Finding family that I didn't know I had or have
This company is a pile of steaming dog s**t. Ordered two DNA tests and mailed them in. After 6 weeks the status on Ancestry site is still „registered” - which means not even received while the carrier tracking status said delivered over 6 weeks ago. Absolutely NO contact information available anywhere on their site except for a stupid chatbot that refuses to provide any contact information until you threaten it with a chargeback. Its absolutely insane. Finally connected to an agent after threatening a chatbot: "we’re not responsible for transportation". Really? Are you having a laugh? Just admit that you lost it… And don’t get me started on the prices for the membership. Not touching this company with a stick in the future and i advise anyone to do the same.
Wouldn't let me cancel free trial until I was charged. Didn't refund me. I went to cancel well within free trial period. The cancellation links didn't work multiple times. I emailed to say I wanted to cancel. No response. I emailed again after I was charged. No response. Weeks later and still no response. Please refund me.
buying the test kit is just the tip of the iceberg. if you want to learn more about your uncovered relatives, you have to pay. more than the cost of the kit. double. it's all a scam
It's something to build on yet in any event I can't help but feel that something is missing anyway all is well
I did not get a hard copy of results. My sisters were not even listed as relativities, you have to pay for information that should be included. Each time you go back to look at information you just looked at names changes. It is hard read on computer. I can't compare my results with my sister results. Her information was better than mines.
I didn't really understand it
We my mothers name is Jones But I gave her married name. And Welsh didn’t come up in the finding. Plus we have got Spanish links but that didn’t come up nether. The sales pressure to buy more finding that should of come with what we paid for. Make you wonder what we received. Sorry Ancestry I didn’t empty my pockets for you.
I did not receive my results. Sent 3emails. One was answer telling me I had done something wrong and try again. Which I did but as no attachment was sent I couldn't get results. The next 2 emails got automated results - we will get back to you. Money down the drain and I had been so excited to do this
all i get is requests for more money to get access to any information. I know my parents but that isn't even included. i feel ripped off.
I am still waiting to see any results.
I was able to connect with my niece, who was adopted at birth.i never expected this and is has made a big difference in my life.
being able to get my dna results back, I just wish that I didn't have to keep paying money to further my tree information. The cost for what I am interested in is pretty steep.
i think its a shame to be charged to get the results, dangling a carrot! some peoples emotions matter and in some cases its a lot to deal with period.... also sending notifications "you're sending hints" was pretty disappointing to say the least, like its a joke to ancestry, so that people will do whatever to get the information from you for a price. im not impressed, the information you have on my DNA was simply from me entering it..
My husband & I received the kits for a present. We mailed them the same day after registering them which was acknowledged. I got emails regarding the status. He never did. Several weeks later I got a message that said "sorry something happened" and would I like a new kit sent. I received another kit & sent it in. The results only showed a small bit from my mother's family & only a bit more from my father's side all of which I already knew unless I wanted to pay extra. I didn't build a tree because that was more money also. I would not recommend this to anyone.
The process was pretty seamless...but the bonus is that I'm meeting people through our journey from ancestors that I wouldn't have connected with...so exciting
Everything! Still can't communicate with Ancestry. AI bot truly awful. They messed up my first sample. After three months they sent a new kit. Finally sent an email today saying results are in. Tried to access them but only get a message saying I am not authorised to see them. After ages online they have now mixed up my husband's and my accounts so nothing works. Now the constructive bit...get a human being involved and sort it out. It really isn't that difficult. Pretty please! Pat Pawsey
This was a great experience. I was so excited to get my results to learn about my history and maybe down the road I can meet family that I did not know I had. This is a great company and I think everyone should want to learn about their history. One thing I do like about this company is how they let you know every step of the way with the DNA results.
I thought there would be more detail. Looks like something a child came up with. Also I'm glad I only paid $39.99 in my eyes its not worth the wait. It just almost looks like something that could be made up? Another thing is that you all only go back a few generations so u can't really pin point shit. Other than that I found a couple interesting locations! If that is 100% accurate, which was another thing that bothered me was you gave yourself a large amount of room for maybes... I guess to the fact that u only can cover to a region not even a country is a drag. I guess ut was worth $39.99
I cannot get into the results on my computer!
