DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!! I've used two other tele-therapy providers and never had any issues like what I experienced with Brightside. The app was glitchy from the start but since I was only paying $40 per session (or so I thought) I stuck it out. 5 months into using this service, and being charged the $40 I was told I would owe, at the end of each session. I got an email saying they messed up the billing and I should have been paying $80/session and I owed them all that back money NOW. When I asked for details since the dates and amounts they noted didn't match up, they were never able to provide the full details on dates of service or why they had told me an incorrect amount. After HOURS with their support team and being promised I would get a call back to discuss before being charged they charged my card over $400. This was also after I had canceled my account. A month later they charged me another almost $200. So not only did they fail to provide details on where these charges were coming from, they're keeping my card information on file to charge a month after it should have been removed from their system. It's so terrible that a service that's focused on mental health would take advantage of their customers in this way. STAY AWAY!!

DISHONEST BUSINESS …

I canceled my initial appointment with the therapist and the psychiatrist multiple times and they still did not cancel. Then they have the nerve to charge me a missed appointment fee for a cancelled appointment. They are shady and dishonest. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!

Red Flag Feelings About This Website …

They said my insurance was accepted but there was nobody in my a area to help me. Everything is done on-line, how is that even possible? I hope they don't start charging my insurance for their own personal use or sell my information.

Complete Scam - Will Steal Your Money

Canceled my service 2 days before 1st appointment. I could not find anywhere to cancel the appoint. Figured canceling the service would cancel the appointment but I was still charged as a no-show. Sent several emails asking for help/clarification and was only sent a bill instead. They stole my money.

They charge you fees regardless of reason.

Well had a car accident the am of the first appointment. Could not contact them as they lock your profile so you can’t cancel within 24 hours. Then they charged my FSA $70. For missed appointment. My copay was $30. Now they send letters to reschedule. No I will dispute the charge. But if you are playing let’s surcharge a new client , they think business will continue as normal. No you lose that client. The app locks so you can make any changes. They also don’t reply to emails.

Nothing but problems

Nothing but problems. Surprisingly the site worked great while completing questions and getting appointments made. However, when time to sign in for my sessions, nothing worked! My password wasn't recognized, my account would get frozen after one attempt, make a new password, try to login with new password, nope tokens not valid, locked out again. Tried calling, was on hold 20 minutes, left message, Nothing! Sent emails, Nothing But they tried to take $140.00 from my checking account for "missed appointments". My mental health needs HELP not more aggravation! NOTE: They did refund the money taken, BUT I tried two more times, set up appointments and each time the app would not work, having the same issues as before. After looking forward to this, I have given up.

Signing up with Brightside was a nightmare

Signing up with Brightside was a nightmare. I found their website very confusing. I had lots of questions up front that they answered in increments after my re-asking. Took assessment, received completion notice, then began to receive threatening messages my appointment would be cancelled if I didn’t do the assessment. I was communicating with 2 people who obviously were not aware of this as their information conflicted. I think this organization is a scam, I wish I would have read more reviews before I spent weeks jumping through their hoops. I feel this is pretty abusive to put someone through a wringer when they are in a horrible mental health place in their life This is the Third time I’ve been asked to verify I’m a real person. I am a real person.

After charging me monthly for a random…

After charging me monthly for a random fee, claiming it was for services rendered (No services were rendered btw) they sent me as well as my husband identical emails claiming they did not charge us for multiple 'service dates' in which neither of us had appointments. They are charging 93$ to me and $98 to my husband, the costs of each 'service' varying wildly despite us having the same insurance. When you try to call they tell you to 'email if you have an issue' and hang up on you. It's really something. I have not been receiving prescriptions or any form of 'service' from them since my therapist left them for employee mistreatment. They are a horrible company with no care about the costs they are falsely charging, as I have not been using their services for nearly 6 months. At this point believe I am a victim, like many others, of predatory billing and false backcharges.

This company is an absolute scam

This company is an absolute scam. I signed up because, after they asked for insurance information, it said $0 copay, $0 membership fee. I would have never signed up if I knew the prices. The prices were never told to me until months later when I get two separate invoices totaling over $1000. I called them today to get on a payment plan, which they recommended, and they went ahead and billed me for $641. I have children to take care of! This is the biggest scam and to do it to people that need mental help is beyond infuriating. Absolutely dishonest. Update: the reply to my review is news to me. I have yet to have any of my questions answered.

I signed up for Brightside for anxiety…they gave me more

I signed up for Brightside for anxiety due to financial issues, etc and had an appointment scheduled. On the morning of my appointment, I found out I could not attend the apptmt and had to reschedule. After a day, I saw they charged me $70 as a no show even though I had to reschedule. According to them, it must be prior to 24 hrs before. After reviewing all the screens and emails they sent me, I could not find where it said 24 hrs. I am charging them back for the fee....or at least for part of it. All this did was give me more anxiety on my finances and could not send to my insurance. IMO....$70 is way over the top, especially in this day of inflation.

miserable experience.

miserable experience. I think it’s time to stop pre-paying any business as too many show they can’t be trusted to be honest and understand the basic concept of a service should be adequately rendered and then the service should be paid for. I did not get what Brightside markets. after meeting my therapist, I felt significantly worse and sicker. I did go to two other therapists with free 15 minute consultations, and found a fit with one and have been staying there where I’ve actually found relief from my mental condition that can possibly be easily healed if everyone at Brightside just did their job competently. I deserve a full refund plus compensation for wasted time and to cover my worsened injuries.

Don't Do It.

First I would like to say that my therapist is incredible. She is my second therapist with Brightside. The first was an oxygen thief. I signed up with my Insurance when I saw Brightside offered coverage with a $35/session copay and a $0/month member fee. All of this is stated right up front on my "Current Plan". Fast forward to today, I received an invoice for the past 3 months informing me I owe $748. I have not had 21 sessions since January. If I did, I would probably be in a snug jacket in an institution. It's one thing if they told me upfront that I would be paying $125/session, its the $35/session copay that is still listed on my "Plan Settings" The only winners here are the insurance companies and Brightside.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! I scored a 21/21 on their anxiety test and currently in a seriously bad way. I was prescribed a blood pressure medication and the same old ineffective antidepressants. She didn't even listen to me. Towards the end I just started saying yeah and rushed to get off the call. It's all BS! Yet another "health care professional" has done nothing to help me even when I asked and pleaded. If you have serious anxiety and panic attack disorder, don't expect them to do anything to relieve that stress other than throw the same old ineffective drugs at you and try to up sell you for their therapy services. It's all a money making scheme with no substance. As the title says, don't waste your money.

False Advertising. Inflated, Deceitful Charges.

Advertised a $95/month cost + pharmacy copay, and told me that they are in-network for my insurance plan. Proceeded to charge my insurance company $466 with me owing $192 of that, for a single virtual visit with an NP that was billed as a 'physician' visit. I will never trust this company and never go back to them again. Stay away!

DO NOT SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE HERE

DO NOT SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE HERE! I had an appointment with a NP by the name of Paul Kariuki, yesterday at 7:30 p.m., which should have raised red flags in the first place. Total waste of money and time. He wasn't interested in any of my symptoms and he claimed that they didn't treat panic disorders although the websites clearly advertises that they do. He also claimed that since I've tried other medications in the past that failed, it was pointless prescribing other medications in the same family. You could see all hope leave my eyes by the end of the appointment. I was shocked. I guess they are making any and everyone nurses and doctors these days because he didn't even try. He gave absolutely no effort or suggestions, NOTHING. It was like paying a stranger for pointless conversation. I should have read the reviews here first.

This company preys on people needing help.

Brightside continued to charge me for services they were not providing. The company told me that I would need to pay an additional $50.00 to meet with a new provider and when I refused continued to charge me for medication management even though they provided no further prescriptions. Even after I asked that my service be cancelled they proceeded to charge me for another month. This company uses predatory billing practices to take advantage of people who need help, but may not have the time or finances to find an in-person provider. Just a little update on my previous review. When they say the problem was resolved directly, what they mean is they refunded one month of charges for services that, were not provided and promptly charged me the next month without providing further services. At this point I am giving up on trying to get any real resolution and will count the money they took as a loss. This was a great learning experience and hopefully anyone who takes the time to read this review knows to stay away from Brightside Health.
