It was very easy to use Centauro, which I and my familiy has done for more than 15 years. During the last two years the service has overall developed and the price for full cover insurance.

Horrible experience. The only way to get there from Madrid airport is with a shuttle( badly organized) and once we got there we had to wait hours in the sun in the queue.
una stella perchè meno non si può. sono imbarazzanti, servizio clienti ridicolo. Effettuato prenotazione online pagamento andato a buon fine ma la prenotazione no, quindi mi trovo ad aver pagato ma no ho nessun numero di prenotazione in mano. per fare reclamo devi compilare un form dove il numero di prenotazione è obbligatorio. ho doovuto contestare il pagamento al servizio clienti della mia carta di credito. Evitate questa società come la peste.
Finger weg! Bei Abholung des Autos war viel los und die Mitarbeiter dementsprechend kurz angebunden und unfreundlich. Von anderen Autovermietungen bin ich es gewohnt, gemeinsam mit einem Mitarbeiter das Auto in Empfang zu nehmen. Inkl. Erklärung und evtl. Dokumentation von bereits erfolgten Schäden. Ich bekam lediglich den Schlüssel auf den Tresen geknallt und musste das Auto selbst suchen. Bei der Abgabe dann die Abzocke: Mir wurde ein Schaden abgedichtet, den ich nicht verursacht habe. Und da ich leider keine Beweisfotos gemacht habe, wurden 270€ einbehalten. Das Personal, ebenfalls wieder kurz angebunden und unfreundlich, lies sich auf keine Diskussion ein. Nicht einmal ein Schadensbericht wurde mir ausgestellt. Nun hoffe ich auf Check24 und den Premiumschutz, um die Kosten zurück zu erhalten. Wie bereits in vorherigen Rezensionen geschrieben: Centauro lockt mit günstigen Angeboten und verdient am Ende mit solchen Methoden. Nie wieder Centauro. Einen Stern gibt es lediglich für die Nähe zum Flughafen und den Shuttleservice.

DON'T EVER RENT A CAR FROM THESE CROOKS! Rented a car via RentalCars.com in Alicante. I will not bother you with the complete story but give you a summary: (1) waiting for 1,5h to get the car because we booked via Rentalcars.com and direct bookings were prioritized by the ticket system. (2) car was not there and again delay - now 30m - to fix this (3) extra payment for younger driver (not published) (4) extremely rude people when picking up the car in the garage and speeding/shouting by employees in the garage (5) tried to rip me off by giving me a lower class car. When I complaint, they didn't say anything and just threw a new key to me (they were pissed: really?). (6) I asked for a new contract. They shouted:'already in your mailbox!' - I never got it! I send them an e-mail directly when picking up the car. Never got a reaction (7) Maybe the most annoying, it took them 3 weeks!!! to release my deposit of €1.400 after they confirmed no claims. I send them an e-mail after 1 week and a reminder after 12 days (and afterwards every day a reminder) and never got a reaction! Since today, they finally releaed it, I feel save to write this review. NEVER EVER RENT A CAR WITH THEM!!!

Centauro Alicante Airpot I never received the car I reserved and paid for. While finalizing my rental, I overheard a customer next to me being pressured into buying extra insurance, despite already having Full Protection via Booking.com (as I did). I told them it wasn’t necessary — and for that, the Centauro employee (badge 29, 3-July-2025, 18:30) snapped and yelled “You don’t get a car today. Full stop.” No clear explanation was given. I was told to "mind my business" and denied the vehicle out of retaliation. They aggressively refused service, suggested I cancel (which I didn’t), and even threatened to call the police — which I welcomed. The police tried to mediate, but Centauro wouldn’t cooperate. Booking customers were treated worse in the queue system too — I waited over 50 mins while direct customers were helped immediately. I ended up paying much more for a last-minute car, lost time, and endured serious stress. The treatment I received was not only unacceptable it bordered on abusive. Disrespectful, aggressive, and completely unprofessional. Avoid at all costs.
Ich würde nie wieder bei dieser Mietwagengesellschaft ein Auto buchen. Bei der Abholung stellte man uns vor die Wahl: 1.100€ Kaution hinterlegen, aber bei dem kleinsten Kratzer wird das GANZE Geld eingezogen oder jetzt 182€ zahlen und alles ist abgedeckt und wir brauchen keine Kaution hinterlegen... Ich habe erst darauf verwiesen, dass wir eine Rundum-Versicherung durch die Buchung bei Check24 abgeschlossen haben, aber da meinte die Mitarbeiterin nur ganz stumpf, dass das nicht gelte. Wir standen da also um 22 Uhr abends und hatten keine andere Wahl, als uns für eine der Optionen zu entscheiden. Wir zahlten die 182€, weil uns klar war, dass sie am Ende irgendwas finden würden, um die Kaution einzuziehen... Jetzt im Nachhinein kann uns natürlich keiner helfen - weder Check24, noch der Anbieter. Auch die ausgestellte Rechnung, mit der ich beweisen kann, was wir bezahlt haben und die Dokumente, dass wir das Auto somit doppelt versichert hatten, helfen nicht. "Wir haben ja schließlich erst eingewilligt." Der einzige positive Punkt: Das Auto war in einem sehr guten Zustand und wir hatten unterwegs und auch bei der Rückgabe keine Probleme.
Wir hatten auch etwas Sorge wegen der schlechten Bewertungen aber es war alles sehr gut. Wir waren in Mallorca, haben den gelben Bus sofort gefunden wie in den Unterlagen beschrieben. Wartezeit am Schalter waren ca. 10 Minuten (man bekommt im Bus eine Nummer) und der Mitarbeiter hat sogar deutsch gesprochen und war sehr freundlich. Die Frage nach der Zusatzversicherung wurde einfach verneint. Anschließend wurde die Kaution plus Tank von der Kreditkarte geblockt bzw. abgebucht. Auto hatte erst 800km und war in einem top Zustand. Rückgabe mit Kontrolle war auch in wenigen Minuten erledigt und der Bus stand schon bereit. Nach wenigen Tagen haben wir das ganze Geld zurück bekommen.
Beware of this car rental company. If you refuse their very expensive additional insurance, they will make you pay in advance 1,100 EUR deposit. I hired the car over a week ago, returned with no damage, and am still waiting for them to send this 'deposit' back to me. The whole experience was slightly off, with the lady behind the counter behaving in an actively hostile manner once she realised i would not buy the insurance, trying to give us a car so filthy we couldn't even see out of the windscreen, charging around 50Euro for a 'full' charge e car, which we then realised was only at 90% after we had left etc. i think you would be better off sticking with one of the main companies at the airport to avoid the hassle of having to chase your deposit weeks after you hired your car. Edit: 2 weeks on and still have not received my deposit refund.
l'unica cosa alla quale sono interessati è vendervi la loro copertura assicurativa e se non la fai trovano qualsiasi motivo per chiederti un backcharge alla consegna dell'auto, forti del poco tempo a disposizione se devi prendere un volo. al ritiro dell'auto abbiamo aspettato più di 2 ore, perché chi prenotata auto direttamente dal sito aveva priorità assoluta, chi prenotata tramite tour operator (last minute) deve semplicemente aspettare.. aspettare per sentirsi catechizzare sul fatto che l'assicurazione è NECESSARIA, anche se già fatta con tour operator (sempre last minute). alla consegna prima hanno provato con il dire che non c'era il pieno ma dopo lamentele e prova plateale che non fosse così, si sono buttati sulla ruota per un segnetto trascurabile, probabilmente preesistente, fermandoci 600 euro dalla caparra (complessiva di 1200 per 3 giorni). da evitare assolutamente..
