It was very easy to use Centauro, which I and my familiy has done for more than 15 years. During the last two years the service has overall developed and the price for full cover insurance.

Horrible experience. The only way to get there from Madrid airport is with a shuttle( badly organized) and once we got there we had to wait hours in the sun in the queue.

Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience with the Centauro Chania Airport office. We arrived at night to pick up the car, and they told us to walk around it and take photos. We did so using a flashlight, but we couldn’t see the scuff mark on the underside of the black bumper in the dark. They charged us for this damage (€350), even though we didn’t cause it. The damage was significant enough that we would have heard it if, for example, we had hit a curb. But no one else could have caused it either, because it was on the underside. The office made a mistake by not thoroughly inspecting the car after its previous use. The other possibility is that they deliberately wanted to pin this damage on us. The employee went straight to the damaged spot, as if they already knew it was there… It was easy to deceive three women in the dark. It was an extremely unfair situation, but we couldn’t prove we weren’t responsible. However, we know for sure that we didn’t cause it!
Easy procedure to book and return car. No deposit, full insurance and fairly priced including fuel policy. No hidden charges! All staff are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend if you need a car in Costa Blanca you will not be disappointed.
Huur hier geen auto! Online een auto geboekt met verzekering en tijdens het ophalen van de auto nog een extra verzekering moeten betalen van €300. Hier werd geen uitleg niks over gegeven. Alles moest snel afgehandeld en betaald worden en er was geen tijd voor een uitleg.
We rented a car from Centauro. When we came to pick up the car, we needed to add a driver, because my husband lost his wallet on the way here. Because the reservation was in his name, they told us, that the main driver had to be him. But that would not be possible, because he didn’t have his driverslicense. So Centauro could not help, because we rented a car through economybookings. When we called economybookings, they refused to help us as well. So I hope they enjoy the money they got for the car. And we left in a taxi - without a car. Ps. The car was booked for 87euro - when we asked to make a new booking as the car was just there, they asked for 467euro.
Acabo de llegar a aeropuerto de Alicante y me encuentro con una col de 30 personas por delante de mi, mínimo 2 horas de espera, llevo alquilando tiempo con Centauro y está creo que será la ultima. 2 horas es una locura, sabiendo lo que tienen deberían reforzar el servicio. Una auténtica broma
J'ai loué à plusieurs reprises dans l'agence de Pise sans problème jusqu'à récemment. Suite à un incident sur le véhicule, ce dernier a été changé le 21.05 avec un niveau d'essence inférieur à celui pris le 17 mai. Au retour du véhicule le 25.05 j'ai fait le plein à l'identique de celui du 17.05. Centauro me rembourse un demi plein (celui du 21.05). Je fais une réclamation en ligne le 06.06.25 - depuis plus rien ! A Milan, idem : si vous faites le plein au lieu de remplir de manière strictement identique à la prise de véhicule (à 40%), vous ne percevez que le montant correspondant à 40% du plein. Tout bénéfice pour Centauro !!!
Huge scam! I rented a car in Mallorca, the first week of June, with full coverage through Billiger-Mietwagen. When I picked it up, they asked for a €250 deposit. Upon returning the car, I found out they had added an extra insurance that was completely useless since I already had full coverage. They stole me €156 — outrageous!
Fate attenzione ⚠️. Prenotato con Vip Car, aeroporto Olbia. Arrivo ore 23.30, difficoltà a trovare il posto, buio da non poter vedere se l auto ha problemi. Non abbiamo provato la serratura manualmente! C'è l'apertura con telecomando. SBAGLIO!! Alla restituzione auto mi contestano la serratura forzata e mi addebitano 420 euro!!! Da notare che l' auto con l apertura manuale si apriva ugualmente. Ho fatto la foto! Il tipo ( a detta sua polacco e da 20 anni in Sardegna) non mi è piaciuto per niente, è stato frettoloso nonostante gli ho fatto notare che l auto si apriva e mi ha detto di fare richiesta del rimborso assicurativo a Vip Cars. A ME SEMBRA SOLO UNA FREGATURA per prendere due soldi in più Quindi EVITARE...e comunque non finisce qui
We paid £68.66 deposit on fuel we filled tank to the brim at airport when we got our deposit back £62.81 which is short showed receipt and and was told everything was fine the rate of the euro were the same on delivery as return so why the short fall no mileage extra this is not right has left a bad feeling if not resolved Will not be using again if not resolved will leave a better rating if it is
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the car I rented from Centauro recently. My booking was for a Hyundai Kona, but I was instead given a Nissan Townstar. This vehicle was completely unsuitable. Not only did it resemble a delivery van, but it was also heavily scratched and, more importantly, consistently pulled to the right side while driving. This made my journey, especially on the motorway, incredibly difficult and frankly, unsafe. This is not the standard of vehicle I expect when renting from Centauro, nor is it what I booked. I urge you to investigate this matter and take steps to ensure such a discrepancy and a poorly maintained vehicle are not provided to other customers in the future.
Horrendous experience in Corfu. Firstly, they left us standing at the airport at 11pm despite having had the car booked for 2 months. They didn’t turn up so we walked to their office to find they were shut. We had to walk back to the airport and get a taxi which cost €60. We called in the morning and were assured we could come to the office and get the car. We had to get the bus to the airport which took a hour on the first day of our holiday. However when we got there, they stated they wouldn’t honour the booking and the price had gone up. By this time we had missed the last bus back to our village. Stranded we had to get a bus to the nearest village and pay another €25 for a taxi for the rest of the journey. Unprofessional and unreliable. I dread to think how they would have been on return of the vehicle. The customer service was awful and the experienced staff left a youngster dealing with it. We felt for him though his only response was “why should I care, I don’t get the money”. Our 35 minutes being stood up at the airport though was really helpful as we were able to see which hire car companies did turn up. Avoid this company - Corfu has much better than this to offer.

The shuttle is a joke, they are not on schedule, very rude and will not accommodate. They lie, cheat and steal. They have terrible customer service and do not help. ***AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
Bonjour, a cause du retard du vol AH 2004 , je suis venu à 21h30 pour récupérer le véhicule au parking car j'avais l'option Fast-key , alors à mon arrivée j'avais mon téléphone portable déchargé, j'ai demandé l'aide afin de récupérer les clés à la machine, mais personne ne voulait m'aider surtout un homme qui portait des lunettes, ils ont fermé le bureau à,22h00 , alors j'ai revenu au bureau au au arrivée , donc une femme au guichet número 2 qui m'a vraiment assisté pour récupérer le véhicule, donc la société doit revoir avec les employés qui travaillent aux niveau du parking de l'aéroport.
Awful and aggressive customer service - they were basically terrifying people into taking their local insurance. Women who dealt with me became very unhelpful as soon as I was adamant (and I had to be very forceful!) that I had my own insurance. She started to speak very quickly (and quietly) and refused to confirm with me that as long as I returned the car undamaged I would pay no excess. She just kept repeating that if there were any scratches on the car at all I would pay the 1400 euro amount. They even had a "stooge" who came to the counter next to me to shout about how they'd charged him 1400 euros for damage they'd made up. Left me feeling very anxious about the car and ended up thoroughly videoing the vehicle on collection and drop off. Also on drop off there was no one there to actually check the car with me so I was left worrying until the refund did appear on my card later that day (although fuel refund took two days),. The staff in the garage didn't care one jot and basically told me that the counter staff were just after their commission.
Extrêmement déçu. J’avais pris la formule Premium justement pour éviter l’attente, mais j’ai quand même dû patienter très longtemps pour récupérer ma voiture. Aucune organisation, aucun respect du client. Le personnel était froid, peu accueillant, et ne faisait aucun effort pour expliquer ou accélérer les choses. Clairement, cette option “prioritaire” est une arnaque. Je ne recommande absolument pas Centauro.
The experience with Centauro and especially Centauro Lisboa is mixed, positive and negative. So let the facts speak for themselves. Initial experience: the bus that was supposed to pick us up from Lisbon airport never showed up, so after an hour of waiting we had to go to their offices by taxi. When we picked up the car from their office, we waited for an hour, so our schedule has already been violated by two hours. The experience with the car that was delivered to us was impeccable, the vehicle was new, the trip was smooth, our pleasure was high. The return of the car was also easy due to the premium insurance , we delivered it with a full tank of fuel, the use of ViaVerde for tolls was checked and the employee assured us that the amount of 158+ euros would be refunded. So the financial side: In addition to the full advance payment for the reservation on March 25, 2025, upon receipt of the vehicle on May 30, 2025, I was charged 121 euros for fuel and 100 euros as a guarantee for using tolls through Viaverde. I returned the car with a full tank, so I should have been refunded 121 euros. Of the 100 euros for tolls, I used 62.83 euros, so I should have been refunded the remaining 37.17 euros. In total, the company should have refunded me 158.17 euros. Instead, they only refunded me 58.17 euros, without sufficient explanation. I have contacted them by email but have not received a response, although the 14 days they asked me to. Mistake, lack of organization, fraud? This is the third time I've rented a car from Centauro. Bologna, Bilbao, Lisbon. They also did a dirty job to me in Bilbao and never responded to my messages. I didn't follow up then. But now they've gone too far. Just the fact that I'm dealing with negative situations after such a successful trip (negative review, complaint to the European Consumer, dispute of a transaction at the bank) unfortunately takes away a lot of the pleasure that this beautiful country gave me.
Le personnel au parking est détestable. Nous avons été insulté avec des bras d'honneur. Nous avions loué un siège enfant qui n'était pas dans la voiture et il a fallu 20 minutes pour le personnel se calme et nous donne le siège enfant. C'était à nous de le fixer!! Ce comportement est inexcusable !!
UPDATE : it has been 3 weeks since we hired with Centuaro and still not received any response from them despite numerous emails. No refund. Disgusting so please,please avoid. If you want good car hire company at Alicante use Keygo rent a car. They are fabulous and we were only forced to use centauro because we flew into Murcia and returned to Alicante. Never again will we use them or recommend them. Read Google reviews too and comments on their social media pages. Terrible. Everything was ok when we collected the car from Murcia airport even though they didn’t have the automatic we’d asked for so they had to mess about changing the fuel deposits for a different vehicle. We had paid for a premium insurance package so no need to check it all over and take photos like we usually do with other car hire companies and no deposit taken, just petrol deposit. We also paid to take it back to Alicante airport. We handed back the keys, asked someone to come and check our vehicle . The lady said no we don’t need to check it. Was this because we had a premium package? Great we thought, this is good, we will definitely use them again as we fly there a lot. As we boarded the plane we got a charge from our bank for Centauro, £226! When we called them to find out what this charge was for they told us the parcel shelf was missing. So they think to themselves we can’t get them on scratches but guess what we can get them on a missing parcel shelf because who would even question if there was one actually there or not upon collection especially as we had this premium package. Disgusted with them. They’ve also not refunded the petrol deposit either. €70!! I would avoid this company at all costs because what you think you’re getting with premium package is not worth the stress. And yes you are scammers because premium should mean everything. Not checking the car over with your customers and then billing them when they’ve left is fraudulent. We will take this further.
