I have just received my first order, delivery was spot on, I bought 4 meatloaves and today Sunday roast was perfect, the meat cooked perfectly and I'm delighted with my purchase,

I placed an order online and selected a specific delivery date. The steak selection arrived this morning on the date and time selected and was excellently packaged with dry ice packets to keep everything frozen. This is my first order and so far I’m very impressed.

Food delivered in perfect condition ready to pop into the freezer …. Slowly getting through everything, all delicious :) would definitely pass onto anyone who hasn’t tried your meats …. Fish cakes my favourite !!! Steak and kidney pie next !!

Was dubious of ordering on line. Was not disappointed. Everything was good quality and liked the variety so I didn't need to think what to order. Will use again.

The food was delicious. I can only say the individual pies were probably the best pies I have ever eaten in my life, they were truly amazing. The bacon was to die for, and the steaks were lovely.

Having read some of the less-than-favourable comments about the quality and value of the food delivered by Donald Russell, I cannot believe that they have been dealing with the same company that I know and love. My wife and I have been dealing with Donald Russell for very many years and the quality and service is as good today as it was the day we received our first order.

It is quite a few years since I used the Donald Russell service and I am delighted it is every bit as good as ever and I am re-hooked !

Can't speak for the quality of the food yet however the customer services can't be faulted. There was an issue with delivery (the couriers fault. No fault of Donald's Russell's here) and the customer service team couldn't have been more helpful keeping me informed about what was happening and resolving the issue for me in a polite and speedy fashion so no grumbles here so far. Fingers crossed the meat is decent

We are normally big fans of Donald Russel and have been buying for over 10 years, recently we ordered the beef madras, it’s was although great taste the meat was just so fatty, so much so that at one point my poor wife actually boaked and refused to eat any more, I reported our dissatisfaction with Donald Russell who wrote back a few days later to say they had received our message and would come back to us, since then nothing, not a word so these guys just don’t care and I was happy to just put this down to an unfortunate instance but I am now convinced they knew it was as we had described.

Just spent another £95 on Donald Russell foods. This evening we had the Coq au vin…. It was awful 😞 Chicken thighs were fatty, awful onions, swimming in gravy ( red wine not reduced ). Saving Grace was I made New Jersey potatoes & home made cauliflower & broccoli gratin

We've just finished the first order and have been absolutely delighted by the quality of the steaks, mince and burgers we've sampled. We're now looking to place a new order ...

Quality meat, can’t fault the product. One star knocked off for the ridiculous number of marketing emails sent since I received the order. Let me eat it some of it before offering me more!

Have already sampled some of the products and they were delicious and of fantastic quality. Looking forward to eating the remainder and placing the next order

some years ago we bought excellent meat from Donald Russell but we are not big meat-eaters. In April we were having special guests for lunch so thought we would order 4 steak and kidney pies and one chicken pie. The steak and kidney pies were very poor quality. where was the identifiable meat? It seems that it had disintegrated into what should have been the gravy. What was identifiable by taste was the miniscule couple of pieces of kidney. The chicken pie was voted just OK. Very disappointing and embarrassing. Reading other reviews it seems that the former Donald Russell quality is no longer. We will not order again.

Everything has been fantastic in my 3 orders so far... Except one thing. The venison & mushroom burgers were so overpowered by tarragon they were I edible. I was really looking forward to them. Still 5 stars. My favourite butcher.

Excellent service from ordering to delivery. So far meat has been really good.

I have always found their meat of excellent flavour, the choice is very wide and delivery is brilliant. I will continue to use them. My favourite - Beef rib trim - so tender and tasty when cooked slow.
