Worst experience ever

Therapists are lacking professionalism and are immature and not attentive. Obviously just people with no actual degree or knowledge. They blame the patient for everything. They advocate suicide. They should be banned from providing mental health.

I am really surprised by the other…

I am really surprised by the other reviews. I have been using Brightside for about a year. I have seen two different providers during that time and my medication is sent to my pharmacy right away. The only reason I took a star off is because I have a hard time with the sound on the app. I can't fix it and my doctor has to call. I use zoom all the time so I'm not sure what is going on.

If I could give NEGATIVE STRS

If I could give NEGATIVE STRS, I WOULD!!!! They are USELESS, PATHETIC and CROOKED!!!!! I tried OVER and OVER to have my appointments. COULD NOT!!!!!! They tried to say I didn’t need a link to have my appointment. That is RIDICULOUS!!!! I have hosted and participated in HUNDREDS of Zooms over the years. They said the CANT refund my 95.00 because I missed my appointment. I DID NOT!!!!! I have 13 cents in the bank. DO NOT USE THEM. RUN THE OTHER WAY!!!!!!!!!!

RUN AWAY FROM THE BRIGHT!

These people left me in my time of need, they turned their backs, cut me off from meds instantly and called the police on me. Why? Because I was trying to meet with my 5 new provider in 6 months and my video screen was upside down. I told her I am sorry and could she please cut me some slack as I need help? No, she just kept on about the screen. It was like talking to a wall, I disconnected. Then my cell phone rings, she is trying to get me to log back on the site and says she’s trying to help. At this moment I had been screwed over enough by this company, I said no. The cops show up to my house 5 minutes later trying to get me to go to the hospital. She completely lied to the police and told them I was going to harm myself. Is this the help you are looking for? RUN AWAY FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE RUN! Brightside are scamming the mentally ill in their weakest moments! No way the reviews on their site are real, no way!

Worst online provider I have ever used

Where to start...... worst provider I ever used. I was optimistic that they could help, and I had insurance... but a high deductible....so I knew I would end up paying the whole bill, so I jut wanted to know what the were charging as I did not want a 600.00 bill surprising me . but after calling , emailing the support number NO ONE COUD TELL ME WHAT I WOULD BE CHARGED ...but they kept telling me my provider wanted to meet. I had the initial review which was rushed ...and I felt that they just picked at random. The med was awful and within 4 days we needed a change... and another unknown appointment fee ..... then she ordered a genetic test and when the results came in ....she wanted to meet again..... a 3rd fee in a month.... and no idea what I would owe. I cancelled within the first 3 weeks after 3 appointments Plus as a parting gift, the genetic testing they requested was billed to my insurance at 5,000.00 USD........ so they denied it ......so I may be on the hook for that astronomical amount...... This is simply a site for people that need basic needs on a base plan to get herded through like cattle, it is a numbers game. If you actually need help please see someone else .... or go F2F ......

Absolutely horrible with communicating

Absolutely horrible with communicating, non-responsive. They force you to communicate through text and email only. Will not follow up with insurance companies. The worst.

My therapist is great but the company…

Your response doesn't actually respond to the real issue. I have finally received my refund, but let's clarify your response. Your customer service number is not valid for billing issues, as stated on your website. So that number was of no use for my situation. The communication from support was extremely limited and did not create confidence that my problem would be resolved. Next, I knew I did not owe a copay, and that was verified by my insurance company, so it was a matter of being charged incorrectly. My therapist is great but the company has incorrectly billed my $25 on my credit card when there was no copay with my insurance. I provided the documentation from my insurance company verifying these incorrect charges but it has done no good. I've emailed and messaged through the portal multiple times with zero response, and there's no way to call anyone for assistance. I will be forced to file a fraud claim with my bank to get my money back at this point.

Blind taken advantage of

I had gone blind and asked for a fair refund for paying for months. I asked for simply two back. Terrible company. I was legally blind and they simply don’t care about customer satisfaction or referrals. Read your contract! Sometimes easy ends up the same. Bad business!

My therapist was a no show to our…

My therapist was a no show to our virtual appointment, I was messaging him with no response and finally just gave up and logged off. Tried to reschedule and his calendar was gone so then I started to worry. I placed a support ticket asking what my next steps were and 24 hours later got a notice that he was no longer a provider with them. Imagine if you show up to an in person appointment and your therapist isn’t there and does not respond to your messages and you are just waiting in the room with no direction. Not the best experience for a patient that is seeking help for anxiety. I still don't know what happend to him and hope he is ok.

They get an "A" from me for their…

They get an "A" from me for their mental health support. My son was having anxiety attacks and needed to talk to someone quickly. The therapy helped him immensely over the following weeks. The rest...."F". They should have billed our insurance that I know they take. The require a credit card with the insurance and they billed the monthly fee instead...no filing. There is NO PHONE SUPPORT...NO ONE TO CALL ABOUT BILLING AT ALL. You have to email...so expect days of back and forth and loads of frustration. I don't know any health company that works like this. And that it is mental health is worse....nothing like causing stress and anxiety just to deal with them. There are other Mental Health online services available. If you have insurance, investigate and then choose. Skip Brightside unless you are straight cash pay and never need to resolve anything.

Very corrupt, uncaring company out for money!

I am concerned because my son had a virtual visit with Thanh Nguyen and got prescribed Bupropion HCL SR 150 MG. It is concerning to me that an antidepressant was prescribed after a brief virtual visit and that the appointment resulted in an immediate prescription for an antidepressant. It seems like a medical professional would have the expertise and knowledge to try other less drastic measures before prescribing Bupropion which has many negative side effects which are not worth the risk. A prescription for Bupropion should be used as a last resort. How is the place still in business?! Shame on you Brightside Health! Obviously, Brightside Health is using the misfortune of other people for your own profit. Brightside Health preys on young, unsuspecting trusting patients and their hidden agenda is to breed a generation of antidepressant dependent patients. Thanh Nguyen is uncaring and unprofessional and will prescribe antidepressants at the drop of a pin. A caring professional with their patient’s well-being at heart would have taken the time to look at the whole picture. Their ultimate goal is to lure unsuspecting young people into lifelong dependency on antidepressants. People that contact Brightside Health are looking for help not a drug addiction. I am surprised a referral was not made to see a therapist, join a gym, visit a day spa, or engage in regular exercise. For a young person or anyone else for that matter, it should not be so easy to get highly dangerous prescription drugs. Heed my advice! Keep yourself and loved ones away from this corrupt company!

One of the worst experiences in my life. My provider quit--I was not told at the time. As we reached the time I would ordinarily have an appt I reached out to Brightside--"Sign in and email your provider." I did so: "Sorry you provider is no longer working for us...." which I recieved 10 days before I was to go on a month long trip. Contacted Brightside--they didn't even say sorry, but rather "make a new appt." New appt: I could not reach her to connect. I called for help: "Sorry make a new appt" 4 days before my trip. No appts were available in time. "Did we help?" No you didn't help. No one seemed to care or have any solutions. This is Malpractice. I am writing a letter to the Massachusetts Board of Medicine to complain. Worst psychiatric care ever...." Choose you poison well.

I went to them for help. I shouldn't have wasted my time.

I went to them for help. The video quality was terrible. The psychiatrist rescheduled our first appointment, was late for the rescheduled appointment. He told me he was going to put me on 2 medications the following day. Then went MIA for 4 days. Never got the medication. When I contacted Brightside via their preferred communication I received no response. I searched to contact a human and there was no way of getting in touch with anyone via their website or app. I had to Google their number. I called, instead of trying a new provider, I canceled my membership. No thank you Brightside. I don't need added anxiety and hopelessness from the people I reach out to for help. Update: thank you for your response 2 weeks later. I have already found great help at LifeStance Health.

Refusal of care cause of mental illness symptoms

Doctor stopped seeing me because of my behavior. Isn't that what their job is, is to deal with people with behavioral health problems. Bi polar being what I have. He simply stopped seeing me because I told him I felt like I was doing more than he was to figure it out, and that was every bit of the case I was the one who made the med changes

Really helped my family member when we couldn't get in to any local doctors

My family member had been seeing a therapist for about 9 months. When the decision was made to try medication, we could not get in to see any providers in our area for months. My husband found the brightside app and we were able to schedule a zoom appointment within 36 hours. I provided detailed history via the app before the appointment and this made the appointment go much smoother. The gentleman my family member spoke to was calm, kind and non-judgemental and agreed with our therapist's recommendation. Within 3 hours we had the medication in hand. Seeing that most meds take 3-6 weeks to make a difference, we felt that time was of the essence. I cannot speak to the level of care you'd receive if you didn't have a therapist already, but we knew we wanted to try some medication and Brightside made it easy for us. My family member is continuing to see his therapist and he has a follow up with the brightside nurse this week. So far, so good! It was a quick and easy step to take when local doctors were either not accepting new patients or their first available appointment time was months away.

Won't provide medical leave paperwork or emotional support animal paper work. They are more just drug dealers and pill pusher than actual doctors who care. They just want you on drugs and not actually help with your issues the drugs cause

DO NOT USE

I received a 15 minute call in which I specifically said I was not interested in drugs and gave a very detailed explanation of the reason I was seeking therapy. There was no attempt to help whatsoever, only an attempt to solve the problem with drugs even though that is specifically what I said I did not want to do. There was a rush to get off the phone which I thought was due to the fact that the consultation was free. Come to find out that I was charged my co-pay and sent a prescription for the drugs I DID NOT WANT. Way to make mental health issues worse.

Don't trust the reviews on their site

Don't trust the reviews on their site! They are not real. I used them for four months they shuffled me through 3 providers who cancelled on me and one wasn't even allowed to see people in my state. When I tried to cancel they kept charging me and never responded to my request for a refund

Friendly staff and care but they didn’t send my med order in and it’s hard to get the resolved in a timely manner. That’s disappointing since I can’t say when someone will get back, or what me Dr.’s schedule is.

I am bipolar and need to get back on meds. The provider told me that because I was hospitalized once over 25 years ago I am not a good candidate for online care. Update: I requested a refund of my initial fee because there was no service provided. The request was denied. "Hello Jackie, Thank you for reaching out to us and I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. Unfortunately, we are not able to issue a refund for the services provided, including the initial video consultation and treatment recommendation from doctor. Please note that your provider not only completes a thorough review of all of your information prior to your scheduled consultation but they also hold that time on their calendar to complete your appointment. Our refund policy is outlined both in our terms of use and FAQ's, which states we are unable to issue refunds after the time of your initial scheduled consultation has passed." I will drop the issue but this place is not trying to help people and I truly feel like they ripped me off.
