Review summary
Mint Mobile has mixed reviews from customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and reliable, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.
The phone plan for Mint has been great.
But then i decided to buy a new phone with them.
How dare I do that! Worst company ever.
The phone never even made it to me and i was charged $500. I never got the phone and they refused any support at all. Confirmed delivered by Fedex to H.H.H. THAT IS NOT MY NAME. it was clearly stolen.
I purchased insurance but i never even got the phone to activate it.
Im tired of getting danced around.
I want my money back.
I have wasted an hour in Europe trying to get WiFi calling to work. It has worked on and off and now Mint doesn't even recognize my number. I renewed (annual) on the condition they make the feature work from Europe and they promised. Now I've been on the phone twice, wasting 40 min on two diff calls with two reps, promising they would fix it. f Mint and they'd get a MINUS 1 if that were an option
There should be 2 separate reviews ,one for the service which seems good so far and the second for customer service website and app which totally SUCKS! Been trying all day to log in and it won't recognize either of my mint numbers so I have. O access to my accounts. Customer service is clueless. Spent hrs on the phone with them . They can't help. So now I'm stuck with no account access and no way to change payment method since I do not give payment information over the phone verbally
I just want to say, THE QUALITY OF MINT IS TERRIBLE FOR ME. I live in north Seattle, and I pay for the premium mint plan, and I'm only able to make calls and use data for about six hours per 24 day. During business hours, I rarely am even able to make a call l. Maybe there's something unique about my situation, but my advice is don't use mint if you live in Seattle and need a reliabke network.
No service, 4 hours on phone, and no refund after one day of signing on!
Immediately after I renewed service for myself and two kids for an entire year, my data service stopped working. I attempted to contact Mint Mobile that same day but was told customer service wasn’t available and to call back during regular business hours. So I called Mint Mobile the next day and was placed on a long hold and then spoke to a service rep who was unable to help me get my data back. I called Mint Mobile back and was placed another long hold and spoke to a different service rep who was also unable to help me get my data back. I called Mint Mobile a third time and was placed on another long hold. When the service rep answered, I explained my situation for a third time, and then our line was disconnected. I contacted Mint Mobile a fourth time, this time via their chat customer service on my computer and spent another hour and a half trying to get help. They said they could not restore my data, and my case would be escalated to a higher up tech team and would be addressed in approximately two days. Because I was traveling and needed working data for GPS, work, and safety, I had no choice but to switch our family to T-Mobile the same day. When I called back later on in the afternoon requesting a refund of all charges, Mint would only refund me for one of the lines because two of the other lines that had renewed showed some data usage in the last 24 hours, including my own which had used some data to call THEM that morning when I was driving. They were uncooperative and would not process a refund. I paid for 12 months of service for me and my kids and received less than a day of intermittent service. Mint Mobile acknowledged the issue and admitted they couldn’t resolve it within a reasonable timeframe but still kept my money. I spent nearly 4 hours trying to resolve this, and ended up with nothing. I'm filing a dispute with my credit card company to get the funds back (they haven't even processed them yet). Oh, and they actually charged my credit card for FOUR lines when I only had three. So there's that as well...
I’m going on 4 days without service. I haven’t had service since 6/13/25. No calls, no texts, no internet. They keep telling me there is an outage and that they will have it resolved in 24 hrs. They’ve been saying this the past 4 days. I have been trying to set up a few personal accounts but I can’t complete the process because it requires a text to my phone with a code that I need to log in. Service interruption is a common experience with Mint, and every time I call they never have an answer and say there is an outage. This is the standard lie customer support gives to customers. Do not sign up with Mint. Pay a few extra bucks and get reliable sevice with another provider.
The WORST company to deal with , poor customer service that doesn’t listen to you , a call @ 10 pm to transfer / activate the wrong line , lying saying they’ll call you back & never do , only to have to call again & explain everything again
Wouldn’t have them if there service was free , demanded my money back
Ordered a phone last Tuesday June 10th and received an email with a confirmation number and that it can take up to 48 hours to process which is weird because it showed 3 day shipping when I agreed and they charged me $1,600.00. Tomorrow will be a full week since placing the order and I still have not received an email that anything is happening. Finally got to a real person at Mint and they said to wait until tomorrow because it shows it is still processing. They want me to call back so they can refund the money so I can order again. Ha. Won't order from Mint again. This company seems to be a bunch of BS. They take your money and that is it. Never send a phone or do anything else. Their chat bot is also pointless and does nothing. DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU EVER WANT TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE WORLD. It's the GREEN LANTERN of the wireless world.
They never shipped my phone and started a refund so who knows how long that will take. I have not had a phone for over a week now because of this BS and now I need to start the entire process all over again with another company. I'm confused how they offer products for sale and then just waste the customers time for a week and issue a refund. This company is headed for collapse. It might be more money with another company but at least they will actually follow through with the sale. Very disappointed and their customer support bot is worthless and you have to navigate a maze on the phone and get transferred multiple times to get to a real person that is unable to do anything. Betting this company will fold shortly. BUYER BEWARE!
They lose 2 stars for misleading advertising. Ok, so yes you CAN get your phone service for $15 per month...but only if you only need 5 GB data and are willing to pay for an entire year IN ADVANCE!!! I've had the 3 month plan that's now expiring, I'm considering options.
The service itself is good enough most of the time, but can drop to no bars or just one bar when far outside the cities.
So needed to talk with a Cust. Svc. representative to transfer to my service. The Rep. talked very rapidly and was not overly patient. However, she eventually and successfully ported my phone out of AT&T Carrier service.
I was left to install an eSIM via a QR Code to my phone to initiate the Mint Mobile service. I quickly find my iPhone 14 is "not compatible" with their eSIM. I now have an iPhone that can't make phone calls (i.e. hockey puck).
On my laptop I IM-ed with Mint Fox (their "help service") and after providing basic information come to discover the phone is locked. Despite my request they could not restore my AT&T Service or any service to make calls. They suggested using someone else's phone to call. Living alone with no landline... I am not pleased with their lack of a solution. Worse yet I need to now go to AT&T unable to call anyone for help -- let alone get help if I have an emergency in the meantime!
I complained on the IM that, "their process is not very good." After a long pause (multiple flashing elipses) they repeated the same solution to use a friend or family member's phone or to go an AT&T store. Frustrated but hoping they could correct their system I suggested, "shouldn't part of the process include asking me if my phone is locked before Porting the phone from my existing service, yes?" After a moderate pause. They said "Yes, and" something else but immediately deleted the chat before I could read the rest -- So rude!
Feels like this has been rolled out without testing or debugging and the customer is left to be a Guinea pig to find errors and when helpful suggestions are made to improve things for the next person it is ignored.
I would give it 0 stars if I could. I paid up front for 3 months. Every single day the service connection disconnected my phone. I missed important calls from clients many times. I had to, at a minimum, reset my phone everyday, sometimes numerous times a day. I was on with support more times than I can count. I was disconnected pretty much every time I called support and had to call back and start over because their call service reps cannot call out. I started to only deal with supervisors for that reason. I had the sim card replaced twice, that didn't work either. On about 90% of the calls over the 3 months, I was told there was an outage in my area. I traveled during these 3 months to 3 different states and had the same problem daily wherever I was. On 3 different calls with supervisors, they all had me jump through the same steps I'd already been through, with maybe one new approach. Then they would promise me profusely that they would call me back to make sure the issue was fixed. They would set a time and day and we would discuss time zones so we both knew when the call would be made. No one ever called me back. Ever. One of them promised to call me every 24 hours for 3 days to assure that the issue was fixed. Never called. I was offered a credit. Never received it. I was offered a discounted rate for future months for my troubles. I replied: In 3 months you haven't fixed the issue, for 3 months Mint Mobile has told me there was an outage in my area. So in 3 months Mint mobile couldn't fix an outage or my issue and you want me to keep using Mint? They are awful. I would NEVER recommend this company unless I really didn't like somebody and wanted to risk putting them through hell.
Not full disclosure during initial sign up. Be careful!
The original sign up was lacking in some important information. When I called Customer service to discuss the issue I was insulted by not getting answers but instead made to feel it was my fault. Then for toppers I asked for their supervisor THREE TIMES before she finally got someone who in turn told me they could not help me.
I have had Mint for 1.5 yrs and up until recently it was great. I have been having issues making and receiving calls during busy times. I live in a smaller city near Houston. Tonight I called to talk to a live agent. It was totally frustrating. She spoke decent English but had zero comprehension of the English language. If she did not correct my issue I will be leaving Mint mobile.
