Turnkey is a criminal company

Turnkey is a criminal company! They have held $4500 of our money for a year and refuse to refund us though they cancelled our reservation not us. Check out Facebook page “Turnkey do the right thing”!

My family an I stayed 8 nights at Joy's…

My family an I stayed 8 nights at Joy's house & it was our home away from home. Beautiful views, large and roomy , Enjoyed our stay so much ! The two queen beds down stairs are stiff, but over all our stay was well worth it . Only thing missing was our fur pup . Would be even better if joys house allowed pets . The views and benifits of location exceeded our expectations. Would love to make booking joys house a new family tradition!

Refund policy is ridiculous

Turnkey has a no refund for natural disasters or Acts of God policy. For example, the Caldor Fire in the Tahoe area. The area is being evacuated, most roads and highways are blocked, the air quality is hazardous and the fire is 3 miles from my rental. We were supposed to go there in 2 days. They recommended I should have canceled a month ago when there was no fire. They are making Airbnb pay me back now.

vacation rental in Orange Beach

I rented a vacation rental in Orange Beach, AL over the weekend. The first tour of the condo was perfect. Everything appeared clean, tidy, and really nice. There was an issue with the sleeper sofa being dirty and no clean linens to fit it. TurnKey responded very quickly and professionally every single time I asked.

Enjoyable stay

We stayed at Pamilla in a 2 bedroom condo unit 203. Everything was exceptional- beautifully decorated, great location, clean, and convenient. The Turnkey information we received by email was everything we needed from arriving instructions to departing. Everything went very smoothly and we will use Turnkey again.

This should be a zero star review

This should be a zero star review. This is a terrible company with horrible customer service. They won’t allow any cancellations in the Tahoe area despite the Caldor Fire and it’s evacuations, road closures and dangers. Be warned.

Turnkey makes things easy

Turnkey makes things easy, this is the second property they manage we’ve stayed at and both have been nothing short of outstanding. The Taos Ski Valley house exceeded our already high expectations, it was clean, well apportioned and while very modern it had a conformable feel to it.

Horrible!

Horrible!! Had a trip booked . Hurricane Ida hit us hard . I live near New Orleans. No refund , no credit. No nothing . Do not book with these people !!! Heartless

I agree with all of these postings - and then some

I agree with all of these postings. I had a Truckee rental from March of 2020 that they refused to cancel due to shelter in place, and they finally (after hours of phone calls) offered me a credit (I re booked for August 2021 and rates and minimum stay had changed). Then the fires hit. I am local and refused to clog 80 or go when wildfires were raging - it would have been irresponsible. Not to mention that the air quality was over 500. I understand their policy -- but think credits should be issued at the very least. I am appalled that they still had the audacity to charge the cleaning fee for a stay I didn't use!! I book houses all the time and have for years. The last few experiences with VRBO and Turnkey have been absolutely ridiculous. I was told my case was sent to corporate but can find no way to reach them. And I was never able to reach the host. DO NOT use VRBO and TurnKey especially. It's a massive headache as you can never speak to anyone - I have been waiting 7 days for a supervisor to contact me. These companies should be ashamed of themselves (don't throw policy at me, I read them and am aware). You should be ashamed of yourself for how you handled the customer engagement. I was happy to see an article in the SF chronicle today highlighting this terrible behavior from a company.

Confusion on who's canceling who...

First off, I hate to be on here complaining about a rental experience with a "company" that calls themselves, TurnKey Vacation Rentals; considering, the devastation from the Caldore Fires and the actual residents in this fires path and complete loss of their property they are experiencing with this natural disaster. Nonetheless, the process of a business transaction, in most cases, is pretty clear: I choose to pay you for a service/rental and you provide said property on agreed date(s) for habitation. There are now mandatory evacuations in South Lake, Tahoe, with unhealthy, air quality conditions and breathing is kind of a big deal. There seems to be such an emphasis from TurnKey's responses stating ZERO refunds on cancellations unless 'travel insurance' was purchased. Am I missing something here? As a company that provides a rental service to properties and, now, NOT being able to provide the properties to 'paid in full' clients, shouldn't YOU be cancelling the transactions since you can't provide the property? If TurnKey doesn't make this right with their customers, they will burn as a business (pun intended).

Looks like I am in the same situation…

Looks like I am in the same situation as so many others. I had a rental booked in the Tahoe area, and despite not being able to get to the rental due to the fires, TurnKey will not refund any portion and is citing their policy. Why would the residence need to be cleaned if my visit was cancelled? A few hundred dollars for cleaning is absolutely bonkers as well. I’ve reached out to AirBnB for assistance but I’m doubtful anything will happen. $1200 for two nights, lost. It’s a shameful policy, to say the least. Yes, they encouraged insurance on the trip, but if you read their terms under their insurance, they still don’t refund for natural disasters.
