I have been receiving products regularly and cannot fault their quality, truly 5star meals every time

For years we have ordered our favourite the Beef Trim in bulk. We are very disappointed that now however we can only order two packs at the reduced price. When ordering Beef Trim we always ordered other items as well but as old age pensioners we now find Donald Russell too expensive to order without our favorite product.

OUTSTANDING!!! The meat is the absolute best quality. The deserts are unbelievable!! Customer Service Exceptional !!!! I don’t shop anywhere else. Do all those concerned it may be a little more expensive? Yes it is in some cases but we eat less meat but just better quality .

Over the last 12 years plus, I have experienced very few problems ordering from DR and have found the majority of products very good value but especially so when on offer which is now a regular feature. As a result of Covid, DR had to diversify their products and offer a greater variety of "ready meals" than they previously did so as to keep their company viable. It is now commented by some that pack sizes have been reduced in weight but virtually all food suppliers and Supermarkets, etc., have recently had to do this without lowering or changing their prices. However, taking all things into consideration, most of the DR products are still in my opinion good value. DR's service and delivery have always been excellent and over the years I have recommended DR to all of our friends. Keep up the good work !

We have been using this company for some considerable years now and feel That within the last 2/3 years the focus has been on ready meals rather than fresh produce. The quality of some of the meat does not seem to be as good as previously. The company seems to have lost its identity as a first class butcher and has joined the ranks of a ‘ready meal brigade’, in which it is not particularly competitive.

Always value for money and excellent quility

Most of the time things go right. This time (neither Donald Russell's nor my fault) things went wrong. Donald Russell did everything they could to fix the problem, were prompt in responding, polite in their interaction with me, full of good helpful advice and altogether a kind human interface!

I have been buying all my meat from Donald Russell since the start of the pandemic and have found the quality and service to be excellent. I don't recommend the alpine fries, very peculiar and don't cook well, nor do I like their pies which are over-peppery and have too much herb. I have read some of the other reviews and have to say that there have never been any errors in my orders and on the two occasions I have spoken to customer services they have been extremely helpful.

I will not order from Donald Russell again. The products are OK - not exceptional, however my main issue is that for two years running, I have placed an order for Christmas months before. On both occasions I was informed of products being out of stock just days before delivery. Had to do some more unplanned last minute shopping. If products are ordered months in advance then they should be available - no excuses. Another issue is the 100% recyclable packaging. It isn't. My local authority won't recycle it and it goes to landfill. Please do not reply with "contact customer service", your reply should made here for transparency to all.

The outstanding thing about DR is the customer service - they've gone above and beyond more than once when there's been a delivery issue or problem, even at cost to themselves. We'll always use them. Their steaks are great - and they have harder-to-find types (picanha, flat-iron, bavette etc). Always impressive.

As a single pensioner I only order about 4 times a year but the quality is always excellent

Meat arrives chilled and well packed. The chuck eye steaks were a revelation, will buy them again.

Been a customer of Donald Russell for many years and only ever had one complaint, which wasn't their fault. The delivery van was involved in an accident and some of the produce packaging was damaged, which Donald Russell replaced immediately. Their prepared ready meals meals are top quality for a quick meal, easy to prepare and delicious.

Excellent in all ways

You have to be careful what you buy because from my perspective it can be expensive. I don’t like price maintained but for less quantity and also prices have been increased. Obviously marketing savvy but that doesn’t always endear. That’s why it’s not 5 star because otherwise the quality is superb. Occasionally half price offers give excellent value for money. I can highly recommend the steaks and also the seafood but the latter comes at an extortionate price. Quality yes and importantly consistent guaranteed quality has led to me ordering into three figures now but you have to be selective - well for my wallet at least on a pension.

A first rate Company to deal with. All orders are dealt with very very quickly and arrive in first class condition. The meat and fish are superb. A great variety at very reasonable prices for the quality of the product. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others.
