The rental process was great and the vehicle was fine, but the hours stink.

The actual vehicle and customer service experience was good, even great. The only hassle is the hours of operation. Who cuts off the day for a retail business at an international airport at 2 PM? We had to cut our trip short to return car over 6 hours before flying out and then sit in the airport gate for those 6 hours waiting. Believe me, I could have found a lot better ways to spend that time considering what I spent on the overall trip. It would not be so bad but it was not declared at the time of the reservation being made, so I planned other things to do then when I found out about the whole 2 PM thing, it rather blew my plans. This would have been a 5 star other than the hours.

SUV in SLC

No major problems, the truck ran great. The only issue was it wasn’t washed before given to me. This is the winter in SLC where it snows every day. The truck was a mess outside and a little wet on the carpets inside.

Hidden fees, dishonest, poor customer service

Overall, it was not a great experience. The car rental company was located inside of a hotel, with no’s signs outside of the building. Once I made it inside I had to ask the hotel agent where to find someone for the car rental agency because there was no one in the car rental office. Five minutes later, one of the car rental agents made it in from out back, I followed him to the office which was more like a small room tucked in the corner. He had me sign the paperwork then we went to inspect the vehicle so I could be on my way. The vehicle appeared to be in good shape from the outside. When I loaded my bag into the trunk of the midsize SUV, I noticed they had done a poor job of airing out the vehicle which still had the faint smell of cigarette smoke looming. I rolled the windows down and started on my road trip. Two hours into the road trip I decided to check the paperwork and found that they had put down limited mileage. I immediately called them and told them that the website I had reserved it on said unlimited mileage. Their argument was that it is only unlimited if you have proof of a plain ticket. This was not mentioned anywhere on the website I reserved the vehicle on. Not only were they unaccommodating, but they were unapologetic for the way they had misrepresented free mileage on the website I made the reservation on. After discussing things with them I figured out that with the overage fees from the additional mileage I was planning on driving my total was going to be over twice as much. Unfortunately I had to cut my road trip to see family in a nearby state had to be cut short. I do not recommend going with this company because of their dishonesty and lack of care for their customers.

Assistant mgr was extremely rude and…

Assistant mgr was extremely rude and after they had ferried us 9 miles from airport, I complained that vehicle was dirty and did not have a full tank of gas. Assistant mgr told me I could go somewhere else, However I would have had to call a cab to get my family and luggage back to airport to do that. I will never rent from airport van rentals again. The were also very unorganized, slow and not prepared for their scheduled reservations. I suggest you stay with a name brand, Hertz, Avis, Enterprise, National, Dollar or Alamo.

Rental process was fairly easy

Rental process was fairly easy. Found out at the counter that Expedia insurance which was already paid for is not valid with AVRs vans. Their insurance is of course much more expensive. Their vans are adequate, but generally in poor condition. Not the cleanest inside and don’t smell very good. Otherwise everything went smooth and van worked fine.

Outside of having to use two shuttles…

Outside of having to use two shuttles to arrive at the location where the van actually was - working with AVR was a positive experience. Friendly, helpful staff with good instructions for returning the vehicle early morning. Thanks!

If I can give a negative star then I would. You and AceRentAcar are scammer. If I have enough time I would have settled with my credit card or even sue you.

This is my second year renting a 15…

This is my second year renting a 15 passenger van from AVR in Las Vegas. I was very impressed when they contacted me to confirm my reservation prior to my arrival and with the entire rental process professionalism of the employee who help me as well as the condition of the van they provided. I highly recommend AVR for anyone looking to transport their group in a large van.

Needed a passenger van immediately

Needed a passenger van immediately. They had availability and the price was fair. They could have easily charged double but they didn't. My company will be using them again in the future.

Initial vehicle had 70,000 miles and…

Initial vehicle had 70,000 miles and unsafe tires. I hadn’t noticed when I got the car. I had to drive back to Denver from Beaver Creek to swap vehicles. Frank was extremely nice, was apologetic and put me in a brand new Chrysler van. So ultimately very happy.

Will never come back, no more in for future

The staff refused to rent the van to us after I decline the insurance and use my own insurance and told me the 100 miles per day limit. I rent the van here many times, no one told me that! I will never rent from here anymore and I will tell all my friends this issue, at least 8 of my friends rent from here. After they know this, they will think about this before renting from AVR.

The price was excellent and the vehicle…

The price was excellent and the vehicle was great. The counter service was from a new employee but he got assistance from someone more experienced. The one thing that could have been better was that we waited 35 minutes for a shuttle to pick us up at the airport.

Think twice

Off site location is dirty, kind of a dump in the back room of a hotel, car had ( melted / hardened wax ) all over the driver side of the car , damage to front end ... employee just kinda blew it off and said no worries I’ll mark down as damaged your not responsible. Office staff ( 2 guys ) not very polite, inviting and cold , not so great on customer service .... doesnt give you a whole lot of confidence when renting a car. Lots of room for improvement

Unexpected fee’s

Unexpected fee’s. Expensive. Didn’t have any wiper fluid and I wasn’t compensated despite being told I would be. Short staffed, waited well over an hour for a car that had been reserved. Overall pretty bad experience and not worth the excessive amount of money that went into it.
