Constant problems with no water can't replace the pipes but can pay their shareholders
Entering day 4 without mains water. No end in sight. Apparently they can’t find the cause of the supply failure.
Reported a domestic water leak almost 3 weeks ago. An initial visit confirmed it was the company's responsibility to repair but a follow up visit was needed. 3 weeks pass & the same technician turns up to take photos of the leak he saw 3 weeks before. In the interim no.proactive communication from the.companu. Promised callbacks never came. And.booked visits never happened. Awful! And I have no alternative provider.I can switch to. Simply.awful service

To be fair to Anglian Water their call centre staff must be amongst the politest in the industry - hence the award of a single star. The trouble is that when it comes to escalating matters or resolving problems, Anglian managers never honour commitments from junior call centre staff to call back and provide a management explanation detailing how the problem is to resolved - let alone actually doing something towards providing a positive solution. Sewage has been leaking into our garden from the manhole connecting our system to the Anglian main sewer pipe due to the inability of that main sewage pipe to carry the waste away. Reported a week ago and various excuses offered (all different) such as "no pumps working", "only one pump working", "pipe blocked", "both pumps working but not properly", "debris from highway is problem" etc etc. Several visits from Anglian, but as yet no one seems to have actually done anything other than just look. Why not? Frankly I don't care what the problem is, it is a failure of Anglian to provide the sewage service for which I pay a considerable sum. To date, despite repeated requests no manager has had the courtesy to contact me, not just with excuses but more importantly detail as to when a solution is to be provided. Maybe I am supposed to wait until the sewage floods back into my household?! It is unhealthy and unhygenic and it is Anglians problem to resolve. Is it unreasonable to expect a well funded company to provide an adequate response or does incompetence rule.

53 hours after first raising issue regarding the blocked sewers and no update! Was told a call out within 24 hours but no show. Called again yesterday and promised call back within 24 hours if delayed but failed again. A further 2 hours on hold and no answer, looks as though existing issues are ignored! Government impose lockdown, keeping children and adults at home, yet left without facilities due to Anglian water. The biggest question is... why do we pay for your services when you fail to deliver?!

The first time I had dealings with Anglian water was when our mains water cut off had been covered over, the original fitting date was cancelled but I wasn't informed and the second date i was told about half an hour before they arrived. they then proceeded to block all of the driveway and my neighbours and complained at me when I briefly left my car in the way to safely carry my then 9 month old daughter in. this time my sewer is overflowing, I filled in an online form and waited the allotted 48h before calling back only to be told i wasn't even on the list yet, i was then told that my incident had been escalated and i would here a response within 24h, alas I'm still waiting and i have a house that smells of poo. I cant do the washing properly I'm using buckets, were using work for number 2s and washing in buckets but even with a preschool child at home its apparently not a priority. the only reason i have given them 2 stars is because most of the staff i have dealt with have been very polite and try their best to help despite lack of resources.

I had some queries about building an extension over a public sewer pipe running across the back of my property. I had a look on the website but was still a bit confused so I decided to give them a call and spoke to a lady called Carolyn in drainage support. She was so helpful and knowledgable and went above and beyond to help answer my queries. Excellent customer service

My elderly father rang me in a panic saying there was sewage being pumped from the ground into his garden. I rushed to his property and there was a big problem that I couldn't deal with myself. I rang Anglian water who were excellent. They were extremely busy due to local flooding but treated me and my Father with respect and got to us asap. The guy who turned up was also very professional and solved the problem very quickly. Just brilliant.

Useless they will not invest in their systems !! This morning I am trying to report our drains which are on a vacuum system and regularly fail to drain away. The engineers come and reset system and clean manholes but now for the third time this month we cannot use our toilets or run waste water down the drains. If I ring I am told it could be up to 48 hours ! No toilet for 48 hours ! In 2021 that is just not acceptable.

My dad died last month, so I’ve been dealing with lots of the practicalities: contacting banks, insurance companies and utility providers. Reflecting on this now, Anglian Water stands out as having the best customer service by far: they were sympathetic, understanding, practical and efficient – reassuring me that the water at my dad’s empty house would remain connected, but there would be no more bills to worry about. In contrast, his house insurance company (for the last 20 years) immediately threatened to cancel the policy if I didn’t pay the remaining balance within 48 hours, even though it was not overdue. His bank have failed to send a closing statement even after six weeks. And his gas provider immediately passed his account (which had been paid up to date) to a debt collection agency, before they had even sent me the gas bill - which, when it arrived, was wrong. Dealing with bereavement is hard enough, but it’s become really clear to me in recent weeks that some companies are unprincipled, unhelpful and money-grabbing in these situations – while others handle these matters with sensitively, compassion and efficiency. Anglian Water is definitely in the latter group and, for me at least, have set an example that others would do well to follow.
