I have had an outstanding complaint unresloved since November 2024

I have had an outstanding complaint since November 2024. In the 1 year 1 was issued with two very large bills over 1k each time (I live in a 1 bed apartment and work in the office for reference) so this just did not make sense to me. The issue is still on going, that bill was suppose to be frozen until the issue was resolved but as of last week I am now down 1k as the amount was taken from my bank. I have found it very difficult or at all possible to get updates on this situation from the complaint team. the Customer service operators have tired their best to help but as there is no direct contact to the complaint team this issue is just causing unnecessary stress and anxiety.

Estimated bill scam

Held an electricy and gas account with Bord Gais energy for two days while in between tenants. I submitted opening readings and closing readings. A few days later I then received an estimated bill twice the price it should be. Discussed this with a support agent on live chat and expected a simple resolution as they issued me an accurate bill by post and an inaccurate one by email. Nope... "computer says no" and I was asked to submit date stamped readings despite them already having readings provided by both myself and the new tenant. Just a scam from an energy company at a time where they are profiteering to an obscene level. Won't ever consider choosing them for either gas or electricity in the future.

Up until June 2021 I would've given a…

Up until June 2021 I would've given a glowing review, had been with them years and no issues. Last year moved house, never received bill. After months and numerous calls, emails, you mention it I tried it, lodged a formal complaint in February 2022, we are now in August 2022 and you know how many times I've heard from the person dealing with my complaint? Twice, first via email when it was lodged to acknowledge it and then one maybe a month later with no information other than its being looked into. Since then I've closed both accounts, final bills issued. Complaint still ongoing and after final bills get issued another bill. Absolute farce of a company, nobody wants to deal with the complaint or talk about it. So many promised calls never came, hours of my life wasted trying to contact them.

Avoid this company

Avoid this company. The customer service is awful. They made a mistake with my bill and I've been trying for months to pay what I actually owe but you just go round in circles with them. A different person replies to every email, with contradicting info, and nobody calls you back when they say they will. Cant get anybody there to take ownership of the situation.

Disgraceful treatment of 93 year old lady

WORST EVER CUSTOMER SERVICE, my mother a 93 year old lady, who's contract is up for renewal, so we called them, my mother is old and speaks in a low voice, but rather than persist with her, and let me deal with the contract, the hung up on her TWICE, this is a disgrace how they treated her. Never will I use this company

Loyal customer for many years

Loyal customer for many years, direct debit payment..major increases since January.. WILL NOT PASS GOVERNMENT CREDIT! Customer service non existent.. keep hanging up on me.. cancelling as soon as I can DISGRACEFUL!!!

Useless customer service

This company is disgusting when it comes to customer service, I've been trying to get copy of old bills 5 weeks now. So sick of it, that I am cancelling my contract with them, with immediate effect.

No loyalty towards loyal customers

My grandmother, 84, has been a loyal customer for many years. Recently, an agent knocked on the door to explain she deserves the 25% discount. My grandmother pays her bills via the Post Office. When we called to discuss the discount, she was told that she had to go paperless. That's fine, we can set up a direct debit but she requested to find out how to see her bills. They replied "email" it's the only way. Have Bord Fais completely forgotten about the older generation? Going cashless is terrifying for them but to never see a bill or payment confirmation? That's unheard of for the elderly and to expect them to just get used to this is crazy. She's a pensioner, her bills are through the roof as is. She's looking to save a few pennies and has to give up so much to do so. Bord Fais, paperless is fantastic, for the environment alone, but you have to meet the elderly in the middle. We asked if she could receive a text and no, email only. Emails at 84 is like learning a new language. Insane service. Delighted she has decided to leave.

I would give minus rating

I would give minus rating, for their customer service. Different people say different things, its no point they record the calls, if you ask them to what was agreed before, plainly deny and say they cant access the calls. On moving from rental property, i was short of 2 months to complete 1 year, and they deduct 100 euro from gas and electricity account. I was adviced on initial contract that because it is a rental property, i would not be charged, if i left the property. (i would be charged only if i switched to different supplier within the property). Do not trust their services. I had rang 10 days ahead to ask what the procedure to end contract, and was told nothing to do. After ending the contract, they said your final bill will be sent to the previous address because you didnt call with the meter reading. When i offered to give my address, he says you have to call back in couple of days when the bill is geneated, to be dispatched. Disgusting nonsense system of a process! The world is so much ahead of this slothful process!

Good Rate - Poor Customer Service

They gave a competitive rate. However customer service is poor. Unable to submit a meter reading online. Customer service agent unable to do the same as 'system was quite slow' 'couldn't see where to input reading. ' A 30 minute call to input a meter reading which wasn't even input is poor service.
