I have had an outstanding complaint unresloved since November 2024

I have had an outstanding complaint since November 2024. In the 1 year 1 was issued with two very large bills over 1k each time (I live in a 1 bed apartment and work in the office for reference) so this just did not make sense to me. The issue is still on going, that bill was suppose to be frozen until the issue was resolved but as of last week I am now down 1k as the amount was taken from my bank. I have found it very difficult or at all possible to get updates on this situation from the complaint team. the Customer service operators have tired their best to help but as there is no direct contact to the complaint team this issue is just causing unnecessary stress and anxiety.

Best advice I can give is to stay away…

Best advice I can give is to stay away from Bord Gais Energy. Customer care service is as bad as Eir. If you need to contact them over the phone they will leave you waiting on the phone for an unlimited amount of time, every time, to the point that you either get cut off or you just realize that you are wasting a lot of your precious time because of Bord Gais. You ring again and it will happen again,they always tell you they are "currently" experiencing a high volume of call ... but that "currently" is always there, just a Always no matter when and what time you call. I know two people that worked for Bord Gais Energy -call center - ( they do not know each other) and they both told me that they were never treated well at work... so don't take your frustration to these poor guys and ladies that take your phone call, they know you too got caught with Bord Gais... It's a shame to see Irish companies getting worse by the day

ABG customer (duel fuel)

ABG customer (duel fuel), currently out of contract. Trying to contact ABG to discuss options for next 12 months, using live chat as calling them on phone tells me I will be waiting 39 minutes. First live chat attempt, conversation ended by agent before I had finished typing in my name! Second attempt, currently waiting for 35 mins & no response whatsoever… awful customer service. Time to find a new supplier who might actually acknowledge me.

Moving Property with Bord Gais

I recently switched over to Bord Gais and signed up to a plan with a 38% discount on gas & electricity. I'm in the process of moving house and rang up BG to understand the moving process and I was told that I have to close my account and re-open once I'm in my new property. However, they are now telling me my current plan is no longer available and that they can only offer a 10% discount. Its an absolute disgrace how my existing plan is not being honoured just because I'm switching properties. They are well able to break the contract due to their own operational inefficiencies but yet they are telling me that I will have to pay an exit fee if I do not sign up to them in my new property (Paying higher rates at a lower discount). The level of customer service is shocking and these energy companies are robbing us.

Works great

I've been with Bord Gáis for over 2 years now for electricity and gas and I haven't had a single problem. Their website is easy to use and provides useful information for comparing usage over time.

Not paying me money they wrongfully took

I left, they charged me twice for my last bill (€465), asked for refund, was told it would take 10 working days, waited and no money, been told now it will be another 10 working days, it's like it's a pathetic childish game they are playing because I left as a customer.

Check your bills and watch out for this…

Check your bills and watch out for this trick from BG. Got my gas bill with an estimated reading showing only half the amount gas actually used and therefore a much lower bill. With a price increase due before my next bill, the amount of gas already used will end being charged at the new higher rate in the next bill. Of course they will claim to back date and charge the gas used at the old rate, but I would love to know how they know what volume of gas is used by an individual customer on any given day. Their level of metering and monitoring isn't that precise. Another sly way of getting more money out of customers.
