen später, mein Geld immer noch nicht wieder. Als wir das zweite Auto abholen wollten, mussten wir mehr als 2 Stunden warten, da, als wir losfahren wollten, ein Defekt festgestellt wurde, der dann erst repariert wurde. Das Auto sollte vor Übergabe sorgfältig gecheckt werden und nicht erst, wenn man das Auto holt. Insgesamt haben wir auf unserer Reise durch den schlechten Zustand der Autos einen ganzen Tag verloren. If I could give a zero I would. My son rented and got into a minor accident which was 100 percent not his fault. They secured a $3000 NZD charge from the credit card and said we would get the money back once the insurance company settled. It has been two months and every time we email they give a BS answer. They are not following up. Really lousy place to rent from. Definitely look elsewhere before renting from them. I would not rent from them again Rent from a trusted reputable rental company that has clear ties in the United States. It is worth paying the extra money with a company you can trust. This place is a scam.

Jucy is a great company with lots of vehicles but the vehicle they provided to us was old and tired.
The worst customer service I never had. Landed at Christchurh airport, called the office asking for shuttle to pick up our rental car, guess what? No one answer the called at all, kept calling for 15 mins and still no one answered. Ended up we had to ask other car rental shuttle to drop us off. When we complained to the front desk, the staff not even apologized, just told me you only called for 15 mins which not that long. The staff didn’t get the point, if we didn’t get the shuttle from other car rental company, how long we should get a shuttle. And we found out we are not the only one complained the problem, there were other people had the same issues too. If people looking for car rental ,JUCY definitely is the worst, don’t rental their car.

In short, just don’t book with this company, it will ruin your holiday. Vans are old, none of the equipment works and the customer service is shocking. We hired a Jucy crib for 3.5 weeks. We had to book last minute so knew we wouldn’t get our first choice company but did not realise Jucy would be so terrible! We collected our van from Christchurch. We were shown around everything very quickly and the staff seemed disinterested and weren’t that helpful. You have to pay extra for chairs and tables, the table we were given had a big crack down the middle so completely unusable. Luckily we checked and they gave us another which was marginally better. We got on our way and got to our first campsite where we realised the water tank was leaking, the fridge didn’t get cold and the gas cooker didn’t light. So we couldn’t cook any dinner on our first night. When we rang Jucy we were told the out of hours team weren’t able to do anything and to wait for someone to call back. We waited and waited, no one called. We spent the majority of our second day on the phone being passed between different people saying it wasn’t their problem. We eventually came up with the idea of taking the van to Queenstown when we were passing through and swapping it for another. In the meantime we had to buy water and a new gas burner and had no working fridge. When we arrived in Queenstown the van was not ready for us (despite having had 48hours warning) so we had to wait for another morning whilst they got a van ready. When the brought it round the fridge in the new van also didn’t work and there was not enough cooking utensils to make a meal for 2 people (who is checking these vans before they give them to people??). Once we had had to hang around even longer whilst they sorted this we could then get on our way. We later realised one of the doors wouldn’t open so had to go back again to get them to fix it. We missed all our activities we had booked that day and wasted the money we spent on them. The following day we drove from Queenstown to Wanaka. As we started going down the hill, the whole van started shaking whenever we applied the breaks. We pulled over and called Jucy. Again, we were given minimal reassurance and wasted another day waiting for the roadside recovery to come and check the van. The brakes were dangerous but we were told it was just an old van and no to worry. I would question the safety levels of these vehicles! Once we arrived in Auckland at the end of our trip we had been assured that we would get a refund for the days wasted at the beginning. On arrival the Auckland team said there were no notes on our file and therefore we couldn’t get a refund. So again we wasted another afternoon trying to sort this and only ended up receiving a couple of hundred dollar compensation for over 6 days wasted holiday. What a terrible company, I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.
Terrible customer service experience. Have used jucy many time and with my recent experience they were not helpful at all, made a mistake with my booking and never received any reminder. Now jucy is claiming it all to be my fault. They are just after taking peoples money. Absolutely so disappointing when they could not offer me anything or no other alternative option. Would not recommend now to anyone !
The van provided to us was really old, with over 400,000 kilometers on it. If Jucy is going to rent out old vehicles, they should consider replacing all the interior components. Mechanically, the vehicle was 'okay,' but the interior, specifically the bedding and mattress did not feel clean. The sliding side door never closed properly and will never lock the first time.
