This review is is regarding a meat purchase at the Food Lion store, located at 1338 N Main St, Fuquay Varina, NC. Around a week before Christmas, my wife purchased a 3+ lb brisket meat from this location, because we were planning on having this on Christmas day, especially since some close friends were coming over that day. It should be noted that my wife is a gourmet cook and she got up early to ensure that the brisket was cooked to perfection, along with the preparation for all the other meal items. Well, when it came time to finish the meat, she (and all of us) were beyond flabbergasted to experience a rubbery, tough textured meat, with no taste whatsoever. How could this be? Well, it was apparently a very bad cut of meat, labeled as brisket. It was so rubbery, that it immediately ruined the festive mood. We didn't have any backup, so everybody had to become a vegetarian on Christmas Day. Most of our meat purchases in the past have been from Harris Teeter or Lowes, and we've never had issues such as this with any of their meat selections. My wife (and I agree) said she will never purchase meats again from Food Lion - it was that horrible - perhaps one of the worst pieces of meat we've ever had. So buyer beware - that was almost a $30 waste of money for us - bummer.
I spent almost $170.00 for a 15 lb Standing Rib Roast and seasonings needed to prepare. It was delivered to my son's new home (over an hour away from me) where we were going to celebrate Christmas/New Home together with my daughter-in-law's family. The anticipation and excitement to have Prime Rib was high. Unfortunately, we did not receive a whole 15 lb prime rib, it was cut into sections. Although it was the first time cooking it for my daughter-in-law, had it been whole as ordered, the cooking technique would have work perfectly. Having followed the instruction I gave (super easy and my son has cooked them before) The Prime Rib turned into Rib Roast mid-well to well. 2 families to feed ALL looking forward to Prime Rib mid-rare. Very disappointed there wasn't a notice or message sent advising the Prime Rib would be sectioned. At least she could have known to cook it in sections, one at a time with different time frames. Nothing. We don't return food as it only gets wasted and thrown away. Please insure that your online customers know EXACTLY what we will get for a seasonal, expensive item.

There is no meat products in them boxes. No canned tuna fish, chicken beaf or pork products in any of them gift boxes that they sale. To give to the needy. 6.00 dollars gives you. A couple of cans of vegetables, posta and tammatel sause. No meat. Any body living on the street or is in need has that stuff already stocked up
Employees are never friendly! Not to make it sound racial but I’ve seen cashiers speak to white ppl in line ahead of me and when it’s my turn, they don’t part their lips, not even a hey! This is in Elizabethtown, NC! I like shopping there but the employees make the experience very uncomfortable! Asking for help, you may as well just find it yourself, they’re not even nice about that!
I enjoyed shopping at Food Lion in Gallatin TN because their store is always clean and they sell the best meats in Gallatin TN.But I am very upset over not receiving my MVP reward for November yet. I call the customer service number more than a few times. If they are not going to give us our rewards any more than Food Lion needs to like their customers know. With rewards or not I will still we be a customer.Been one for over 20 years or more....
I am an Instacart employee and I shop here a lot. I was there at the Ashley Rd location today and I was extremely disappointed. There were 3 register lights on and only one cashier at the register working. I had three orders and I work on a time schedule. I can't use the self checkout due to it being more than 12 items. There were no customers at self checkout, but I couldn't use it. So I had to stand there and wait for someone to come to the registers, which took a good 5 minutes. I timed it. Then the young lady that finally came to the register had an attitude as if she would rather be anywhere but there. If you don't want to work you should have called out. Next the entire time she was ringing me up she was on her cell phone. One call came in, she answered had a conversation and then call someone on the phone while I was waiting. She stopped ringing my order to answer her phone and to call someone. That is rude and very unprofessional. When this happens I lose money due to losing time. I have 16 years of cashier experience and it has never taken that long to take care of a customer. The older lady at the register was working slow, but she was faster than the cashier I had. So Foodlion at the end of the day if your cashiers are slow why not allow us to use the self checkout regardless of how many items we have.
The cashier shut down the express lane 5 minutes after I got in line. Her light was on when I got on line. I explained that her light was on and I had only 4 items. She was rude and told ne her lane was closed. After waiting in another lane lane I hear an announcement that the lane I was at was open with no line or waiting. What?
Hello Bridgeville community I want to take a moment to express Great disappointment in the treatment that I and fellow residents in the Bridgeville community have experienced personally and have share with one another. I walked into food lion today as I sometimes do and without fail the nasty energy begins from the minute you walk into the store the energy is negative. This store hires some of the most unpleasant miserable employees on this end of Delaware. If you ask for assistance they hardly want to assist you. They are pointing down the aisle telling to look in this isle and that isle even when you tell them you have looked. I stop to customer service today and there is an elder woman with a short grey hair cut who watches me out the corner of her eye stand there for ten minutes never asking do I need help nor did she ever acknowledge my presence as always. So I asked excuse miss how does one get help at customer service. She then aggressively says we are all busy and you have to just wait. I express there is no need for her to be nasty I only asked a question. She then turn around and then another guy gets off the register and ask what do I need. I wish that some other major corporation comes and build a beautiful and clean and friendly supermarket where I and the other retired veterans can spend our hard earned money. In a better suited grocery store I can’t wait for another supermarket enter the town and build a better experience for this community. When you get so comfortable as a business owner to where your customers do not matter. I would love to come in this supermarket just once and just one employee out of the dozen have a decent attitude. Just one.
I would give Food Lion 0 stars if that was possible. I am so very frustrated. I have spent endless hours on the phone dealing with this issue and it still has not been resolved. I placed an on-line order on 10/9 to be picked up on 10/10. My bank account was charged for two orders. I placed and picked up one order. When I call, I just keep being transferred from one person to the next, and I still have not received a refund for being doubly charged. Extremely poor Customer Care!!!
Horrible! They take your money and then not have the groceries ready. Corporate hung up on me! No store answers their phone! I’m seeing these mf’ers! That or getting revenge…..and you don’t want that food lion.
I went to food lion yesterday. store no 00144,reg 004,cashier 0211,ticket no. 0087 at 1.06 pm i bought Roma tomatoes and was charged for vine ripe tomatoes which is $1.00 more per lb,this was the 2nd time this has happened,when i brought it to the cashiers attention,she said that there was no plu on the tomatoes,when i asked her to correct it she got extremly rude.she has done this to me 2 times,how many times has she done this to others,she was a black lady and i will never go to her reg again. she should be reprimanded or fired.i was a supervisor for a chain up north and would never tolerate a team member to talk to a customer in that way
I went to Food Lion on the 29th of October 2024, located in Woodbridge on Rt. 1 and Featherstone Rd. I asked a female employee for a case of coconut water and she went to the back twice and the second time she returned with the item and she had opened the box and taken out a few of the brand new drinks and replaced them with drinks that were dusty and had a brown substance around the rims. I asked her why the carton was open and she hunched her shoulders and looked at me. So I asked her again and she said " I don't know" then she had the n e r v e s to ask me with a s t r a i g h t face if I still wanted to buy the carton. Then before I could answer she said "we have another carton but it has the bigger size". I said no I would just get them elsewhere. I continued to shop and I thought, now this grown woman just tried to scam me over a carton of coconut water, why am I still here and why would I purchase anything from them. So I left the basket and walked out. I still cannot imagine what she was thinking when she came back with an open box and had replaced the new drinks with drinks that were dusty and leaking. I think what she did was replace what they were sending back as a loss or write off. For a long while now, the store doesn't look clean and the produce section has fruits and vegetables still on the shelf, that if I sought to feed it to the birds they should pull an Alfred Hitchcock on us humans. I am still baffled at how this grown woman actually had the nerves to try and sell me spoiled drinks. It appears there was something happening in her head that her brain failed to process. They may want to get rid of her because chances are someone else may have purchased the items and not noticed the spoilage and given it to one of their children and/or drank it theirself. I for one don't ever intend to step across that threshhold to shop, not in Woodbridge or any other Food Lion. I sticking with WEGMANS, GIANT, SAFEWAY, WHOLEFOOD, and MOMS. The ladies in the dehli are exceptional employees. It seems to me the home office has gathered all the rude cashiers and sent them to this store. I have reported two of them to the present manager and one little fellow makes it a point to be rude to me, not realizing I just feel sorrier for him each time. Food Lion thank you for your service, but its time to part ways. That grown woman could've gotten someone poisoned or worst yet killed. I think they should send in a military person in to run that store and keep the dehli personnel and start over in hiring mature teens and older adults. Beware, of the woman who will open new products and replace with spoiled, dusty, writen off ones. Just saying. I started to report her, but something tells me she would still be employed and do it again and again until she hurts or is responsible for a death. And I am not JOKING OR BEING FUNNY.
Store #1318 in Richmond Virginia. The store manager is dismissive, ineffective and inefficient. Out of date merchandise throughout the store. Rude and incompetent staff. Obviously unhappy employees who are grouchy with customers or busy congregating and gossiping with one another and act irritated if you interrupt needing assistance. Very often the customer service desk is unmanned. On more than one occasion there were no cashiers anywhere and every customer was required to use self checkout. Once when using self checkout my two cents change didn't come out and the light flashed for assistance. The man from customer service came over to see what the problem was and then asked me if I needed my two cents. I just told him no because apparently that was a problem for him to get it for me.
I just experienced a disgusting rude lady at the service desk, she is the worst ALL of the others are very polite. I had reported her to the manager about two months previous about lying to me saying that they didn't do Netspend refills and they did. I reported her to the manager and the manager took care of me. Found out she's a supervisor there but she's lazy and rude. Today I wanted two money orders and she complained the whole time and was telling her boyfriend that was standing around in the way, see that why I was telling you that I need to get another job. Tried Food Lion's website and delivery via InstaCart....first of all, the website doesn't work properly so pay close attention to your order before paying. Second, they were out of 3 cases of soda I wanted (half my order) and sent a text asking if I wanted to sub, I immediately said yes and sent them an alternative, but received a text saying my shopper had already checked out. Long story short, I was charged $7.99 BEFORE tip to deliver $23 in groceries. I emailed InstaCart, they sent a form notice saying someone would talk to me and then nothing. This is the last money they'll EVER con me out of...
Food Lion store in Advance, NC. The cashiers are too engaged in carrying on private conversations with each other while assisting customers. It seems every time I go in during the day, it is the same individuals neglecting their customers, standing around doing nothing and today was the last straw for me. Three cashiers who were engaged in talking about their Christmas ornaments while I was being checked out, also made smirks and comments when I was leaving the store. When I am checking out, I am trying to make sure everything is being run up correctly, but when the cashier isn't paying attention as she scan, the room for error exists. When I asked to speak to the manager, Josh, he could have cared less. I thought he was actually going to laugh in my face. When I think of all of the money my family spends in this Food Lion alone, I can't understand why they can't afford to do customer relations training. By the way, the manager is Josh and he definitely didn't want to hear my concern. He didn't speak and did not indicate any regret or extend an apology. They lost a good customer!
I gave a 1 star b/c there is no 0 option. We shop at the Seneca SC store, and my wife bought lamb steaks Wednesday and I put them in the freezer. Took one out about 5 hrs later ,opened the bag and gagged: THE MEAT WAS BAD!!!!!!! She will be returning it, but we will NEVER shop there again. We are at least bi-weekly shoppers, but not anymore.
Food Lion customer service at corporate level is a joke. You fill out a form with a problem and they use an AI generated response that would fill 2 pages if you printed it out. I have contacted them several time concerning a product not stocked or a product that was discontinued. It is not a human answering the complaint. In 4 years I got the exact same response word for word and letter for letter the same time. If you call or chat you will get the exact same response they send you in the email-word for word. They do not care about customer complaints. They probably hire work at home staff who know nothing about Food Lion customer service and are paid minimum wage to sit at home and answer customer calls.
