Surely car rental companies should make their money from renting cars rather than charging their customers vastly inflated repair bills ?! I've just returned a car to Auto Union @ Preveza airport and was shocked to receive a bill of over 300 euros for a small scratch left by a brush with a bush on one of Lefkadas more interesting roads. It was clear when i rented the car that such encounters had been fairly common in the car's short life, and that someone had attempted to repair these with what looked like Tippex. When i last checked Tippex (a white correctional fluid used mostly by students writing essays - in case people haven't heard of it) retailed at around 1.50 euros a pot, so Auto Union have just made nearly 300 euros in profit ! I think its highly unlikely that i'll use these guys again, but if i do i'll remember to take my own Tippex with me !!
