Not impressed, ridiculous charges for everything

First time cruiser and made an error when I booked not realising that the cabin i chose had a connecting door. Rang straight away to change cabin and was told it was a £50 per person charge. Fortunately managed to do it on line for free. Then requested 3 days after booking to transfer the reservation to a travel agent for better price and management. Was told this was only available within 2 days of booking and I was on day 3. Forums and website say 30 days !! They reluctantly agreed to transfer to an agent but as a first time cruiser the whole experience has put me off Celebrity who appear to be nothing but money grabbers. So disappointed in them.

Just got off Ascent…. WOW

Just got off Ascent - I want to go immediately back on board This was my 9th ever cruise but my second cruise with celebrity. In an avid P&O cruiser but last year tried apex for the first time for a 4 day Cruise and booked ascent around Greece, Turkey and Malta. What an absolute incredible week, I want to go back on board immediately. The staff are just suburb, everyone is so friendly and the health protocols I.e washing signs before the Buffett are taken very seriously!! The ship itself is gorgeous - I am an interior designer so I was in awe of the design, they have done a fantastic job!! Counting down the weeks until I’m on Apex for 2 weeks Which I am super excited for! Once again celebrity is the best cruise line, hands down this has been my favourite cruise EVER, get me back on board now

Don’t book a guaranteed veranda

Booked a guaranteed stateroom with a veranda. The one we were referred to was an infinity. We were allocated an obstructed view veranda with a porthole. To say we are fuming is an understatement! Clearly while they are auctioning off upgrades - they auctioned off our veranda cabin. Misleading customers.

Celebrity X Millennium.

Celebrity X Millennium. We cruised with this cruise ship called Celebrity X Millennium in July 2025 around Japan this was the worst cruise ship we have ever cruised on it’s ready for the knackers yard it’s that old and worn, the food onboard was the worse quality of food we have ever tasted on a cruise ship no taste just very cheap quality, the entertainment was so poor absolutely rubbish, we was also ripped off by Celebrity X Cruises by selling us a Veranda Stateroom that turned out to be a partial view Veranda Stateroom with no apologies or any compensation absolutely disgusting service we have received from Celebrity X Cruises we would never ever cruise with Celebrity X Cruises again or ever recommend them so we would recommend not cruising with Celebrity X Cruise or cruise on the ship called Celebrity X Millennium. Our Veranda Stateroom was 7023 on deck 7 don’t book this Veranda Stateroom unless you don’t mind a partial view with a massive steel column within the Veranda view but you will be charged as if the stateroom was a standard Veranda Stateroom with full clear scenic views mid-sold a standard Veranda Stateroom for a partial view stateroom and we have had absolutely disgusting customer service from Celebrity X Cruises.

I am elite plus member and I had never experience such a bed customer service like I had today. I was on the phone for almost 2 hours waiting for representative and after all somebody hang up on me. I called again and was waiting for another hour, the person who picked the phone was extremely rout to me and didn't answer any questions that I asked after I asked for the manager he hang up the phone. It is absolutely unacceptable and I will cancel my future cruises with Celebrity.

Cruise on Celebrity Reflection

Not as good as our previous cruise with Celebrity. On the last one the attention to detail was excellent, the cabin steward regularly came to check how things were and everything was left really neat and tidy. But now little things like the curtains being left a bit askew and the towels in the bathroom not being hung very tidy detract from this. Although I believe the ship recently had a refit the cabin/stateroom looked a bit worn and tired. We found the cruise advertised through a cruise company as a package with a suite, premium all inclusive drinks package and tips included. The stateroom was very spacious with a balcony and double patio doors and the drinks package allowed us to order whatever we wanted, but I noticed as soon as we walked on board they were trying to promote and upgrade the drinks packages at a discounted price for people who did not have it included. What I found most annoying was that the drinks menu stated at the bottom in very small print that a 20% service charge would be added and it was obvious that they were attempting to try to keep this concealed, but this didn't affect us as we had the drinks package. I felt guilty that I did not leave any tips, we usually do, but as our tips were supposed to be included I didn't. I'm not convinced that all or any of the supposedly prepaid tips are passed onto the staff. Although It was a Mediterranean cruise there were a lot of American guests on board and I felt that at busy times in some of the bars they would get priority because they tip well. As the ship was booked to max capacity it seemed very crowded and it was not possible to get a sun bed in a decent position unless up very early. We only went to the main restaurant one evening for dinner and found things a bit rushed and definitely not up to the standard of our previous Celebrity cruise. Everything else was good though including the speciality restaurants, food in the buffet, shows and everything was well organised. The food was amazing as were the cocktails and martinis

It's a flagship, and a beautiful ship, but...

This is our first cruise and we booked the Sunset Veranda stateroom, for a 10 night Mediterranean Cruise on Celebrity Beyond. We got one on deck 12, which is directly below the Ocean View Cafe which has outdoor seating right above our room. Prepare to hear tables and chairs being dragged across said deck all day long starting at 5am. You'll be woken up early, and don't think about an afternoon nap, the hordes of people in and out on that deck will keep you awake all day. Management are aware of the issue, and I feel they're just not interested in sorting it out with a permanent fix. When I complained they couldn't move us to a room of similar size so tried to "upgrade us" to an aqua class stateroom with infinite Veranda which is 100sqf smaller. I'm sorry but when I book a bigger room without these fancy services it means the priority here is the size of the room and not eating in Blu or a day using the spa facilities, excl massages. They're also quick to sell you premium drinks packages but will serve you the cheap stuff as standard unless you specify... The wines between both packages are of the same quality except for 1 in two specialty dining restaurants which is the Villa Antinori Toscana. Some premium wines they won't have in stock and will offer you the standard stuff anyways. There doesn't seem to be enough pools for everyone, the Infinity plunge pools aren't really cooled down. The bar staff at the Sunset Bar, Pool Bar and Martini Bar are understaffed and overworked, it is visible. I take my hat off to them for the hard work though. Some bar staff had a bit of negative attitude and some wait staff were very robotic. They were unable to make the usual stuff like a Hugo, Pimms cocktail or a caipirinha, to be fair these weren't menu items listed as a cocktail, but all the ingredients are there. Plus you'd expect this calibre of company to be able to have knowledgeable staff. There's no consistency in quality of product across any of the bars. Quality of cleanliness was bit of an issue with us receiving soiled cutlery with old food stuck to it, and the questionable riedel wine glass with lipstick markings. The DJ's providing you the entertainment will play the same songs for the entire 10 day cruise and by day 3 it will get predictable, kesha, black eyed peas, pit bull... Its manotonous. The Pride celebration at Sea was okay, but just felt like an after thought on a checklist. There was a bar cart with limited drinks and the sunset bar hours weren't extended to tackle the 100+ people who attended.

We sailed on Celebrity Beyond and after…

We sailed on Celebrity Beyond and after an excursion to Delos Greece the tour operator’s ferry dropped us off about three miles from the ship. One of the other tour operators for Celebrity said we should just walk right to get back to the ship. Although the ship looked to be 3 to 4 miles away, we started out walking right and unfortunately the only way to get back to the ship was walking up a narrow, two lane highway with buses and vans wizzing by as my husband and I walked a foot wide, gravel path bordered on one side by on coming traffic and on the other side by a foot high wall that plummeted down to the coastline about 20 feet below. Each time a van or bus came by my husband and I had to wave at them to try to get them to see us and not kill us. When we returned to the ship we immediately went to the excursions desk to tell them about our terrible experience, and several other couples also came there as well having had the same experience. Selena at the excursions desk could have cared less about our horrendous experience. We were terrified. This experience came right on the heels of an excursion to Santorini, Greece the previous day, in which the tour operator ended the tour at the base of a huge hill with about a miles worth of shops to walk uphill through, in order to come either to a cable car at which point you had to wait about two hours in the blazing sun to come back to the ship or thousands of steps that wound down a mountain that I’m not sure how most of the cruise passengers were able to traverse. We chose the steps but my husband and I are relatively fit. Celebrity seemingly had no cares at all for our safety, or for anyone else’s for that matter. If you value your life, never go on a celebrity cruise. This was a very expensive cruise in honor of our 40th wedding anniversary, and it was totally ruined by Celebrity’s lack of attention to the safety of its passengers. Please run from this horrendous cruise line! Terrible experience!

Went to Australia in Feb/March 2023

Went to Australia in Feb/March 2023, with celebrity cruise through our local travel agent, everyone was lovely as we boarded ship in Sydney, Cabin was dated, curtains shabby other facilities not bad, but not 5 star as advertised, no proper entertainment space everything took place in atrium, dancing music, and they weren't great. Theatre where shows took place was nice entertainment was not great. Restaurants were OK food was definitely not 5 star or 4 star. Staff in Restaurants were nice but felt they were always pushing to sell specialty dinning and got quite annoying. I've been on other cruise ships and had better service . Bar in atrium always running out of drinks and would try to get you to have something else rather than get stock in. I did raise this with bar manager but only improved for a day . Wouldn't use them again

Celebrity Cruises will rip you off, be careful.

As a single person, if you're looking to purchase I recommend a different cruise line. I would just recommend a different cruise line regardless. Celebrity will take advantage of you and charge just as much for a single person as they do for 2. I knew that when I purchased, but I found out about a sale and asked if I could change my room to a two person room because I could potentially pay hundreds up to a $1000 less. They would not honor this because the sale was only for "new" purchases. I recommend not purchasing from a company that only pays lip service to caring about customers. While I understand they are a business and a single person can lose them money, paying just as much for two people and then refusing to adjust prices during a sale when they have plenty of rooms left is manipulative, disingenuous and shows how little they actually value their customers. If Celebrity wishes to respond to this, please don't make excuses about your policy, you can make decisions that help your customers and you chose not to after I was on hold for over two hours. (3.5 actually because my first call dropped.) I would have paid for two people. Now I'm stuck with my overpriced room and frustration, though I'll still have a good time. I just recommend no one use this cruise line or purchase during a sale so you get a decent rate because they won't honor anything to make your experience better. I know other lines may be worse, and I want to deal with a company that has integrity and their practices with single rooms and sales are not done with integrity.

Celebrity Cruises is refusing to refund…

Celebrity Cruises is refusing to refund a $900 Reservation Deposit for a cruise 11 months away. It’s refunding a $500 Reservation Deposit ---yet to be received-- for a cruise 7 months away. Both Reservations were made late March early April 2023. May 21 we cancelled both reservations due to misleading information and non-disclosure; and my wife and I (I’m on the cusp of 80 years old) can’t afford risking roughly $9,000 for these cruises. Misleading information/Non Disclosure: We were told BOTH cruises required $500 Reservation Deposits; there was no mention of No Refundable Deposits. However we discovered a $900 charge for the later departure had been made to our credit card. And when we cancelled BOTH cruises the agent told us that Celebrity was not going to refund the $900 because "this one wasn’t refundable"! Not only is this bad business practice but makes no sense at all. Each cruise is about $4,500.7 and 11 months away respectively: CELEBRITY REFLECTION Caribbean. DEC 29 8DAYS. $ 4442. CELEBRITY INFINITY Med/East. APRIL 15 11DAYS. $4120. We emailed the CEO of AVOYA, the Avoya Rep and Celebrity. The CEO - cavalierly replied:"Thanks for your message. I'm currently on another amazing global adventure with little to no internet access.”. The Avoya Rep apologized but said: "I have been in contact with Celebrity Cruise Supervisors and Resolution Dept to try and get them to waive the no refundable depot on cruise 4959295 and so far I have had no success”. There has been NO reply from Celebrity. We also pointed out: It is crucial for a business to ensure that the non-refundable deposit that they charge in these circumstances is reasonable and proportionate with reference to protecting their legitimate business interests and is not excessive or used as a ‘penalty’ against a customer or client.
