AVIOD AUTOUNION IN ZADAR AIRPORT
Tried to pick up my reserved car in Zadar Airport. Had a car booked with four carseats (with extra costs stated on the booking) and two ekstra drivers (cost 0 kr according to the booking website). They only had two seats (the salesman did not care at first, but got the ekstra seats in about 40 min). When I handed in the voucher, he demanded payment for the third driver, opposed to the booking. We denied paying this. When trying to pay for the car, our credit card (a Visa card) got denied claming it was invalid. Only solution, change the drivers name and a new credit card with drivers name, but AutoUnion could not help with this. Tried calling booking agency (impossible to reach them, thus no car). Spent four and a half hours on this. AutoUnion promise to hold the reservation for the car for 24 hours, so we can try and fox it with the booking agency. At midnight, finally get in touch with booking agency, they fix the driver issue, send a new voucher to me and AutoUnion. I call AutoUnion next morning regarding new voucher, they claim they haven’t received it. They can help me print my copy, but it would not help me. Its not valid….Seriously?!? I call booking agency, tell them to fix this immediately, they write me that all is in order and AutoUnion will call me shortly. Hour and a half later, no call. I call AutoUnion, salesperson tells me that the booking was cancelled and has been since the day before. They filled me with complete nonsense and the car I booked was never mine to begin with. NEVER NEVER NEVER USE THEM…IT’S A COMPLETE SCAM! PS: they told me that my creditcard would be denied by every other rental car company at the airport, due to Croatian regulation regarding forreign creditcards. Well, discovercars sent my booking to Sixt to fix the issue, no creditcard problems. 10 min and I was on my way
