Great teachers!
Kathrin has been an amazing teacher for the last year... Very friendly and engaging with the children and able to lead the lesson so that all the children get to improve and have a good time.
Water Babies receives consistently positive reviews. Customers particularly appreciate professional and service, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.

The swim instructors are fantastic, we had 2 in our time with water babies. From our first lesson when my little one was 6 weeks old to my last session when she was 8 months old. They were kind, helpful & most of all kept us safe in the water whilst having fun and bonding with our babies. It definitely helped my confidence & my little one has always loved the water & isn't scared at all. The only reason for 1 star short of 5 was the venue, because it is a private school it wasn't catered for the usual public swimming. So the changing facilities weren't set up with cubicles, showers, changing tables for babies etc. However, it was very local for us, so we were happy to compromise on this. We could have had lessons further afield with a more formal changing facility but this wasn't practical for us to travel.
Toria the waterbabies instructor at jethen house is absolutely amazing!! She goes above and beyond to make parents and children feel comfortable, supported and heard. Nothing is too much trouble and any concerns you have regarding swimming with your little one is always taken into consideration and the support you didnt even know you needed is alway's given to make you feel confident and ready to swim with you baby. You can really tell the passion she has for waterbabies not only as an instructor but also as a parent who has been through it twice. Im so so glad I chose waterbabies and im so so glad we were put into Torias class.
Lessons are progressive and so much fun for me and my daughter. We have been attending since she was 12 weeks old and have no intentions to stop. The confidence gained in just 14 weeks is incredible. Lessons do tend to run late meaning we start later than expected, and this obviously will happen when dealing with children! but I have noticed that our session is occasionally cut five minutes short which is disappointing considering each session is over £20 for half hour.

1 star is too generous. Shame I can’t give 0. 1) rushed lessons - absolute conveyer belt of madness. This results in the next class waiting around during your ongoing (and already extortionate) lesson and making loads of noise (thus disturbing the lesson) 2) the swimmer is only allowed to change the child in the changing rooms - find me a toddler that’ll stand still for more than 3 seconds I dare you. We were reminded of this policy after 12 weeks of lessons, wherein it hadn’t been a problem before. This resulted in some parents changing their child in the toilets rather than the changing rooms. If I’m paying for swimming facilities I fully expect to be able to use those facilities. 2.5) no family changing rooms. 3) Photoshoot rescheduled at a location nowhere near our lessons. We were still charged.

Can only echo previous poor reviews. It's like a conveyer belt of mayhem. Very rushed lessons in a short space of time. Biggest gripe was I took up lessons to get my daughter the underwater photoshoot which I was told would be in November. This came and went with no notification. Was informed that it was probably due to my daughter not being ready (but again this wasn't translated) and I'll have to wait another 4 months x £66 for the next one.

Absolute rip off of a company, they make you pay up front for a months lessons then have a “4 week notice period” if you want to cancel. They take money out of your account using the card details you gave for the first month, not a direct debit as stated. The lessons were fine but very short and the instructor wasn’t particularly loud or clear. Waste of time and money really.

Although, my son and I thoroughly enjoyed the first session, however I am paying £18 for half an hour with a group of 10 children!!! I don’t see the difference in going to a council pool. For £18 you’d expect 1:1 or a less than 5 children. Not sure how my son is expected to learn and catch up with other swimmers who have been there from the start. My son ended up falling really ill so I rang the day before the session to inform them he cannot make it as he’s fallen ill and if they can provide a catch up session for him. Was told he cannot have a session. That’s £18 down the drain!!!! I was even more shocked to find out that if the weather is bad and the session is cancelled by the instructor, there will be no catch up session!!! For £18 you’d expect a lot more. I will be cancelling further sessions with them due to the ridiculous amount of money they charge per session and a session that has a huge group! I’ve found a cheaper swimming company that charges £10 per session and only has a maximum of 4 children!

I really enjoyed Water babies and the lessons they provided. The instructor was great. However, my little boy got bronchiolitis and couldn’t attend one of his lessons (advised by his gp). Even though I gave notice that he wouldn’t be able to attend his lesson they refused to provide me with a refund or a make up session. As I had already paid for the month that means I paid for a service they didn’t provide to me. Extremely disappointed with their response to this and because of this I stopped our lessons. Will be looking for another company that is way more accommodating for sickness (something that is completely out of my control).

Jackie from the Holloway classes is a really great teacher, and my baby now thinks nothing of going underwater! She's come on leaps and bounds in terms of confidence. Each class is about repetition whilst gently introducing a new skill- perfect for babies. Caron in the office has also been very speedy with her replies back to me.

Extortionate (£16 for 30 min lesson) - unhelpful customer service. My daughter was unable to attend her penultimate swimming session, as she had a respiratory infection. I informed the customer service team and was advised that we could book a catch up session, when she was well again. The following week, I rang up to book her catch up session. I was first lied to and told that I couldn’t book a catch up session later than a week after the missed session. The contract says catch up sessions can be taken up until 30 days after the missed session. The lady then told me that she couldn’t book us in any later, as it would be after our last session and we would no longer be on the system the following week. There was nothing in the contract that states this and I am sure there would have been a way to do this and I’ve been completely fobbed off. Disappointed to say the least.

AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!!! Now I knew it was expensive, but firstly lessons were basic and rushed! £17 for half an hour is daylight robbery but my sister took my nephew and he enjoyed so I did the same, booked a block of 10 lessons while on maternity. However, they deducted money from my account once my lessons came to an end, without my permission - for classes in September which I wasn’t going to book as I was returning to work in the October. As they had already deducted the money I thought I may as well attend in September anyway. My son was very poorly with recurring chest infections, croup and tonsillitis for the whole of September, so we didn’t make any of the classes. I knew we wouldn’t be refunded (even though I hadn’t originally agreed to these lessons anyway). However I was getting frequent messages to set up a direct debit for monthly payments as their booking process had changed. I emailed them to say I won’t be attending anymore classes so I won’t be setting up a direct debit. They took further money from my account as there’s a month notice! I was not even aware of this monthly notice so fair to say I wasn’t happy. Apparently I signed the terms and conditions when logging onto my sons portal at the end of August (I logged on because they emailed me to say a portal was created) The person who I spoke to was most unhelpful, rude and made it quite clear they only want your money. I was going to respond that if I signed the terms and conditions in august (which I had to do to access the portal that was created without my knowledge for my son) that doesn’t explain why I also had money deducted in July as I had not signed or booked anything at that point. Iv paid for all these lessons and not attended since June!!!! dreadful company, over priced, money grabbers, and a very average swimming experience! Please avoid. Also water babies do not reply to say I am to contact you - as I have contacted you and you were most unhelpful!!!!

Really disappointed with our experience. We’ve now had more lessons cancelled than lessons we’ve actually attended. For something that’s so expensive and demands to be paid up front I do not expect my lessons cancelled less than 24 hours before almost every single week. We’ve learned absolutely nothing as every time we come it’s like coming for the first time all over again because it’s been so long. It will now be 3 weeks since our last session. I’ve given my 4 weeks notice and cancelled any future lessons, we will be attending somewhere A LOT cheaper and hopefully more reliable. AVOID

Honestly shocking!! You pay a ton of money for your child to be dunked and forced to do activities against his will, not to mention that the instructors rush the lessons and treat you poorly. Our instructor at thorns in kenilworth straight up told me that my son is bad at swimming because he speaks another language … he is completely bilingual with English being his dominant language!! Please check out turtle tots! My son loves swimming now and he can’t wait to get to his lessons with Mellisa!
