I have had an outstanding complaint unresloved since November 2024

I have had an outstanding complaint since November 2024. In the 1 year 1 was issued with two very large bills over 1k each time (I live in a 1 bed apartment and work in the office for reference) so this just did not make sense to me. The issue is still on going, that bill was suppose to be frozen until the issue was resolved but as of last week I am now down 1k as the amount was taken from my bank. I have found it very difficult or at all possible to get updates on this situation from the complaint team. the Customer service operators have tired their best to help but as there is no direct contact to the complaint team this issue is just causing unnecessary stress and anxiety.

I am really happy with the level of customer service Bord Gais provides. Also, the Electricity and Gas rates are good!

I received the €100 lock down credit

I received the €100 lock down credit, and I am being charged 60% interest on that, absolutely disgusting.

PAYG customers not treated fairly

Bord Gais are a disaster their staff are not properly trained to deal with customer issues. I signed up with BG on the 28th September last, 2 accounts later I am still having issues. Incorrect details, just careless customer service reps they don't care, constantly being put on hold. I still have not received my PAYG meter card so I have to phone each time, which takes forever, such cave man style service. All other electricity suppliers have an App for PAYG customers. I cannot get a top today because their Customer Service is closed on Sunday, if I had received my card at least i could top up at a nearby shop. I only hope I'm not left without power later today... My advice stay well clear of BG they are a disaster, i am so so sorry that i left electric Ireland after 18 years where i never once had an issue.

Bordgais Ireland electricity supplier

We took months to sort out issues with our Bordgais account after we provided a final meter reading and new tenants registered with another supplier. Bordgais continued to charge us for 3 months! In this case the same meter was being double charged. After Bordgais refused several times to agree to a refund, I took to social media and the matter was escalated and agreed to be satisfactorily resolved including an undertaking from a senior staff member to ensure client service staff involved receive more training in these matters.

Was going to connect with them.... 3 phone calls later... Snippy customer service... Wrong email address for me. All round terrible customer service... Go elsewhere, they have had it too good for too long

Had a Bord Gais engineer called for…

Had a Bord Gais engineer called for boiler repair. He did nothing. It seems he was prepared to do the repair only in case the boiler was not really broken. Once he verified the failure is real he refused to do anything and pointed me to his friend (not a Bord Gais eng.). I got the repair done by the third party engineer, however Bord Gais dared to charge me €30 for nothing (they call it Reduced Call Out Charge). In short, save your time and nerves, in case of real boiler failure call some trusted engineer directly, stay away from these crooks - Bord Gais.

Nothing but harassment and intimidation…

Nothing but harassment and intimidation 5 phone calls in 1 day looking for money. Threatening letters of disconnection , I know what I have to pay and it’s paid. But these people don’t care . Keep away

Terrible experience

Be very aware that level pay means nothing to this company. My early bills were €9 monthly, jumping to €50/60, then €120 for a few months. My closing bill in August was €385. An absolute joke charging someone that as a direct debit. It ruined the entire month for me. I would not say anything good about Bord Gais and will never get any service provided from them again. Two weeks after taking such a huge amount of money a supervisor offered me a payment plan instead. Too little, too late.

Terrible communication and service

Terrible communication and customer service - due to their incompetence, they did not close our account as we instructed them, ended up paying for 3 months worth of extra bills when we weren't even in the country. We did everything they asked of us, and they just failed to close it, and months later we found out. Atrocious. Avoid them.
