Great teachers!
Kathrin has been an amazing teacher for the last year... Very friendly and engaging with the children and able to lead the lesson so that all the children get to improve and have a good time.
Water Babies receives consistently positive reviews. Customers particularly appreciate professional and service, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.

The swim instructors are fantastic, we had 2 in our time with water babies. From our first lesson when my little one was 6 weeks old to my last session when she was 8 months old. They were kind, helpful & most of all kept us safe in the water whilst having fun and bonding with our babies. It definitely helped my confidence & my little one has always loved the water & isn't scared at all. The only reason for 1 star short of 5 was the venue, because it is a private school it wasn't catered for the usual public swimming. So the changing facilities weren't set up with cubicles, showers, changing tables for babies etc. However, it was very local for us, so we were happy to compromise on this. We could have had lessons further afield with a more formal changing facility but this wasn't practical for us to travel.
Toria the waterbabies instructor at jethen house is absolutely amazing!! She goes above and beyond to make parents and children feel comfortable, supported and heard. Nothing is too much trouble and any concerns you have regarding swimming with your little one is always taken into consideration and the support you didnt even know you needed is alway's given to make you feel confident and ready to swim with you baby. You can really tell the passion she has for waterbabies not only as an instructor but also as a parent who has been through it twice. Im so so glad I chose waterbabies and im so so glad we were put into Torias class.
Lessons are progressive and so much fun for me and my daughter. We have been attending since she was 12 weeks old and have no intentions to stop. The confidence gained in just 14 weeks is incredible. Lessons do tend to run late meaning we start later than expected, and this obviously will happen when dealing with children! but I have noticed that our session is occasionally cut five minutes short which is disappointing considering each session is over £20 for half hour.

The classes are amazing. but i am getting a lot of annoying brocken mails from this website. i accessed their website hoping i could turn of the emails myself. when i update my profile it just show a loading wheel and nothing happened. the pages where too slow and when i accessed the payment page it wasn't loading anything. i didn't faced any of these when i logged in last week. how annoying...

My baby was injured due to the inadequate facilities for parents and babies. There is no private space for parents to change and there are no toilet facilities for parents with babies at the location I attended. I believe the provision is not compatible with the Equalities Act 2010. I queried this with Water Babies and was told to put my baby on a wet dirty floor and to change a tampon in a public area. I can’t believe my family have been subjected to such horrendous, discriminatory and damaging treatment in 2022. I’m appalled. *edited based on farcical reply below: I am already dealing with the Managing Director of Water Babies South East London. It is her that is making discriminating comments about me, so why would emailing the complaints@ email address make a difference?

Terrible experience and worst customer service. Couple of sessions got cancelled last minute and in general most of the time the water has been quite cold anyway, quite poor standards. They are just focused on making money and once your term is about to finish they will just charge you for the next term, so watch out, avoid if you can.

Have just started chapter 2 with my little girl. It’s been a wonderful experience so far. When booking on the ladies in the office were so lovely and helpful. The pool which we go to in North London is lovely and warm and my little girl has gained so much confidence in the water and enjoys the lessons especially the songs very much. Our teacher’s Kirsty and now Natalie are wonderful! I would definitely recommend water babies lessons to all of my family and friends.

Currently on my second term of swimming lessons with my 6m old in Bubwith and gutted to not be doing a third due to returning to work! Me and my baby look forward to our weekly session with Amelia, a great instructor who interacts with both the babies and parents and makes the sessions fun. The sessions sound like they are too short at only 30mins each but it's the right amount of time for the babies. The skills being taught are so important and are introduced to the babies in a gradual way making sure they're happy and confident. Knocked off one star as it is a bit pricey.

Whirl wind experience. Booking on, lovely lady and easy process. First session, warm pool, nice instructor. Dunking was done at the end of the session. My baby was upset so agreed not to do. The other babies were fine though some cough and spluttering. Second session, 4-5 dunking in this session. My baby is not up for dunking yet at all so sat out on those activities. Basically sat in a pool with my baby for £17. Granted the entering and exiting the pool safety is good and other activities like Humpty Dumpty is good. Felt very excluded though when it came to dunking. Mould around the pool and wonky tiles. Changing facilities tiny, can’t accommodate 8 babies and mums. I had to go in the sun bed room which was covered in dirt and hairs. Just rank. Cancelled today due to disgusted with facilities to be honest and too much dunking. You can do this before the 3rd session if read the policy, for those mums worried about getting out of it. Though the hefty £50 admin fee is a shocker. I have asked for a breakdown of this fee to understand better. Overall, will not use again. 2 star just because instructor was pleasant. I have emailed complaints so awaiting their reply. *** had a reply. Very confrontational stating I had taken away sessions from others and that my “comments” were upsetting. It’s what you get for giving feedback as to why I’ve cancelled the rest of the term and got a small refund. Poor facilities at jury’s inn EMA for babies and adults, too much dunking, and no help if baby doesn’t fall into place. The replies to the negative comments are always apologising that we feel that way but not that the facilities are shocking and the sessions are non inclusive to all types of children. They’re not sorry for any of it. DO NOT USE. Also for the mums out there who are disheartened that baby is upset in these sessions. My daughter is 18 months now and LOVES swimming. We’ve done French swimming pools, the sea, leisure centre pools, Center parcs pools. It’s not your baby, it’s the sessions being rushed and forced.

The reviews speak for themselves. Had an awful experience with water babies money was taken from my account and first 4 lessons back to back cancelled and next lot of money taken out without having had a lesson. The pool was filthy with no changing facilities and classes with 8 or 9 of us. This meant certain activities that required supervision you are just standing around waiting not doing anything in a smaller class the wait time would be less not fair! The previous class always over ran and ours cut short so you didn’t even get the full 30 mins lesson. There is no consistency with the standard offered someone I know ended up in someone’s house with a lovely clean pool great facilities and only a class of 3!!!! How you can justify charging such a ridiculous amount compared to other companies and leisure centres I don’t know.

Shocking experience dealing with this company - I booked my 2 year old on classes a day before the start of the first class when they called me to say they had a spot for him and said I still needed to pay for the first class despite having been given less than 24 hours notice. I agreed knowing I wouldn’t make the first class and agreed to pay for the full course of classes including the first one I wasn’t going to attend. They told me they had over 40 people on the waiting list. Unfortunately my 7 month old was then admitted to GOSH with kidney problems and I didn’t know how many, if any, classes we would make so I tried to cancel. Water babies said there would be a £30 cancellation fee. Fee for what? They could easily give away the spot and I accepted I had to pay for that first class even though we didn’t make it. When I explained my 7 month old was sick in GOSH they asked for proof!! They said I could be making it up!! What parent would make up such a disgusting lie about their child?! I had to send them a picture of my son’s sign on his room door. I should have sent them a picture of my son with tubes coming out of his body lying helpless in bed but I wanted to protect his dignity. They then refunded me. Such disgusting and unprofessional treatment at a time I was feeling very anxious and worried with my sick baby. Will not be booking with them again.

Unfortunately the downsides largely outway the positives here. Negatives first - It’s too expensive for what it is. If your child is never ill and you don’t go on holiday during the 10 week stint it’ll set you back £17 per lesson, for 30 minutes! Sometimes groups were as big as 8 and as lessons are sandwiched one after another so it feels like a sausage factory. There is no social time with other parents and kids or chance to warm your baby up to the things, just straight into things. Furthermore, you either have to get you and your baby ready in the car park or at the side of the pool in front of everyone else and the class in progress. It’s only after the class that you can use the changing facilities however these are not remotely suited to changing babies - there are low down narrow benches and not even a bin to put nappies in! The final straw of the whole experience was when I was automatically charged for another batch of lessons at the end of our current term. This recurrent billing was not pointed out to me when I handed over my card details although is found in the ts & cs, that of course everyone reads. Positives - My baby and I did enjoy the lessons. They were dynamic and appropriate for the age and the instructor was lovely. I like the idea of these lessons as they’re fun but I’d never use waterbabies again, they’re just a money making operation. Update: I got in touch after their reply to « make things right », no reply. Just corporate bs!

Was really excited to take my little one to swimming lessons, of which we enjoyed however on the whole I found the company to have the poorest customer service and somewhat obnoxious. The opt out system for booking on the next course is appalling and this seems to be a common theme amongst reviews!! They lied stating it was as also on their social media. They took the full amount for the next course and refused to provide a full refund of my money. This is unacceptable for a mother on maternity pay. It seems that they have a strong ethos on money and not focused on new families and their needs. A few mothers commented in changing rooms that they have had to provide medical evidence (covid related) to change to another class as they were unable to attend. Shocking!! The company don’t seems to care much for the needs of new families and babies, others in the group are only staying on as they missed the opt out email. They really need to adjust this policy and stop taking people’s money is totally unacceptable.
