Five Star Properties and Bliss Beach Rentals

Property not as described at all!! Awful!!

Enjoyed our stay. Used the bikes to ride around the neighborhood. The home had plenty of room for several families. Our young adult children enjoyed the fitness room, the beach (walking distance), and a fishing expedition we took. Our 81 year old father enjoyed his area with his TV and reclining chair. The ability to travel with our beloved pets was awesome, but we were disappointed that the beach nearest our home was not pet friendly. Beautiful home, great location. All of us (ages 18 to 81) had a fun time. Thank you!

The property was clean, however, the internet didn't work properly, there was 0 extra toilet paper rolls (we ran out before the end of a week stay with 10 people), our pass codes to get into the unit and for beach access did not work properly for us either. Also, there were issues with the grill. There was only a broom on the property to sweep the floors, however we had young kids with us and would have preferred a vacuum for the rug in the living room. A broom just does not cut it. Also, on the day of departure the cleaning crew and I am assuming the property manager both showed up at 9:30 am knocking on the door when we still had 30 mins to vacate the property. They waited in front of the unit until 10 am. That's just plain rude. Customer service was nice and helpful in trying to resolve our issues which is why our stay is not receiving 2 stars.

We had an incredible time at the looking glass! Beautiful, clean and spacious home. Great location and easy walk to the beach. Beach entry just across the street. We had an issue with the upstairs AC unit one night. We called the property management company that night, and they sent someone out immediately to repair it. It was very appreciated! We will definitely be back.

Our recent stay at Mediterranea 401A overall was a good experience. We have rented other units in the complex in the past and this was our first time in 401 working with Five Star. The renter's portal online was easy to use and provided most of the information we needed, but we ended up having to reach out for parking details and the drive-in gate code information. Upon arrival, with other rental companies, we have always had visitor parking passes and all necessary code/access details, wifi, etc waiting for us on the counter. We called regarding the parking passes, and those were brought over promptly. We did have an issue with the pedestrian gate code not working, but because we had additional family members staying in the complex, we were able to get alternate working codes from them. The wifi info provided in the portal was also not correct, but we were able to retrieve the correct info directly from the router. The unit itself was clean and in good condition, but there were a few things we took note of. Regarding kitchen supplies, the largest frying pan was only about 6-8" in diameter -- not sufficient to cook for a group, and there were also no oven mitts/hot pads, so we ended up purchasing our own. The ice maker was very slow (perhaps it wasn't working properly?) so we ended up buying bagged ice too. We had a lot of rain our first few days, and we noticed that the seal on the main sliding door to the patio was damaged and water was leaking inside into the door track. There was some extra wind howling as a result of this as well. And unfortunately the shower head in the 2nd king bedroom (right off of the dining area) made a very loud squealing sound during use. Despite these few minor issues, we were happy with our stay and look forward to next year.

Our rental home for the week of 6/6 was a construction site. The home which was beautiful, given the work that was being done, should have never been rented out. I contacted management and they advised me our rental concerns and issues would be reviewed. Never heard from anyone. Total and complete fail. Don’t make promises to follow up and then drop the ball. Completely unprofessional and amateur....especially concerning a weekly rental in excess of $9,000 for the week.

Beautiful home on the beach with a private pool.perfect vacation!

Online booking was easy. Check in process was effortless. Cleanliness was an issue but they handled it. They really need to be diligent during this Covid crisis. Would try them again hoping my issue wasn’t the norm.

Our family has used FiveStar gulf rentals for 4 yrs now. They have always been helpful and always return my calls quickly. This year with all the COVID-19 issues we had a lot of questions about how the house was cleaned and the beach being opened. Their staff is always friendly n efficient. They kept us up to date with everything. We would certainly recommend them

Great vacation, we were last minute finding a place to stay since Airbnb cancelled our reservation for no reason less than 48 hours before we were to leave home. Excellent service and communication.

The house was perfect for our family vacation. The amount of bedrooms fit our family size. Loved being right on the beach and having a pool for our grandkids was definitely a plus. Wish pool was a little bigger but thankful for what we had

Overall great home; maintenance was easy to contact and resolved problems quickly; didn’t like that the home had carpet in the bedrooms (carpet was stained/dirty); 5 bikes that were provided was nice bonus

This was a great home. Such wonderful access directly to beach. We loved the neighborhood and convenience of location. The bikes, beach set up, all added to our enjoyment. Can’t wait to go back.

We stayed in the Bourban Beach home and it was a great house! I do think they need some higher end smaller appliances and nicer pans. It was so nice to have 3 floors with laundry facilities on each floor. Also, they advertise it as a hot tub and it’s not, it’s a spa tub so same temperature as pool it just has jets in it. I would also suggest they need more than 2 key fobs to get into beach access. You have to use it to enter and exit so it isn’t easy if you have a lot of people with you. They did provide a 6 seater golf cart that I didn’t know about as a part of rental so that was nice to take to beach and 4 bikes. Pool was absolutely amazing, house didn’t have any pool rafts or beach gear to use. They did have 6 chairs with 3 umbrellas set up everyday for you. I brought our own rafts and outdoor speaker. One thing that is annoying but if you have small kids it’s a great feature, their is a piercing alarm that goes off anytime the doors are opened on pool level. If you hold button before you go out it won’t go on but when you come in be prepared to hit it quickly!!!

Great House and Excellent Customer service. This was our second time in the same rental and our third time using Five Star properties. The property was immaculate on arrival. Ideally situated directly across the cobblestone street to the beach access. Pool was discreetly located in the back of the house. Guest relations were timely yet unobtrusive. Home did not need anything! Already planning next years trip....

We booked a last minute vacation through Five Star Properties with another family at 17 Avocet Drive, in Hilton Head SC over the Memorial Day week. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the home, the amenities and modern, beach themed decor. On day 4 of the vacation, the cable and internet went out which was problematic due to this being a working vacation for two of the adults and four boys unable to be entertained during 1 1/2 days of a tropical storm. Issue was reported immediately but it took the property manager to12 hours to respond and only by email. The cable/internet was never restored for the remainder of our 6 night stay (3 1/2 days). While a minor nuisance, both families could not get ahold of anyone for almost a full day. To top off our experience, the AC stopped working for two days in 80+ degree heat. The temperature in the house was 88 degrees and oppressive as you couldn’t open the screen less windows due to the mosquitos. Five Star Properties was unresponsive, poor customer service for a luxury rental. Renter beware should you have any issues, you’re on your own.

Hey Five Star Properties (is that out of 100?) Hair was on the shower wall when we arrived. And on the floor. And coffee marks (not stains - I washed them off) all over the table. This is a Covid-level cleaning? I'd hate to see the regular cleaning! And a dishwasher that doesn't work. And massive construction next door they failed to mention, so loud we can't sit by the pool when they are there. I contacted them Day One and was told they'd call me back. On Day Four, after still not being called back, they told me they "were really busy" but would call soon. Day FIVE now (out of 7) and still nothing. When you pay this much for a luxury rental you deserve better. Do not use this company!!!
