Ordered chip bark. Never arrived. Can't get hold of anyone. Over £100 down. Ordered on the 30th April. Now ordered same bark from another company and got it... so just want a refund. PMWFWZQB 18394813

Informative well presented SPA course by Andy in Gateshead. Took a lot from the course, easy to follow and intersct with instructions.

I placed an order for 3 days hire of a Wacker plate... payed but when invoice came through showed only two days which wasn't enough time .. contacted local store to correct it... wasn't allowed, had to phone the online staff... easier said than done..was on hold for nearly an hour and still no contact... eventually after many phone calls the order was updated to rental for a week and the staff at collection point were fine (derby)... but contacting people certainly needs updating as this was awful...I don't have time spending hours on a phone trying to correct there mistake
I made my booking on line it was so simple and ordered everything I needed.on collection I was served quickly and politely and was informed that some parts I brought could be returned unused for full credit. Floor sander performed better than I was expecting and got the jod done in one afternoon.
We hired a cement mixer. It arrived on a Saturday morning, we had booked builders to work that day. The cement mixer didn't work at all. No answer at customer service number. Had to pay builders even though they couldn't work. Phoned HSS several days running, but gave up after being on hold for over 30 minutes each time. Sent two emails several days apart to request a refund. No reply to emails. Finally got through via phone after 40 minute wait. Promised a full refund within three days. It is now 5 days later and no refund has arrived. I am on hold again trying to get through and so far have waited 40 minutes and still not connected. Appauling customer service and equipment that doesn't work. I would never use this company again.

Staff customer services were excellent, kept me up dated on everything and arranged a refund after we had a problem with one of the tools we hired. Great hire service, great value for money. Will definitely use them again and would recommend
The equipment that arrived was good and staff all very friendly. However, the kit arrived at 2pm leaving me very little hire time. On hiring a floor sander I ordered a full safety kit that did not arrive. I called and was on hold for 60 minutes followed by being passed around different departments and asked to call back twice. I was promised the safety kit would be delivered the following day, it never arrived with no follow up call. I had to do the job with no safety equipment as a result. The collection driver said I would get a refund on the safety kit, no refund received which I am still chasing. Gave up on customer service phone after a 20 minute wait, I'm chasing over email.
The equipment hired was faulty, i returned the wacker plate to the store as soon as they reopened and advised it was faulty, they just changed the contract date and didnt refund me, advised i would have to call customer service to get a refund. Tried for over an hours to get through to customer service but no one answers the calls.
Don't have goods bought a week ago, has created delay on the job , can't deliver for another 13 days, poor comms. All in all poor service.
Had issue with machine breaking down after 20 minutes, then couldn't get through to HSS. Eventually rang the local branch and they sorted another machine out that worked great and refunded me for the inconvenience.
I found the live chat support very helpful indeed. The agent D.N. answered the questions I couldn't find answers to on the site about hiring a pressure washer, about connectivity and delivery provision. Very helpful, prompt service, and courteous too.
The service and equipment provided by the local branch was very good and personal and recommendable, except no return receipt was offered. But the communication with HSS Pro requesting a final invoice and receipt was poor: no reply to my emails, instead random automatic emails with refund amounts that provided no context and did not appear on the account when stated. So if you trust automated systems, don't worry. If you don't, hold your nerve.
Wasted literal days of my time. Told me to wait for the pick up of the carpet cleaner on two different occasions and never showed up! Despite being on the phone with them for over an hour. Waste of time

The team at the branch were excellent. They were so professional but friendly and helpful. The item was great and the collection and drop off a breeze.
EDIT- I have now received a refund for the jetwasher hire and therefore raised the star rating. However, taking home faulty equipment does raise a question mark on the validity of the service document that was issued at the time of our hire. And it caused us a huge inconvenience for works we had planned to do. There was a faulty valve with the pressure washer and it was good to know that the issue was indeed a faulty machine. It would be helpful if HSS could have a full day of business on a Saturday to deal with issues such as this rather than closing at 1pm, most people only have Saturdays and Sundays for jobs like this at home. Original review: Despite going online and doing all the trouble shooting suggestions, our pressure washer didn't work, and I have still been charged for the hire despite emailing straight away on the morning we hired it. We have used pressure washers in the past and so the fault is not with our water or supply. Nobody answers the phone for HSS when you try to call and I am still waiting for a response to my complaint sent nearly a month ago, which I also sent a follow up email for a few weeks ago. Terrible customer service and no answering from their phone line or via email. I'm still waiting for a response HSS...
I had booked the hire of a cement mixer for 10 days more than a week in advance, but when I arrived at the Pemberton, Wigan branch to collect, the chap had no idea I was coming and initially said he had none available. On checking the system, he then said he had two bookings for that day for mixers and wasn't sure how that was going to happen when he didn't have them. Unbelievable that he was unaware of what bookings he had! The story then changed, and it transpired he DID have a mixer, but it wasn't yet cleaned and tested and this was going to take 20 - 30 mins so I had to wait. He then asked if I needed the transformer with it, with a rather condescending attitude and said I was supposed to select this on the web page as an option. I was unaware of such a 'drop down' selection and have since gone back and checked. There is no such option I can find to select the transformer separately. I was charged an additional £16.80 for the hire of the transformer on top of what I already paid online for the mixer. Not such a good deal as I had thought. Thank goodness the mixer itself was absolutely fine and worked a treat, and the return (different staff member) was fine too. The two star review is because of the way I was made to feel during the collection, like I was intruding and disturbing his day, and that I must be stupid for not pre-booking the Transformer that ought to have been provided with the mixer in the first place, despite this never having been obvious as an option. This chap seriously needs to attend a customer service training course before being allowed to represent HSS.

Got the equipment, no problem there. Off-hired 2 days early and a month later I am still waiting for refund for the 2 days. Have sent several emails and not even had the decency to reply.
First whacker broke after 1 hour and a replacement was dispatched which did not vibrate at all. This is the third time I have hired a whacker in the last 4-5 years and everytime they have broke down.
