Great teachers!
Kathrin has been an amazing teacher for the last year... Very friendly and engaging with the children and able to lead the lesson so that all the children get to improve and have a good time.
Water Babies receives consistently positive reviews. Customers particularly appreciate professional and service, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.

The swim instructors are fantastic, we had 2 in our time with water babies. From our first lesson when my little one was 6 weeks old to my last session when she was 8 months old. They were kind, helpful & most of all kept us safe in the water whilst having fun and bonding with our babies. It definitely helped my confidence & my little one has always loved the water & isn't scared at all. The only reason for 1 star short of 5 was the venue, because it is a private school it wasn't catered for the usual public swimming. So the changing facilities weren't set up with cubicles, showers, changing tables for babies etc. However, it was very local for us, so we were happy to compromise on this. We could have had lessons further afield with a more formal changing facility but this wasn't practical for us to travel.
Toria the waterbabies instructor at jethen house is absolutely amazing!! She goes above and beyond to make parents and children feel comfortable, supported and heard. Nothing is too much trouble and any concerns you have regarding swimming with your little one is always taken into consideration and the support you didnt even know you needed is alway's given to make you feel confident and ready to swim with you baby. You can really tell the passion she has for waterbabies not only as an instructor but also as a parent who has been through it twice. Im so so glad I chose waterbabies and im so so glad we were put into Torias class.
Lessons are progressive and so much fun for me and my daughter. We have been attending since she was 12 weeks old and have no intentions to stop. The confidence gained in just 14 weeks is incredible. Lessons do tend to run late meaning we start later than expected, and this obviously will happen when dealing with children! but I have noticed that our session is occasionally cut five minutes short which is disappointing considering each session is over £20 for half hour.

I must say I’m quite surprised by the negative reviews here. I just had an amazing experience with the customer service where I had to cancel classes due to my baby getting her BCG vaccine. We can’t swim until the scar is healed (at least 6-10weeks) and as soon as we informed the company they cancelled the direct debit and surprisingly refunded us for the remaining classes. We will be going back for sure. :)

I second this person Céline Yasmine's review. I have been offered a replacement class at a place 20 miles away from my place, I chose that but then when we went, apparently it was babies only class and no class available for us. Their CC is misinformed as a result we paid with our 40 miles fuel, 2.5 hours of our time. This has pissed me off, this surely need ombudsmen's attention, the way they are loosely managing their services. 12/03/23-1700hours : Hi Waterbabies CustomerCare, I have already raised a concern about this to underthewaves [at] waterbabies.co.uk - Let me save you sometime by updating you about it so you don't have to give me a standard reply by asking me to email & report.

Money grabbing, incompetent. I am unable to attend any of the classes in March and they still took my payment and are refusing to refund me. This is unacceptable, I have reported them to Consumer Rights for their failed and unfair service. AVOID at ALL cost

I've had an amazing experience with Waterbabies and are disappointed that they do not continue lessons after the age of 5. My daughter started with Waterbabies at roughly 6 months old and had enjoyed every minute of her lessons. The skills gained are phenomenal and now putting her into mainstream swimming has put her back a few steps and has hindered her progression. I absolutely love waterbabies as my daughter had the best experience and if I have a second child they will definitely be joining waterbabies. They have such phenomenal teachers and im grateful my daughter had such an amazing swimming start to her swimming journey!! Couldn't have chosen a better company for early years swimming.

Waterbabies have just cancelled our classes with a week's notice and with no other options to continue. We were offered to move to a class already at capacity with children who were much younger with a lower ability. After 5 years of loyalty with the company I am extremely disappointed in their treatment of us.

I feel I need to leave a review as I'm surprised by the amount of negativity! I started water babies with my son when he was 9 weeks old, we have just cancelled after over a year as I'm pregnant. We've always enjoyed our lessons, the class sizes have been small (4 max) and the teacher lovely. My son is noticeably better in a pool than his baby friends around him, it has given him so much confidence. Only reduced a star as I do think it's very expensive for 30min lesson. I look forward to rejoining so my next baby can have the same water babies experience! Oh and just to add, the cancellation process was so easy and I've never had spam emails/calls from them.

A few very disappointing things made us decide to cancel after one class: 1. The venue has no specific facility in the changing rooms to accommodate babies/toddlers, e.g. with only a wooden bench and a few hangers, it's incredibly challenging for the parent to change a baby/toddler. 2. There's no trial class. You pay a full month of classes at signup and as long as you've taken one class, it requires 4 weeks cancellation notice. So you are paying for at least 5 classes no matter what. This feels like a rip-off. 3. The teacher is not very engaging. It feels like they just want to get over it as fast as they can. There were 6 babies in the class and we could barely hear the teacher talking. No singing like other swim classes we've taken at other places. For parents who don't know the teacher's routine, it's very hard to follow what's going on. On the positive side, the customer service was very responsive and effective. They resolved our requests promptly.

Wish I had of read the reviews before joining water babies. My daughter has been poorly for a while now and I called today to discuss my options and I was basically told to cancel the lady I spoke to had no customer service skills at all and was very rude. Too many new babies were joining the class before my daughter got poorly and we didn’t get the full potential of the lesson standing around in a cold pool not acceptable for the price you pay for just a 30 minute lesson. awful awful company very disappointed.

The constant change of instructor goes no way to reassure parents of happy working conditions or terms for those employed. Children build key learning relationships only for them to be emptied upside down term on term when instructors leave. Having been with Water Babies for 3 years, it is a slowly demised into a shell of its former self.

I would give 0 if I could. I signed up for a trial and then changed my mind. Since then I have been bombarded with emails and they have ignored all my emails requesting to unsubscribe me from their list. Definitely in breach of GDPR. Now they have started to text on my private number as well. Reporting them for abusing my data.
