I have been purchasing from Donald Russell for many years I have noticed the gourmet burgers which used to be a quality if a little expensive are now are now more than 10% smaller and over the past year quality has declined as a whole prices gone up dramatically in the past I did not mind paying a little extra for quality but now it is getting out of my price range I must add customer service first class
I will only generally order items when there are offers as otherwise the prices are just too high , particularly given pack sizes reducing. Always good quality and customer service on the phone is good. Let down by DHL as couriers. I have now had 2 orders delayed or not delivered by DHL. Given the deliveries are frozen food with clear warnings only to deliver on the designated day and not to return to ‘hub’ it is outrageous that one of two boxes are delivered over 24 hours late and with some items starting to defrost. I am seriously considering whether to order again after this has now happened twice!!
Have been buying from Donald Russell for several years with no issues. However, in my last order i received products that were 8 months old and only had 4 months left before expiry. When i raised this with Customer Services i was told that this was acceptable. I have never had products that had such a short life span previously - unfortunately i was let down during my order and by customer services on this occasion. I have taken a break from Donald Russell for a little while and am seeking an alternative supplier.
Always had good service & the meat is consistently good quality. Delivery on my selected day is very good and is always on time within the window stated.
The staff are so helpful and efficient. I am quite happy with most products from Donald Russell, and it's important to me that they come from grass fed animals or fish that have been responsibly caught in the sea. The fish is so much stronger than some of the mushy ones I have bought from the supermarkets in the past. I am not keen on their pies because of the soggy bottoms, but the filling is always excellent.

I was told about D.R when I retired 10yrs ago and now receive regular deliveries from them, the quality is second to none and choices are excellent .The jumbo pork sausage and the lorne sausage are my favourite breakfast additions. For those winter casseroles their beef rib trim is the most tasty. The other main advantage of using D.R is their customer service is excellent on the few occasions I have needed to contact them they have dealt with my enquiries in a very friendly but professional manner .
I've been a customer for many years and agree with other comments that the top quality butchery has been overtaken by a focus on ready meals. I quite understand the reasons for this but it means I buy less than I used to, the ready-prepared, freezer to oven dinners are of little interest to me

Top quality products, excellent communication, vast option of delivery dates, sensational special offers and fantastic customer service! What’s not to like? I have used Donald Russell for about 10 years now and only once been disappointed, cue the amazing customer support and the issue was immediately resolved! That was about 5 years ago and I’m delighted to still be a regular customer. Quality is so crucial for a company’s success and growth, and consistency appears to be the key to their success. I can honestly say that the product that I get from DR is far better than my local supermarket, impressively presented and delivered exactly as advertised! 👍
Lovely beef and ready made meals. Chateaux Brian’s for the same price as cheaper cuts. Butchers sausages and fish cakes. Can’t wayto try some new flavours.

Love the customer service. However ready meals tried over the years have disappointed (the black packaging is really ugly) except the outstanding lasagnes (very wet but tasty) and the glorious confit duck. Our Xmas beef rib joints have had next to no fat surrounding (had to use oil for roasting potatoes - horror). However, I love their ethos and will continue to watch for new lines.
We have enjoyed Donald Russell for at least 6 years, but in the last year or two we have used them less and less. The fresh meat is still very good, but prices have increased exponentially to the point we only buy from them when there is an exceptional offer. Their sale prices equate to the normal price elsewhere. As pensioners on fixed income, we must steward our resources carefully and that simply means we can't use them as often as we used to. They have seemed to have gone in for a lot of ready meals and processed products, but fresh meats are what they are renowned for and what we want. Their fish is good, but so, so expensive. Sorry DR, but you are gradually losing us.
Some of the offers are quite good value, I especially like their sausages. However, most of the food is very expensive and not always the best. I'm especially referring to their bacon which is so full of water and a horrible white mush appears when cooking. The meat balls were also very dry and lacked flavour. I liked the venison and mushroom burgers - just need to know what's best to order

Your delivery company didn’t deliver on the time keeping the product an extra day then left at the front door without ringing the hence everything was thawed out . I sent a email too yourselves complaining with no response.
delivery was as requested and the quality was excellent as always.
