Helpful Customer service

My experience was made great by customer service because when I tried two credit cards they were rejected. Rang customer service and gave my order over the phone, no problem. The lady I spoke to was very helpful and polite.

Soles are Unacceptable

I was delighted to buy a pair of Hotter ‘Flare’ sandals for the first time; they fit well and are much prettier than today’s clumpy styles. However, they have engraved rubber soles, which are dangerous when the wearer makes sudden turns on certain flooring, including carpets. I’ve alarmingly lost my balance twice on my vinyl kitchen floor as the sandals stick on the surface, and they are heavier to wear than other sandals with smooth composite soles. Although they fit well I became uncomfortably aware of my feet when spending the day wearing them recently. This drawback is such a shame as I’d have bought another pair in a different colour, but for me they are a waste of money.

I had a pair of hotter shoes brought as…

I had a pair of hotter shoes brought as a present. They looked lovely but the first time I wore them the rubber soles fell apart. I emailed hotter and told them what had happened but they were not at all interested and I got palmed off . I have purchased a few pairs of there shoes in the past and been happy with them . I didn't want a refund just the shoes replaced but they would not do that so I won't be buying from them again not good customer service.

Outstanding customer service

Very pleased to receive outstanding customer service from a young lady assistant in the York branch today. Unfortunately did not think to note her name. Polite, patient and most helpful in helping my wife select a pair of casual shoes. Thanks.

Hotter boots

I ordered the Addison boots in sizes 5 and 6. I have narrow feet but it was impossible to get my feet into the boots because the toes on both sizes were very tight and narrow and the insoles were extremely bulky and had an uncomfortable raised part under the instep. Not impressed!

A little disappointed

I recently bought some trainers with a zip up the side called Impulse. I'm really pleased with them as they are so comfy. However, I have one problem...the insoles keep sliding about after a few hours of wearing them! The memory foam insoles seem to just be glued in place and after a few hours, the glue starts to melt and then they slide about! It's such a shame!

Good quality shoes

Always great customer service from Southend store. They even help with the door as the owners of the building have put the handle to close to the edge and you can catch your fingers. Last year not so many half sizes and one of the only suppliers you can rely on for this , not sure why but they seem to have rectified some of this now although not Gore tex? Quality of shoes and sandals great but detail on the Tourist sandals (no eyelets) now - shame as they looked good. Overall great and hopefully they have checked that all shoes and sandals are all the same sizes throughout the ranges - maybe this has been a manufacturing / supplier problem ?

Size varies

I bought a pair of shoes and a pair of trainers which fitted perfectly so then I bought another pair of shoes. Similar style same size and standard fit but with an option to take an insole out to make them wide fit. They were huge. Why? Supposed too be a 4 but more like 5. No stores locally so cost to send back. Soo annoying..

Appalling customer service from such a large company that should know better. My 93 year old mother chose boots costing £95 in nov 24 and I was unaware that she was not able to put these on and off herself since. She has not worn them outside at all and they are immaculate. I called customer service to see what could be done as I know shops often have a 30 day return but under these circumstances I thought they might be able to help. The short answer was no! We shall not be using Hotter again in the future.

I bought a pair of Hotter GTX walking shoes for £140.00 about 5 years ago. I hardly wore them due to health issues and the COVID lockdown years. The seams on both shoes have split on the big toe sides where the shoe bends as you walk. I have sent one back and got a phone call from a Hotter employee, on 'behalf of the quality assurance team', claiming these failed seams were 'wear and tear'. She refused to let me talk to the quality assurance team directly, then claimed as Hotter has a new owner it has not bought Hotters 'debt'. I said that companies bought and sold debt all the time. Clearly out of her depth she said this call was clearly not going anywhere, I agreed and said I would make my dissatisfaction known on social media. Takeaway: Please don't waste your money on Hotter walking shoes, they are not made properly and fail very quickly after light use
