Five Star Properties and Bliss Beach Rentals

We had such an amazing week at this property! You couldn’t ask for a better location. Being right on the beach made it so much more enjoyable, especially with kids. I especially loved how comfortable all the beds were. I will also say, there are hair dryers (even though it’s not on the listing). I will warn that there are no curtains in any of the rooms so it’s very bright starting at 5:30am. That’s the only improvement to the house I’d make, as many want the option to sleep in on vacation (or want their kids to at least)! Five Star Property’s checked in a few times before/during the stay, which is nice but it is very hard to get in contact with them which is a bit frustrating. We were given wrong door code upon arrival and had to call repeatedly before getting anyone to help. We also called about a constant beeping from an alarm dying and no one answered or returned our calls until the next day which was disappointing when paying for an upscale place. They were apologetic both times and it didn’t put too much of a damper on things overall. I would definitely stay here again, as the house is lovely and perfect for a big group! Also, you can’t beat the private beach and no one to block your views!!

The condo was perfect for our family. We were close together, but all had our own space. Being on the beach was wonderful for us. My grandsons especially enjoyed the pool. We hope to be able to rent a similar property in the future.

Great place for a great vacation! Love it!

The people who work for this company were super friendly and respond to questions and concerns quickly! However, there were a few issues with the condo that they should’ve known about if they check their properties frequently. For example, the main patio door on our ground level rental DID NOT LOCK. They are using a square piece of wood in the track of the sliding door as a “lock”. The refrigerator doors shut but don’t seal like a regular fridge. Some patio furniture was so wobbly that it was unsafe to use. Full length SUV’s were not able to turn in the assigned parking garage (because it had concrete garage with closing door). I was told you could probably set up chairs and a baby shade (not a huge tent) past the end of the paid chairs but this is not the case. There are paid chairs to both ends of the property, which then goes to public beach. It is $250 to rent chairs for the week so we had to end up doing that. Other than these little issues, they were great to rent from and I would again.

We Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mai Tai. With our party of seven we had plenty of room to spread out. The location was nice with a short walk to the beach. On non beach days we had a great time lounging by the cool pool and BBQ'ing. The fatalities met all our needs and wants with a beautiful serene decor. In the evenings we enjoyed the state of the art kitchen and took turns cooking meals and ended our nights with board games. We all had a wonderful, relaxing time and hope to visit again.

This house was so perfect for our vacation! The pictures of the house to not do it justice! We had 2 families and having a bathroom in every bedroom was great.The pool was small, but this was not the problem, we had a lot of fun. My pet went with us and this was very good. I selected this house because of its location. Thank you so much for the wonderful memories!! I would recommend this house to everyone and plan to book it again next year. Lidia Martins

If there were a way to leave 1/2 of a star i would. I will try to be as honest as possible so i will give them a thumbs us far as the location, you couldn't ask for a better LOCATION to stay. We came at a very difficult time as far as the virus. We arrived there 2 days before the ban was lifted allowing condos and vacation homes to be rented. We were staying at a hotel keeping our fingers crossed in hopes that it would lift while we were there allowing us to be able to move our party of 9 to the beach front condo while we were there. We received a call on the 2nd day of our 5 night stay saying it was lifted and we could stay there. I was to notify them if I wanted to move forward on our rental. I called them to tell the we wanted to leave the hotel and move to the condo but it went to voicemail. I emailed them as well notifying them of our decision. Within literally 5 minutes of me emailing then, I received a confirmation email where they ran my credit card. In our email, it had almost all the necessary information needed to checkin. All 9 of us unloaded our luggage and hauled it up to the 12th floor. When we got to the door, we started looking for the key code and there wasn't one. We called them numerous times, over and over and over, no answer. We emailed them, we even drove by the office location which was about a 7 minute drive from where we were, but nobody was in the office. I can't even begin to tell you how many messages we left. ( Funny how within 5 minutes of me giving them the okay on running my credit card they read my message and got their money. ) We literally stood outside our condo for over 2 hours trying to get in. FINALLY someone called me back and was very apologetic and gave us they combination. That evening, we all went in the pool on the property to go swimming... we got kicked out of the pool because they didn't leave wristbands which allowed the guest access to the pool. We also didn't received parking passes upon our arrival. After calling again multiple times telling them about the parking passes and wristbands they finally brought them evening before our departure. We were told by the lady answering the phone that someone would be by to bring us a gift card because of all the complication..... we waited, nobody showed up!! I talked to someone when we were loading our luggage and and told them we wanted to be compensated for everything we went through. She ask how much we would like to be compensated and i told her i though half of our money back... they agreed but we will never rent from this company again!!

The location of Hona Hula is amazing! The agents are beyond helpful and super easy to reach. They made sure they were 100% prepared for our stay and was in touch regularly to make sure our stay was everything we hoped it would be. The house is super fun and perfect for large families with lots of kids. The walk to the beach is literally the easiest we’ve ever had at a stay in Destin. The only minor problem with this house is the lack of an elevator and the decor could be updated a bit but overall it was truly an amazing vacation for our family and we’d definitely stay there again!!

Trouble from the beginning of our stay. 1. Didnt get a code 2. After stopping by Five Star i received a code drove to home and it didnt work. No one answer the 800 number it was leave a msgs. I had to drive back to Five Star and get another code, it worked. 3. Second day a man came to home disconnected the cable. We had no internet or cable for day and half. 4. 3rd day kitchen sink started leaking had to clean water up and place a bowl under leak and keep dumping until repaired a couple days later. The home was beautiful but hard to enjoy due to all the issues.

Five hours into our trip to Destin I received an email informing me that my booking had been canceled. Apparently they had overbooked. We were desperately trying to make other arrangements. I called Five Star Properties and everything fell into place, even better than our original destination. The people were so friendly and helpful. Someone was always available to help throughout our stay, unlike others I had dealt with!!! I would definitely recommend Five Star Properties to anyone looking to book a vacation. I will definitely be making arrangements with them in the future!

This house was so perfect for our vacation! The pictures of the house to not do it justice! We had several families and having a bathroom in every bedroom was great. I selected this house because of its location being on the beach. Everyone enjoyed walking down to the beach any time they wanted. Even my father, who is 83 walked down every day. He would nap under the covered patio between watching the waves and everyone playing in either the pool or ocean. Thank you so much for the wonderful memories!! We were able to celebrate a retirement, a graduation and a birthday. Each night we sat together for dinner. There was plenty of room for 3 and 4 cooks in the kitchen and everyone had a seat at the huge table. I would recommend this house to everyone and plan to book it again next year.

We enjoyed our stay. I will say there were a couple of minor issues (door code didn’t work upon arrival, no one seemed to know the correct gate code for private access, nor did anyone know about which company was handling our daily beach chair rentals until 2 days after we arrived). This was originally supposed to be a spring break trip, but due to covid19 and the governors rental ban we had to reschedule 3 times. So the issues to me were minor considering the chaos of just getting this trip off the ground. I’m assuming under normal circumstances this would have been a 5 star trip.

We love the house we rented and the gated community where it is located. I didn't give it a five start rating because there was a 6-passenger golf cart parked in the garage that we were not allowed to use and it was taking space that we could have used for another vehicle. The walk to the beach is father than the 8-min walk they claimed, and the pool are was dirty, as well as the bottom of the pool.

Several years of renting in the Seaside area. This experience was just horrible. Stovetop in house never worked correctly. Pool was so dirty we had to wait for it to be cleaned so we could use it. They never answer the phone and only call back if they think you want to rent something. I will never rent from them again.

The VER BEST! PERFECTION!

We had a wonderful stay at "A Winters Past By the Sea" The property was in a great location, easy access to everything, and the best beach access. The property was very clean and actually better than the photographs. Due to the late opening of the Florida vacation rentals it only left us 3 nights and 2 days for our stay. We had a short but great time. The house was well stocked with kitchen items. The linens and towels were all great. We had a couple of little things that were very minor. We could not find the 5 plastic trash bags that were to be provided by 5 Star. We did not have any coffee filters and there was no hairdryer. It was a great quick and much needed "get-a-way". We would rent this property again.
