Have been with Bord Gais for a year, got a better deal with SSE so signed up with them; Bord Gais (BG) got in touch with a deal that matched SSE so I decided to stay with BG. BG advised to cancel SSE contract & call them back within 10 days to avail of their better offer. I did this but BG couldn’t sign me up as they had more work to do cancelling the gas side of things With SSE. It was outside the 10 days offer when BG finally sorted out the gas. And I wasn’t offered the deal I was offered initially by BG despite calling them 6 times to try get it sorted. I found BG customer service terrible. When I got through eventually to speak to someone they either could not deal with my query as they hadn’t the knowledge or their system was down. I’m switching to someone else now and I found better value since elsewhere.
Never any hassle, great support service, very well priced. All good stuff!

I have been with Bord Gais since 1998 and always find them easy to contact and excellent customer service. I find there prices very competitive. I like to pay by level pay so I always know how much my bills will be up to 3 months in advance. I also pay €17 per month for boiler care. This cover’s my yearly service and any call out’s I need plus over €1000 worth of parts. I have my boiler 18 years and its still working well. I would not change suppliers because every year when my contract is up for renewal they offer me great deals. I find Bord Gais is one of the few companies who actually rewards loyal customers. I am utterly appalled at the unprofessionalism of this company. We ordered a boiler service over two months ago. The scheduled appointment was for a month later. No one showed up. We called them on the day to see were they coming and were assured that they were. They did not. Got no call saying no one would be coming until after the window of their expected arrival expired. The soonest they could schedule the next appointment was for a month later. One month later the same again, no one showed up. Got no call at all this time. Called them to ask when they’d be coming and they said someone would call me back in a few minutes - no one ever did. The next day I got a call about the no show and customer service said the engineer claimed to have attempted to call to say they wouldn’t be coming. This was not true as we received no such call or missed call. We asked for our money back and we will be going elsewhere. Two months waiting for nothing. Shameful. Customer service staff were rude about it also. I can’t believe that a company of their size are so bad at simply scheduling an appointment and sticking to it. I will be advising colleagues, friends and family to go elsewhere for a boiler service.
I’ve always found bord gáis extremely professional and I prefer speaking with a person. Their deals are similar to others so as I have always had good experience with them I don’t see any reason for changing suppliers.
My experience was brilliant from day I switched over from prepay power . My bills have halved so glad I moved .
We had our boiler serviced by a bordgas engineer 18/11/24 very happy with service. The gentleman was very efficient clean and knowledgeable. All questions we had were answered making us feel safe and happy with using our gas.
We have our boiler serviced every year and the Engineers are very professional and have the job done in no time.

Easy on line and user friendly
Had a call with Patrick from customer care today. He called me back straight away when the call dropped! He gave me a clear guide to setting up my account and answered any question I asked and explained everything perfectly. I’m so pleased with my experience today, probably the best customer service I have ever received!! :)
