Enquired about prices for door and window over a year ago and still awaiting a response. Then I asked for prices for 2 internal doors the same as the ones I had bought from them a couple of years ago. This company told me that they were awaiting on their suppliers to respond and that was the delay. Unbeknownst to them, I contacted these suppliers and found out that they had not been contacted by Huws Gray and didn't know anything about it. Meanwhile, I've been waiting over a year now to get a job done and told continuous lies about materials. Not a trustworthy company and no customer care - they don't want your business. If you can get materials elsewhere, do so. This company are not reputable
I get all my materials from Huws Gray Doncaster branch , service is great most of my orders are handled by Pam her help and understanding when ordering is the best, and is why i keep going back for my materials , well done she’s a credit to her company

From beginning to end great service from all the staff. Went to Hayes branch to order 30 paving tiles (a very small order), as me and my wife were looking at the display outside we were approached by the manager who was very helpful and offered us great advice. Took the time to hear us out, show us round and helped us choose our very modest order. Also, when was the last time you could have chat a joke with staff? Very happy to give them my business. Even the guy who delivered was nice. By the way, great products at great prices!

Staff at Llangefni store were fab. Sorted me out with the right wood for my floor boards, cut to the length I wanted and a great price. Can’t fault them atall.
I popped into the Aberdeen branch and the staff were amazing. I spoke with Raymond and his team and they really helped me out. I would definitely go back and highly recommend the wood cutting service. Very clean and tidy shop and warehouse and easy to park.
First time doing a plaster project and popped in for advice with dimentions. Great, very helpful, told me what I would need so fine, bought it.
Items got delivered. 2 huge bags of plaster came with it which I hadn't wanted and I told the kid who dropped them off I didn't, who told me to return them to store. Having done this within the 30 days of purchasing I get made out to be a liar and told that they won't refund me because they are perishable goods, even though it was a case of not wanting them and telling them immediately. Service was great when it came to taking money but as for customer service afterwards AVOID LIKE COVID! Completely breaching consumer rights act and took advantage of someone who was inexperienced. Disgraceful company, never ever ever will I recommend or ever go to again!
prices are ridicules .... at diss paid twice the going rate for some round posts nearly told them to unload them . will not use them again at those prices
For convenience, I called by their Carlisle branch for loft insulation. Prices are getting steep these days. So a few days later I checked with my main supplier and even B&Q, Huws Gray were nearly double the price. I never use TP's because they're top price, but Huw Gray's is giving TP's a run for their money.
Sadly guys, you're never on my shopping list again.
Huws gray Sudbury in suffolk Manager didn’t like me getting prices elsewhere and being beaten on prices by jewsons and Travis Perkins,so the manager at sudbury huws gray decided to say he does not wish to deal with me anymore or give me anymore prices,however as they still sent me emails asking is there anything we can do for you,I decided to try them once more for a quote,and my last email was for a price on £4000 worth of cavity lintels and £15,000 worth of roof trusses,they told me they do not sell lintels,when I queried it and asked again,he’s full email reply was (NO).I asked at that point about being very blunt and if he had a problem,but with no reply whatsoever,however BRAINTREE Travis Perkins took my orders and I have spent over £20,000 with them in the last two weeks,and the same going forward,just thought customers should know and the directors of huws gray,Because to be honest over 30 years in the building trade I’ve never had a merchants respond and act in this way,such a shame this guy has took it so personal to respond in the way he did,as im spending over £2 million on 3 local projects very local to them in Sudbury i just thought I should share my experience,think the manager and staff at sudbury need to learn some manners and how to treat people/customers instead of getting upset when other merchants like Travis Perkins beat there quotes,Generally I do not leave reviews but in these circumstances thought I needed to do so,I’m sorry that I’ve had to write this review and wish huws gray builders merchant all the best in the future.
