This is a review covering 3 years of dealing with Donald Russell. Excellent staff, knowledgeable and helpful. Products purchased and delivered are of a high quality, my only disappointment over the year has been the meatloaf but that has possibly to do with my taste

I do absolutely love Donald Russell's meat etc. I wouldn't go back to getting my meat from a supermarket after trying it from here. In fact getting it from a supermarket nearly made me go off meat altogether. I lived in New Zealand for years and had some of the best meat available, more so because we lived on a farm we had all the fresh lamb and beef etc that we wanted. The supermarket sells NZ beef and lamb but it certainly doesn't taste anything like it in fact didn't even look anything like a cut of beef or lamb, hence going elsewhere. I found Donald Russell on the internet and read great reviews and had to try one last place to get some decent meat. Since our first delivery, we haven't looked back and we continue to buy from here each week. The best meat by far.. The one downfall I have is the plastic containers that some of the meals, fish arrive in. They arrive broken quite often and some have very little bits of the plastic on top of the meals. Lucky I can see them so I can pick the tiny bits off before cooking. There are elderly people and people with bad eyesight that may not see those pieces and cook the meals with it getting inside the food. I think the packers need to be told to go more careful when packing the plastic containers as when they are frozen they will snap more easily. Donald Russell still has my rate of approval 100% though.

As with most things at this time,costs are only going one way. UP!! Sad but true. With Donald Russell we have a saving grace. Good food,meat or fish even ice cream and no waste.With smaller packages,we can use more vegetables to fill our plates,and help us with our waists.If you buy cheap you buy twice. Quality costs,but it's worth it

I have been using Donald Russell online service to buy meat and other foodstuffs and I am very glad I found them. The meat is delicious and in my opinion good value. The prepared meals are very tasty and the pies I have tried have been scrumptious. I particularly enjoyed the T-bone pork chop. I normally order online but there was a glitch the other week so I called them. The lady who answered my call was just lovely and had everything sorted in no time. You do need to know that everything arrives frozen so make sure you have freezer space.

My orders are always delivered on time and contain very good quality products. The items are individually packed and frozen with information labels listing description, date frozen and use by dates. I've used this service for a number of years and never received any poor quality items

Normally talk to ladies on phone they are always so cheery and polite. This goes down the line to the courier company you use plus the meat is pretty good too!

I have been a customer for many years wouldn't buy elsewhere apart from the meat all the ready meals are delicious especially the fish pies may cost more than the supermarket but no comparison

I have made a number of purchases from DR and all have been of high quality, packaged well and arrived on time. Excellent experience.

I recently purchased items from you. Most of the food was excellent as expected save from 2 items. Firstly the centre cut fillet steak at 160g costing £13 was so small it was barely enough to make much of an impression on the plate and secondly Ribeye steak at 227g costing £9 was so thin it was very difficult to judge cooking times. I hope that you can rectify my complaints as I would purchase further orders in the future. I would like to receive your response. Regards Victor Southam

I have been using DR since November 2022. I ordered all My Christmas good from them too and have continued to use them since. I find everything is good quality and conveniently packaged to put in the freezer.
