I have travelled with RSD a few times and have never had a bad experience. An excellent way of seeing a country at an affordable price.
Went to Sri Lanka with RSD - fantastic countryside, amazing friendly people, good hotels and an amazing journey around the country in all its guises - one of the best trips of my life (I travel 10 mths a year) - why so good - people, no hassles of any kind going out, low cost economy, wonderful weather - an absolute gem of a holiday full of variety with something for everyone.
We had a wonderful holiday seeing so many UNESCO sites in Kosova, North Macedonia, Montenegro & Albania. Except for the last one, which was a little bit "Soviet era", the hotels were lovely with excellent food, very comfortable indeed. Our Turkish guide Gdoikca went above & beyond to help all passengers on her coach, even rescuing a hearing aid, which had fallen out in Cafe Mozart in Budva, Montenegro & organising for someone to drive it to our hotel at least 2 hours away so we had it before the coach left next morning.

GRAHAM LISTER High Risks and low Customer Service Is this company only interested in making money. There are many reviews documenting the apparent low cost of a trip with RSD, but which escalate quickly when ‘additions’ arise. Whilst we all appreciate good value, it should come with quality and service. However these are sadly lacking with this company. Enough has previously been said about the very average quality and the ‘special packages’ with their associated costs, e.g. tours, meals …visits to carpet, jewellery and leather factories. What is shocking is the lack of concern by the company for the customer. Having booked the 15 night trip to Morocco leaving on the 12th March, we naturally needed to satisfy ourselves regarding health and safety. On the previous day the WHO had declared COVID-19 a World Pandemic; and advice on TV was to contact your travel company. On attempting to do this it was found the RSD desk had not at that time opened (it retained its normal hours). At this point it was 2 hours before check in, so the emergency number was used, despite the note on the company travel information stating ‘last minute cancellation of the trip is NOT an emergency-please direct this matter to us in writing only’ The representative stated the trip was going ahead, despite the Foreign Office’s website stating Morocco had introduced unspecified measures regarding the virus, which had to be complied with. The company could not give any information about the measures, nor confirm if isolation would be introduced on arrival in Morocco. At 9.00a.m. (now only 1 hour from check in) RSD was again contacted and they stated the trip was going ahead and could not be refunded or postponed with vouchers. The representative was very abrupt and unhelpful and stated a cancellation e-mail needed to be sent immediately. At that point we decided not to proceed with the holiday. A difficult but subsequently the right decision. Six days later we are at home watching the chaos at Marrakech airport, where hundreds of people are unable to get flights to the UK. Will we travel with RSD again? NEVER.

Intially, our tour guide Ali was friendly and funny but it became apparent as the time progressed that he was not suited to his role. He basically berated people for asking questions if they didn't understand and was very impatient. Bearing in mind most of the people in our group were elderly or at least middle aged. He told us about previous complaints that customers had had which was very unprofessional and consistently reminded us of how poor Moroccans are. We made the mistake of eating at one of the prearranged restaurants without paying the extra £119 as we thought we could pay at the restaurants separately; he made an example of us on the bus instead of dealing with the issue privately. He did not tell us beforehand about this arrangement. I also made the sinful error of asking at the Meknes tea room if we could pay separately at this specific place just to confirm what he had previously said and he very rudely remarked 'What planet are you from? Mars?!' I stopped speaking to him after this because it was abundantly clear Ali lacked even basic customer service skills. the berber Mohammed should have been the tour guide was it not for his English proficiency. He had all the skills Ali lacks. Train Mohammed and sack Ali. The driver and cleaner were also superb. The second week was more enjoyable although one must be very wary of the taxi drivers being deceitful and getting pressured into buying stuff at Marakesh market. Beware of pick pockets also. I had 300MAD lifted from my pocket and I also got food poisoning. Be on your guard. Finally, this type of holiday is more suited to older travellers with money to spend and tips to endlessly give. On a positive note, the hotels we stopped at were generally good even if the porters at some of the hotels we stopped at were over zealous in their luggage delivery.

Morocco tour Prior to departure I was cynical I would enjoy this trip fully, especially after reading the negative reviews. How glad iam that I kept an open mind as the trip was incredible. We can’t praise our guide Erol and his team highly enough absolutely superb one and all. Erol was so informative about the culture and history of Morocco and delivered it in a engaging and entertaining manner, nothing was to much trouble for him or his team. I saw negative comments on the local packages. But they where mentioned prior to departure and shouldn’t surprise anyone. We took a first week package which was worth every penny spent. It included wonderful lunch’s and great trips to sights of interest, and would have cost far more if vat etc was added. We also took the all inclusive package for the 2nd week. After my wife and I went out one night into Marrakesh for her birthday (arranged again by Erol) it wasn’t a particularly expensive restaurant but when working out how much it would cost to do every night the all inclusive package made sense. We weren’t disappointed the choice of food at our hotel was incredible and catered for all tastes. We flew into Marrakesh on the 5th March as where due to fly out on the 19th. But due to the Covid 19 virus RSD arranged our safe return on the 17th and after reading the bbc news from Morocco it was a wise and timely decision from RSD. My wife and I consider it probably the best trip we have ever done. I was dreading a week on a coach but we had plenty of room and it was Brocken up with well planned and organised breaks. To top it of we made wonderful new friends.yes there are add ons but they where well worth every penny and optional at the end of the day. An incredible country and trip highly recommended

We have travelled with RSD twice: a 15 day tour of Morocco returning last week, & Crete in Nov. 2018. We were very happy with both holidays, & after reading some of the reviews posted I want to share some observations for people reading these sites to decide whether to travel with RSD. Look at the price and what you are getting for the money! In the first week we travelled over 600 miles around Morocco visiting Fez, Meknes, Rabat, Volubilis, Casablanca and Marrakesh. We had an excellent driver, guide and support crew. The tour was planned to factor in comfort stops, and select some key aspects of the different places which showed the variety of Morocco. We saw souks, villages, palaces, gates, walls, mausoleums, mosques, mountain ranges, changing country side, and the Atlantic coast. Trees and plants were beginning to bloom. The sun shone. Storks were even obligingly nesting in minarets and telecommunications posts for us. We drank mint tea in a family riad, and walked through a variety of shop-sellers and gardens. That alone would have cost much more with other companies than the £900 that we paid RSD for two, and that included dinners in the first week. Not our first visit to Morocco, this went to many cities we had not yet visited. To see places in greater detail, you need to spend more time in them. A tour must select, and if you like the place and want to see more, you can come back for a short city break, your confidence already boosted by what you have learnt on this tour. The last days in Marrakesh included an orientation of the city: there were seven more days afterwards in which people could get on that shuttle bus, go back in to the centre, & explore a variety of the superb palaces, museums & souks that makes this such a brilliant place. The hotels were more than adequate for each night: sheets clean and food OK. In the second week, although the hotel was not what we would have chosen for ourselves, it was presented as 'a gift' and as such, I say 'thank you very much'. An extra week in the sun instead of rainy & cold UK was very much appreciated, and we combined days of reading on the generous supply of sunbeds in beautifully manicured gardens, with trips into the city to revisit what we knew we wanted to see. Although the visits to co-operatives for carpets, leather, jewellery & argan oil may seem intrusive to some passengers, I appreciate that such arrangements are probably a significant factor in keeping the cost down. With a house already full of beautiful carpets from Turkey, Morocco, and India we have never experienced a problem in saying this and moving to the coffee shop at the end. I understand that the salesmen are pressured by their management to sell, but they do accept 'no' if you mean it. And for those people who like something and buy it, you have a quality item to take home and love wearing or walking on with the additional pleasure of memories of the country that it came from. Manage your expectations, readers. If you choose to go on a group tour you accept that you have less control over the when/ where / what you see. RSD send details of extras you can buy into for the full experience, and if you want the simpler life of just wandering along to buffet meals in the evenings, if you enjoy lunches as well, the various packages make this happen. We didn't have these extras in the second week, but the people on our tour who did said that the food was very good. Tipping is a way of life in many countries- certainly in Morocco where one learns to hoard single dirhams for the loo. Finally I would like to reflect on the significance of the guide. A good one can enhance your enjoyment of the trip and understanding of the country immeasurably; at the very least they should make everyone feel safe and ensure the tour runs smoothly. We were very lucky in Morocco. RSD if you are reading this, make sure that you value Suat, Abdul, Hassan, and Mustapha : they are first class.

I recently returned from a cultural tour of Croatia, Bosnia Herzegovina and Montenegro. What a magical week we had. We were greeted by our Tour guide at the airport, who was just wonderful and not only took care of all our needs but shared the most amazing amount of information throughout our whole trip. Perfect English and wonderful sense of humour, he helped to create a tremendous atmosphere on our bus 67 and many friendship were formed that will be long lasting. Thank you Semih. The hotels were all excellent, with perhaps one exception, Wojtila in Medjugorje where the food was of extremely low standard and the coffee in the morning utterly undrinkable. The only good thing about staying in Medjugorje was the trip to Mostar, absolutely beautiful and very moving, seeing the evidence of that very sad war, those who did not sign up for the extra trips at a very reasonable cost, certainly missed out on one of the highlights of the whole week, together with the boat trip to Our Lady of The Rocks in Montenegro, both very memorable. This was my first trip with RSD and would certainly go on another. Just a couple of things as a new comer I would liked to have known....the flight did not come up on Manchester's departures which panicked me a bit as I had a long journey to Manchester, apparently its because its a chartered flight, and once on it all was perfect...the 2nd piece of advice I would give...take euros....I wish I had known...they are accepted in all 3 countries also the tour guide needed paying in cash for the explorer package, thankfully he was happy to wait til we got to Montenegro when I could at last get euro. Apart from that, yes the carpet, jewellery and leather visits were uncomfortably pressured but a small price to pay for a magical week. Couldn't recommend it more highly

We have just returned from our 15 day trip to Morocco with RSD. We had read numerous reviews before we went and were worried as to whether we had made a mistake. We needn't have, it was very good indeed. We had excellent hotels for the first week and then moved to Aqua Mirage,Marrakech for our second. The food at all the hotels was very good and really excellent at the Aqua Mirage. The sights in the first week were all interesting although we did find the days long and tiring. We did have to visit carpet, jewelry and leather factories which was tiresome as the prices charged for items was outrageous but you just had to say NO. I honestly don't understand while some reviewers were so negative. Our group was absolutely lovely and we all bonded to make a wonderful holiday. Thank you RSD.

Very poor customer service. There is no point making phone calls to their ' customer service ' team as all you will get is scripted responses and repeated nonsense about data protection , the fact you are being recorded etc etc. The tour itself ( croatia , montenegro ) is loaded with commision stops at out of the way food venues and shops and some of the days are way too long with 7 or 8 AM starts and an uncomfortable seat in a very old bus with no toilet , wifi , charging facilities for your phone etc. As the majority of the clientele are ancient maybe they think this doesnt matter but they will discover that as that generation dies off so will low grade coach tours like this. Avoid

While most of the trip went well and was enjoyable, the forced stop off at the Bufavento Jewellery completely clouded the holiday and cost us financially. This is a shame because otherwise the holiday and interaction with people on the trip was generally fine. There were some grumbles about the hotels and food but this did not bother us much. Bufavento engages in high pressure selling and if you are naïve about the real value of jewellery they will take you to the cleaners. Unfortunately, in our case RSD travel arranged the visit to the carpet warehouse and Jewellers when moving between hotels so it was not possible to avoid the experience. As will be seen repeated in other reviews, Bufavento oblige you to listen to an introductory talk after which you are taken into the sales room and immediately pounced upon by their salesmen and saleswomen and make it very hard to leave the room. The jewellery is very nice and probably good quality and the initial price may seem absurdly high. They will halve it and make it sound reasonable but it is only after you return home and obtain a valuation that you realise that you have been well and truly duped! To be fair the traders at the carpet and leather shops were less pushy in comparison to that at the Jewellers and that experience was much more acceptable.. So be warned!

Returned from Croatia Bosnia Herzegovina and Montenegro on Sunday. One week of sightseeing. Erhan, our guide was great, the driver was safe and steady, the hotels were amazing. Our 4th trip with RSD. Can't recommend them enough. Already booked again for Crete 😁. Well done RSD
