Review summary
Mint Mobile has mixed reviews from customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and reliable, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.
The phone plan for Mint has been great.
But then i decided to buy a new phone with them.
How dare I do that! Worst company ever.
The phone never even made it to me and i was charged $500. I never got the phone and they refused any support at all. Confirmed delivered by Fedex to H.H.H. THAT IS NOT MY NAME. it was clearly stolen.
I purchased insurance but i never even got the phone to activate it.
Im tired of getting danced around.
I want my money back.
I have wasted an hour in Europe trying to get WiFi calling to work. It has worked on and off and now Mint doesn't even recognize my number. I renewed (annual) on the condition they make the feature work from Europe and they promised. Now I've been on the phone twice, wasting 40 min on two diff calls with two reps, promising they would fix it. f Mint and they'd get a MINUS 1 if that were an option
There should be 2 separate reviews ,one for the service which seems good so far and the second for customer service website and app which totally SUCKS! Been trying all day to log in and it won't recognize either of my mint numbers so I have. O access to my accounts. Customer service is clueless. Spent hrs on the phone with them . They can't help. So now I'm stuck with no account access and no way to change payment method since I do not give payment information over the phone verbally
I just want to say, THE QUALITY OF MINT IS TERRIBLE FOR ME. I live in north Seattle, and I pay for the premium mint plan, and I'm only able to make calls and use data for about six hours per 24 day. During business hours, I rarely am even able to make a call l. Maybe there's something unique about my situation, but my advice is don't use mint if you live in Seattle and need a reliabke network.
What's the point if I never get my phone?
They partner with Fedex and then when Fedex fails to delivery the phone, had to spend time with both Fedex and Mint Mobile for find that they basically refused to help me get it, because all options wasted more of my money. And they blamed each other. Way to hold up responsibility for your own partnership. Honestly, absolutely ruined multiple days and only have regret for trusting this company.
Reply to reply: What an absolutely worthless response. I have already done that. Save your auto response, it reeks of insincerity.
I have had several lines with Mint Mobile. They are very inexpensive. Service in my area (central Utah- Wasatch Front) has been excellent. Data speeds are comparable to other plans. I like that I can manage my account and my kids accounts in the same place on the app.
And, I just want to say their customer service is AWESOME. I don't love the chat bot, and I wish when I call it was easier to know what to press to speak to a person. But, I just press "technical issue" (4) and then account issue (1) and that always gets me to a friendly and helpful person with a mild accent who has excellent communication skills. They always say back to me what they understood that I need to make sure they got it right, which is very reassuring. And 99% of the time they can get it resolved within the call without me having to take any additional steps.
I recently messed up & bought a new line without realizing they had a WAY better promotion going on. They let me get a refund on the one I bought, and purchase another one with the promotion. It only took a few minutes and was super easy.
The service itself in terms of coverage was pretty good.
Customer service team when you call are very polite and helpful.
The reason I am rating low is that I have moved to the US from the U.K. and signed up to Mint mobile and didnβt appreciate that I would receive a recycled phone number (which other providers allow you to avoid). I am plagued with silent phone calls and automated telemarketing from the moment I installed the sim. Signed up to do not call register but this has not made a lot of difference.
The reason for there lower score is that Mint Mobile would not allow me to cancel the contract or refund me (as I repaid for 12 months). The issues with the recycled number means that I can bet using the service but I am stuck with paying for something that is pretty much unusable.
I would suggest for anyone signing up to consider if they are happy to get a recycled number, if not, go elsewhere where they can possibly avoid this.
Edit : thanks for the stock reply but I have contacted customer service already, on more than one occasion and they confirmed I canβt cancel and are stuck with the contract for the full.
Cell phone has SOS level of connectivity intermittently for 3 months while at home - that is less than 1 bar LTE - A Cell tower issue.
In talking to tech. support multiple times and trying/ changing every setting on my iPhone the problem persists.
Mint mobile uses T-Mobile cell towers so they have NO CONTROL over the repair of the tower problems and cannot give a completion date.
They have a website where you enter your phone number and when I did that the website showed that my home address gets excellent coverage. Long story short...I am getting one bar and SOS on my phone. Customer service is absolutely horrendous. I did everything they asked for trouble shooting and spent at least a total of 12 hours on the phone and now they sent me a physical sim card and it did not fix the issue. Right now I would even settle for two bars but they keep telling me that I will get better service but it looks like it was just smoke and mirrors.
